  1. I don’t know why y’all bother, every time there’s a thread like this I hope to be pleasantly surprised by the takes of certain posters (and those who rep them but don’t participate), and it always just confirms my suspicions on their general outlook.
  2. That was absolutely brutal…handcuffed and just completely stomped, pepper sprayed and flat out murdered.
  3. I felt like those two balanced each other out well…Jason playing the over-the-top, chauvinistic slob dickhead and Deb portraying the narcissistic main character spoiled brat type. They’d call each other out and often be somewhat entertaining radio. Beyond playing Red Hot Chili Peppers every time I tuned in, I stopped listening to 101x when Deb left as Jason solo just isn’t the same. I will admit I like the Matt, Chuy and (sorta) Bob thing KLBJ has going in the mornings. They often cover relatable topics without going into massive whining like Dale would, Bearden has always been introspectively funny, and Chuy embodies a general Texas vibe I enjoy. The downside is the same collection of classic rock during music breaks and Bob often checks out / the rock news thing is cringey AF. Point being it’s a nice change of pace from choosing my own content but they’re making no ad revenue from me as I’m not committed enough to listen for stretches anymore.
  4. Fuck Baylor always and forever. RIP Queso, you are remembered. Amen.
  5. They both sound like miserable people. Deb always seemed like a borderline alcoholic and def was regularly late to the show, and it wouldn’t surprise me that Sinclair is a total racist/misogynistic asshat.
  6. Wait…you don’t really die from high blood pressure and heart disease, at 51 or whatever…right? Usually you die from an acute event triggered from those chronic conditions, like a stroke or heart attack...right? And 51 seems a little young for such a generic, flippant cause of death. My good buddy Chris, who passed away at 43 a good 5+ years ago now, had high BP and apparent heart disease…but it was a heart attack from massive blockage that triggered his early passing. I think she had Covid and her body wasn’t able to handle it BECAUSE of the underlying issues.
  7. Fuck it, why not
  8. I love how the show is one commercial for Rams, whisky, boots and how to quickly stop a horse…then during commercial breaks it’s ads for Rams, whisky, etc. Of course I’ve noticed quite a lot of dorks wearing black cowboy hats lately so it must be working
  9. What the hell were they doing during their hard lockdowns? It was barely a gentle suggestion to stay home here in spring of 2020, but if it weren’t for my wife’s tubal after kiddo #2, I’m pretty sure we’d have kid #3 now.
  10. Yep he took his money and got into photography, if I recall. Smart dude
  11. Yep that’s it. Try changing that channel a few times, or try auto first…but if auto ends up on the same channel then try manual changes. May take a few tries, testing speed each time. Not saying that def the answer but that’s what channels are there for, interference. Also always worth resetting your router
  12. That second image is your WAN status = connection from router to the internet…we know that’s fine because wired works well. Often there’s an advanced section in the wireless config, that may need a special password from the bottom of the physical router to get. If you get into the advanced section, try changing the ‘channel’ for it…on mine there’s an ‘auto scan’ setting that’ll look for the channel with the least interference. If all WiFi is slow but wired is fine, likely something is conflicting with your signal…neighbors WiFi, microwave, your wife’s dildo, something. Changing channel can resolve interference.
  13. Can you run a speed test on another WiFi device from the same spot? Curious if it’s only that one device that’s really slow…assuming you were getting the 25mbps while really close to the router? I was operating under the assumption that you weren’t getting any internet at all on WiFi. Slow speeds can be a lot of things, it’s possible that a neighbor or other device close by is causing interference. If other WiFi devices are slow now too you may need to login into your router and change that channel.
  14. I saw you posting in the alcoholics thread. Are you full on trying to quit or just be ‘normal’? Do you get withdrawals, shakes or other physical symptoms beyond just a hangover? Do you obsess about drinking on your days off? I will tell you, at least from my own personal experience, that you may be torturing yourself a bit by having your longest streak be only 3 days. For many physical addictions that seems to be about the baseline for fully ridding them of your body, and for mental habits that’s just when you begin to establish a ‘new normal’. For me, it wasn’t until I started stringing 6+ days together that I stopped thinking about it regularly, with the added bonus of reduced tolerance so I’m comfortable with 1-3 drinks instead of ‘ok might as well keep going’. Obviously if you are a full blown alcoholic then this doesn’t apply to you, but my situation was more a mix of boredom and self medication for a particularly stressful period of my life. I was using alcohol as a Time Machine to fast forward through rough patches instead of having a full blown addiction. By the grace of god or the universe I’ll maintain this new relationship with alcohol. My point being that, for people like me, 2-3 dry days at a time wasn’t enough to establish a new normal…instead that was right on the edge between maintaining the habit and building a ‘new normal’…aka it was torturous. Try longer, and if you legit can’t…take a hard look at help. To be fair it took me many tries to get there during my dark days…don’t be too hard on yourself. On a side note, my hardest drinking friend made it all of six days for dry January. I have tried to get her to try 2 drinks then switch to a THC gummy (gentle buzz and I want nothing to do with alcohol when high), instead she just takes the gummy and keeps drinking = beyond wasted.
  15. What OS? Assuming you’ve legit rebooted the system and router (you never know), and the issue happens even sitting right next to it: has it worked fine before? Does it show you connected to the right network in the taskbar icon? If so can you load the routers config page? Often address is 192.168.1.254 If it shows you connected and you can open the routers config page, you likely have an issue where security/MAC filtering settings are blocking your laptop from reaching the outside world over WiFi The fact that it works over wired is a good sign. There’s a lot of other possibilities but have to verify where the hangup is first.
  16. This thread just got good
  17. ‘Remasculate’…yeah because this is peak masculinity I want to learn from
  18. Yep I’m back to Ad AIDS
  19. Until that happens please hide this thread from shadow operative
  20. Well there weren’t literal thousands of people doing it all at the same time with razor wire in a country where safety is barely a word and life is often a disposable asset. Hopefully they can get some enforceable laws in place before the annual lawn dart festival in February.
  21. From another source: ”However, the festival also “sees revellers take place in deadly contests where they try to cut down other kites with their own kite string”, wrote The Mirror. It said these contests lead kite flyers to reinforce their kite strings “with glass powder or even metal, making it sharp enough to lead to the horrific deaths”. Kite flying has become “notorious for causing death and serious injury in India”, said the Daily Mail, with two children dying at the event in 2016. That year the local government in India’s capital Delhi banned the use of sharpened, glass-covered strings, promising to “run campaigns to educate people about the dangers” as well as hand out punishments to those who do use them, said the BBC. In 2017, the National Green Tribunal banned the use of the strings, known as ‘manja’, across India.”
