  1. Watching LHN and Loreal has been hanging out behind Lowell and The Gang. Her hair makes 70’s Diana Ross look like Jada at the Oscars. Texas by 60.
  2. I’m expecting this 260-pounder out of Huntsville to have a big day. Hook ‘em.
  3. According to Asu2215, probably Lulu from HeeHaw’s twin.
  4. I find 98% of the service and cost superior to the other streamers, and I’m not sacrificing that for the 2% of the time I may wish it easier to turn to LHN.
  5. Legit question, does a 12 year old TV even have an HDMI port? You’ll need one to even connect to a modern smart device. Maybe it’s time to spend a little on a new TV (they are remarkably inexpensive now).
  6. I get LHN thru ESPN app sign in from family member. Won’t matter in a few months, LHN is shuttering, as Lowell reminds us every week.
  7. If you’re advanced enough to have a fancy receiver, are you sure you don’t already have a smart TV, capable of downloading the YTTV/HuluLive/Fubo/ESPN, etc app of your choice? You may not need a Roku/Fire Stick/AppleTV, etc. But if you are still in the market, I’ve had these type devices since the early days of Roku, and I don’t recall seeing an optical port on any. I suspect it’s just a matter of you using the connection you always have, as the device turns your TV smart, and the audio receiver will decode the stereo sound as the distribution allows. But I don’t know nuthin’, somewhat tech savvy, not a wire my house for ultimate sound guy…
  8. Once again, as UTexasFight points out, the beef is between DirecTV and TEGNA, not Disney/ABC. It affects TEGNA owned stations of various affiliations in multiple cities. You would also have a problem watching Survivor on CBS in Fort Smith or Fox’s Family Guy in Hartford or The Voice on NBC in Denver.
  9. The current dispute is DirecTV vs TEGNA, a media group that owns multiple stations in multiple markets with multiple network affiliations. It has nothing to do with Disney or ABC. I believe the NBC affiliate in Waco/Temple/Killeen is also involved as a TEGNA station. The streaming vs. cable vs. satellite debate has been hashed out on these threads for years (search “cord cutting”), but I think this is the first time on the Football board. I’ve stood on the table many years for YouTubeTV as the best streaming service (I’ve tried most of them), while others may prefer others. I was a many year DirecTV subscriber before that, because I needed NFL Sunday Ticket to watch Longhorns in the NFL. I understand some are limited by their geographic situation, but if you can, dump DirecTV. It is shit and incredibly expensive. For DTV users, consider how you watch the service in secondary rooms (bedroom, den, patio, TV-equipped bathroom)… need a DVR or client? Some may now use a Direct associated streaming service, which was finally rolled out. But it can add up to a ridiculous sum. I was paying something in the neighborhood of $230 maybe? And those fucking clients NEVER worked. With your streaming service, again, mine being YTTV, I watch the same account (it’s $79.01 a month) on all my TVs (they need to be “smart,” which can be accomplished by a $25 Roku or Fire Stick) and I can even watch it on my iPad or phone. I have unlimited DVR, it saves everything for a year, I get most of the channels I need (I use a family member’s old skool cable account to access LHN on the ESPN app) and I don’t really care about Bally (but can access that app, too thru the family member). Yes, you need a strong internet service/WiFi. You certainly do not need a separate internet signal for your TVs and everything else. There is a learning curve, maybe a “familiarity curve” is a better way to put it when one moves to streaming. The channel changing is different, it takes a second longer, you don’t punch in channel numbers on a remote. I still find myself scrolling down thru many rows of channels to get where I want. The “Home” section is a nice shortcut, it has a memory of where you’ve been before. But it’s a bit more effort for a superior yet much cheaper alternative. I agree everyone should have antenna backup, unfortunately my house is either in a gully or the trees block the signals, but I get almost no reception thru an antenna. If you do, then that’s an easy option. I prefer watching things on a DVR so I can rewind or watch later, but antenna obviously can work for KVUE.
  10. With all due respect, what the fuck are you talking about? I watch YTTV on 75”:4K capable screens and it looks perfect. I see your most recent post. Please watch it on a TV. I think you may have been the one to describe your TVs as “long in the tooth.” Can’t help it if they are old tech. Certainly HD I hope!
  11. It’s Tegna vs. DirecTV, so it doesn’t affect many viewers, but obviously some of you. First of all, you should have dumped DTV long ago, it’s a shit platform for waaaay too much money. You all probably have a smart TV by now, and if you don’t, get a Roku for $25 at Walmart and get YouTubeTV and upgrade your TV experience for easily less than half the price. Hulu LiveTV also works, Sling, etc. Or do the antenna thing. There are easy solutions.
  12. C’mon, Tex. That was worth a heart attack? 😂
  13. Not sure if I want the UCLA or Arizona State TE, how about both? Tight end mismatches are killers, real area of need.
  14. And when Haynes says “crazy,” he’s just talking about all the bizarre skin tones he’s using on the edits he’s been asked to create.
  15. Just read this Obliterated review. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/obliterated-review-brainless-teenage-boys-060000750.html?.tsrc=daily_mail&uh_test=0_00 Looks like Surly has its TV spirit animal, boys! Obliterated, review: brainless teenage-boy's fantasy nonsense is a new low for Netflix
  16. Boo Corrigan being a complete fuckhead right now. What a lying piece of shit.
  17. I just wrote a long ass, I-think-well-thought-out post about various scenarios but there’s been about 30 posts since I started, so fuck it 🤣 Go Texas!
  18. Roschon being the tough badass we know him to be. Several good runs, and the second to the last play of the third quarter featured him taking out two Minnesota rushers in pass pro, allowing Fields to make a rare completion. And now the jinx, he gets wrapped up in the backfield…
  19. Thank you for the heads up. How are his shoulders?
  20. Opening statement praises crowd, he watched the broadcast version and it gave him a different perspective on the atmosphere. Says Oklahoma State and Gundy/Ollie present a real challenge, needs a good burnt orange contingent in Arlington. Said he didn’t care about whether OU or State, but kinda fitting we play when we weren’t scheduled. Says defense and special teams were dominant Friday. When asked if deserving of CFP discussion, spicy Sark replied, “Why wouldn’t we be?”: Praised RB room, did a self assessment, comments now on program morphing into a yearly championship contender.
  21. I guess you were too busy, I don’t know, fighting wars or something, to recognize somewhat obscure lines from one of the comedic masterpieces of the 20th century/Murray canon. ”Lee Harvey!”
  22. I don’t know, maybe Joey is interested in hotel management.
  23. Some fucking morons on this team
  24. Really good documentary, and I’m glad Reiner touched on the absurdity of the name “Albert Einstein” and the legendary tale of the passing of Parkyakarkus. I also watched Defending Your Life the other day (I think the NYT prompted me with a blurb). The doc led me to Modern Romance, which I’ve never seen before. Found it on Tubi, which may actually have some worthwhile content (I’ve never tried it before). I watched a few minutes late at night to see if I wanted to continue, and I’ll finish it soon. Cringe-inducing relationship self-destruction is a theme with which the younger Vito can identify.
