  1. It's sad that so many of the bitcoin rubes don't realize that the creation of ETF's amounted to artificially increasing the supply of bitcoin and absolutely increased the legislative monitoring of it. It's sad how correlated with the stock market its become.
  2. I dunno. Big ball of fire 8 minutes away as the proton flies may have something to do with our weather.
  3. They may be late, but the bond market doesn't think inflation is under control either...that's the problem here.

  6. IT's too bad our buddy who was tortured by Cristiano Ronaldo's favorite people is no longer on here. I'd love to hear his "Theory of Everything: Hurricanes Expansion Pack"

  8. I wasn't debating Russia's spending being inflationary, I was saying that military spending, writ large, cannot be blanket charged as inflationary and non-contributory economically because of the facts that there is a prime example of where military spending is econonomically contributory (US). It moreso has to do with the structure of our economies, as you said. Our military spending is economically contributory vis a vis trade routes, it's directly contributory in arms sales to other nations, and keeping the dollar as a stable reserve currency (also as you said), and indirectly due to R&D that typically would have not been allocated strictly due to the enormous upfront costs that eventually rolls into the private sector via technological advancement. Whereas, Russia is primarily a raw material/natural resource nation. Outrageous military expenditures in such a nation inherently leads to inflation as more and more materials are required to feed the monkey, and fewer and fewer of those materials are exported for economic gain. Russia is a few steps ahead of Zaire and Zimbabwe vis a vis technological ability to absorb hyperinflation during periods of gross overspending militarily. Long story short, I was disagreeing of the blanket statement, not the part about Russia.
  9. In a sense, air craft carriers do make the economy more productive via protection and streamlining of trade routes.

Makes me almost wish they were mid table to watch them drift toward that bottom dweller status. If there are any Gergg defenders out there, they'll be thumping their chests if he gets them up near the Atlanta range.
  11. Don't talk about Mrs. Eisenhower like that
  12. Gonna post some pics of my 2 daughters’ first fishing outing. Nothing cooler than the eyes of a child so thrilled about one of the oldest human traditions out there…. Pappy bought them fishing poles for their birthdays, and I’ll be damned if we didn’t land a few decent bass on that Paw Patrol rod/reel lol
  13. Oh no. There goes Kokomo, go go Godzilla.

  15. I'm gonna have to say I disagree here to an extent. You have to remember some of the one-off items that were researched and built initially for military use, like computers, and see that those dollars have almost infinitely multiplied their initial research investments. Yes, most big ticket items don't resort in that kind of multiple, but you have to factor all of it in if you're going to make a blanket statement regarding R&D multiples.
  16. Oh I know they do, but the economics will overtake the angst at some point. I’d just rather be right sooner. Because I know I’m right in the intent
  17. The Fair....And Christmas....Them motherfuckers will be broke by January It was the Chinese!!!!!
  18. Not even trying to pick stocks based on political outcomes...Built a politically agnostic portfolio that really should only give a shit about economic conditions...... L/S equity Managed Futures Long Long dated treasuries that should go up as yields come down (that's the big rub.....) Put Write Strategy on S&P A small hint of Bitcoin
  19. It'd be nice if my "Politically Agnostic Portfolio" I built didn't keep getting wrecked by the long end of the treasuries curve. Good Lord.
