Yep. Every day we get multiple fliers, sometimes duplicates for the same candidate. At least Troxy is easy on the eyes.
  2. I know you can never trust the forecast more than a few days out, but I'm keeping my eyes on the middle of next week.

The number of oak leaves on my 3 acres pales in comparison to the number of mailers I've received this primary season. I'm glad it's almost over.
  4. So O'Connor's dream season ended to Stony Point Saturday. That Moseley guy for SP was playing on a different level. He's big and fast and can shoot from anywhere, effortlessly. No real shame in losing to them. I have kin on O'Connor's team, so I'm biased, but the refs were really bad on Saturday - not that it affected the outcome, to be clear. But there was an obvious 2-point shot called as a 3, missed blatant traveling calls, inconsistent foul calls. There was an over and back violation that was right in front of one of the refs. He didn't call it, so the ref on the other side of the court had to call it. I know that's all pretty standard, and you just hope the calls even out, but I was curious what any 'neutral' observers thought. /sour grapes maybe, and I haven't watched much high school basketball until this year.
  5. Shoot, I didn't realize that this clip cut off the "Hannah, can you hear me?" part. So here's the rest. This one picks up where that one left off. Look up, Hannah!
  6. So apparently Vince Carter - Vince Carter? - posted a message to social media saying he'd hate to be an O'Connor Panther (and having to play Lake Travis yesterday). Good job Vince, LT's season is over.
  7. I was at the O'Connor - Lake Travis game before that one. O'Connor won a gutsy one in OT.

This is my dilemma. I'm in a solid R area. So do I vote in the R primary to support the least worst candidates, or in the D primary to give the overall party a boost?
  9. Well, speak of the devil... Oak has shown up in the counts. It's a little early, but counts are still low. But what's been bothering everyone are the other things blooming in this early spring: ash, elm, mulberry, hackberry. Plus molds are always around.
  10. I got a couple of Husky Cherry tomatoes and an Early Girl yesterday, and some misc herbs and stuff. But my trusted source at the nursery was pretty sure we're going to get one more freeze. So I put the tomatoes in grow bags for now (new trick for me this year), and I'll have more time to prepare the bed with compost. My onions are looking good. I have volunteer parsley in a lot of places. I'll probably cut it all today and dry it on racks. I guess it's a good sign that I found a whole bunch of earthworms while digging around yesterday, in my raised beds and in my compost pile.
  11. No one who speaks German could be bad.
  12. 226-3232. "Frost Bank time ... 7:55. Downtown temperature ... 64." I'd call that every time it got cold, just to hear if it was below freezing. We had clocks and a thermometer at home, but I loved dialing 226-3232.
  13. Son of a bitch. This thread is marked "HOT" and I walk into a discussion about shoes and old hotels. I can smell the hotel pictures, though.
  14. Are the shoes some kind of money laundering deal? I have to look laundering up in the dictionary.
