RIP. He was a lot of fun to watch when I was in school at the same time.

The free agency world is crazy. Kendall Lamm got a $7MM deal from the Browns, making the Texans better and ruining the Browns offseason.

Wasted almost $2000 trying to save a 30' pine in our front yard. Two arborists, soil analysis, injections--nothing. Had it taken down and replaced it with a magnolia that's thriving. Btw, all the "certified" arborists in Houston are A&M grads.

No big loss.

The secondary now looks solid enough but the OL still looks like crap. Only addressing it through the draft gets DW killed for two plus years.

Do you have any data for that assertion? Anecdotally, it seems like many of the well-known billionaires have become large philanthropists, maybe with the notable exception of Bezos.
Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Oprah, Ken Langone, John Paulson, etc.
Bezos is about to become the biggest philanthropist in world history when he gives half of his fortune to his ex.

You have to admit that it's a pretty impressive accomplishment. I'm not sure how many athletic director candidates can boast about that.
Patterson tried his damndest to match him.

Elisabeth Kimmel of Las Vegas, possibly a relative of Jimmy by blood or marriage, since he grew up there. Also Gordon Caplan, the Co-chair of one of the biggest lawfirms in the country. This is fantastic schadenfreude.

We are going to Jazzfest in May and I have made reservations at Cafe Degas and Carrollton Market. These are two places we've never been to before and I'm looking forward to both. We've been to almost all of the well regarded places and our favorites are Brigtsen's and Shaya. Chef Brigtsen was really cool and gave us a tour of his kitchen and let us ask questions of his chefs about some of the dishes. Herbsaint was pretty disappointing the last time we went but Dookie Chase's was better than ever. We love going out to the lake and eating at Deanie's.

We built our house 21 years ago in a suburb of Houston with Hardie Plank and brick. The HP has been incredible. It has never chipped, cracked or peeled. We repainted last year, only because the paint was dull, otherwise the HP was in perfect condition.

Kevin Johnson was released.

If the Jags get Nick Foles, the AFC South is going to be a dogfight.

Saturday night was must see TV for me as a kid. The Carol Burnett Show, followed by All in the Family, then The Mary Tyler Moore Show followed by The Bob Newhart Show ending with Mannix.

FuboTV now carries ATT SportsNet making almost all Astros and Rockets games available. It’s pricey at $45 per month.

Must have been a Georgetown fan.

A man was tragically killed outside of the Baltimore Ravens football stadium over the weekend after he attempted to escape a porta potty that had lit up in flames.
The incident happened on Sunday outside of M&T Bank Stadium at approximately 3 p.m., Blair Skinner, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore City Fire Department, told The Baltimore Sun.
After the portable toilets caught fire, the unidentified man was seen running from the blaze — also engulfed in flames himself — by a stadium security guard, Skinner explained to the outlet.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Wetteland is a born-again Christian who has taught Bible studies and coached baseball at a nearby Christian school. It’s not known if the sex abuse charge has anything to do with the school, though the Dallas Morning News reported that Wetteland no longer has any connection to it.

Now that's a callback to the late, great Joel Buschbaum. I still miss him.
