  1. Who’s “they?” Who would replace Harris? Someone white?
  2. Why would they do that? I can’t see that happening.
  3. That’s not analogous at all. If Biden dies, problem solved.
  4. This story is just too good not to share. Matthew Pancake was arrested while wearing leopard skin pajamas with four hamsters in his pants after a series of break-ins. https://www.10tv.com/article/news/crime/bodycam-man-arrested-hamsters-in-pants-columbus-matthew-pancake/530-772885cf-c800-4d09-84ee-7c5a328e58d7 Bodycam video shows arrest of man with hamsters in his pants after allegedly breaking into Columbus pet store COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police released body camera video showing the arrest of a man who had hamsters in his pants after allegedly breaking into a pet store and two other businesses on the city's west side early Tuesday morning. Officers were called to Roosters at 5225 Nike Station Way near Hilliard just after 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the restaurant was broken into. Video evidence shows a man with long hair wearing leopard-print pajamas inside. A nearby Petland store was also broken into, with several animals seen running around in the parking lot. Police recovered two dogs, multiple birds, a hamster and at least two bunnies. A Famous Footwear store on Hilliard Rome Road was also broken into. Around 4:45 a.m., officers found the man, police later identified as Matthew Pancake, sleeping on a bench near Big Lots on Roberts Road. The bodycam video shows multiple officers surrounding Pancake as he sleeps on the bench. An officer grabs Pancake off the bench and tells him he is under arrest. Pancake asked several times asking what was happening and officers told him that he was under arrest for breaking and entering. As officers searched Pancake, they found four hamsters and bedding in his leopard-printed pajamas. "There's multiple gerbils in his pants," an officer can be heard saying. "Do you have any more gerbils on you?" The gerbils were later identified as hamsters. The officers took pictures of the hamsters before returning them to the store. Pancake was treated for injuries he suffered while allegedly breaking into one of the stores. He is charged with breaking and entering and vandalism. A judge set his bond at $10,000 during his arraignment on Wednesday.
  5. Just wait until Mike Johnson launches an impeachment inquiry.
  6. Not sure where else to put this. Is there a “Let’s talk about how fucked up Tennessee is” thread? I guess this is as good a place as any. I especially like the “this has nothing to do with politics” line. It’s just legislation passed in the House and Senate and signed by the governor. But it’s not about politics, just our “relationship with Jesus Christ” so it’s not unconstitutional at all. Jackson residents gather as TN Gov. signs bill calling for 30 days of prayer https://www.wbbjtv.com/2024/07/08/jackson-residents-gather-as-tn-gov-signs-bill-calling-for-30-days-of-prayer/ JACKSON, Tenn. — People are coming together in a significant way here in the Hub City. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill calling for 30 days of prayer and fasting for the month of July. This movement is an initiative to open the eyes of Americans, and lead the way towards a brighter future for the entire nation. “One of our legislators, Monty Fritts from east Tennessee, God planned it on his heart to write a resolution. That resolution is ‘HJR 803’ that is joint house resolution which means basically that is was signed off on all parties, and then signed by our governor,” said Garry Martin, Senior Pastor for Jackson First Assembly. This is something legislator Fritts is orchestrating throughout all 95 counties. Pastor Martin expresses this has nothing to do with politics but everything to do with relationship with Jesus Christ. “This wasn’t about the one side versus the other. They all came together and realized if we don’t do something and allow god to do it we’re lost,” said Pastor Martin. “They realized that what was happening and everything that we’re doing in our country is not changing anything. And they realize that the one element that’s missing is the presence of God in our relationships– in our meetings and across America,” said Pastor Martin. Pastor Martin mentions the impressive turn out they didn’t expect. He tell us it holds a great deal of significance for the entire region. Tennessee recognizes the period of July 1 through July 31 as a time of prayer and fasting in the state.
  7. Fascists only will be allowed. White Christian fascists.
  8. The nation’s collective IQ went up by a full point.
  9. Check out her appearance in Las Vegas today. It was strong.
  10. I posted it on page 1 of this thread. He’s not going to read it.
  11. Can someone point me to a non-religious version of the Bible?
  12. I don’t think there’s any way that Biden resigns the presidency. In terms of his legacy, he’d want to serve out a full term. And I don’t see any way that Harris would benefit from the artificial incumbency of a few months with the title of President vs. being Joe’s endorsed successor. Biden can still perform his presidential duties while also campaigning for her. If Harris were to be elevated to president before the term ended then she would absolutely have to pick a VP. Otherwise, as someone pointed out earlier, one well-placed bullet would make Mike Johnson the president. That threat shouldn’t be taken lightly. But Joe’s not resigning the presidency. No way no how.
  13. Gotta get someone white to run and they’ll have Michelle Obama and Oprah on hand to provide cover.
  14. He’s not even the nominee yet. I don’t know if everyone is familiar with what’s going on in Ohio but we have a law that says the ballot must be certified 90 days before the election which means by Aug 7. The Democratic National Convention isn’t until Aug 19th so they’re planning to have a “virtual roll call” prior to Ohio’s Aug 7 deadline to declare Joe Biden the nominee and get him on the ballot. That’s going to complicate things in the calculation of if/when Biden should drop out.
