  1. This thread is a great addition to my “I can’t explain this place to people” collection
  2. I agree on the lack of souvenirs piece, but I do enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing I can’t lose the ticket. What kills me about digital tickets is people who wait until they’re at the gate to fumble out their phone only to realize they don’t have a good connection, can’t figure out the app/wallet or try showing the emailed invoice. Fuck them. Show tickets of any kind have become an absolutely stupid expensive endeavor through TicketMasters monopoly on distribution, venues and artists. I practically lived at Stubbs for a few years at $35/ticket barely a decade ago…now it seems any show anywhere is $120+ once you include the ‘convenience’ fee that you are required to pay. Add on a gamed secondary market, $20 beers, $30 parking, ‘dynamic’ pricing like airlines ruining miles redemption…can be a miserable, expensive experience. Then again, the market seems to support $5,000 Taylor Swift or $25 in fees on a $35 Royals ticket so we collectively enable that shit.
  3. I think about that occasionally and I’ve settled on it depends if my wife/kids are with me. Whole family = getting out of there. Wife only = unsure. By myself = much more likely to Patriot Games it. Regardless, depends on if you have leverage or not. Stupid to charge straight at someone.
  4. All the little bits of chewed up crayons and their wrappers can damage the cockpit systems
  5. SF getting 5 yards a pop running the ball however they want…”well guess it’s time to start throwing it”.
  6. Last years Final Four Of No Fucks Given in the ‘shopping division’ were: HEB Curbside shoppers, Walmart Scooter people, old women at Costco opening and the surprising Cinderella for 2023: Lotto Scratch Offs At The Gas Station.
  7. I’m about to turn 44 and was told the older you get, the more conservative you are…the ‘I got mine’ clause. Frankly, the more confident and financially stable I become, I actually find myself caring more about other’s plights because I have fewer personal existential threats to concern myself with.
  8. The corp world could use more Frank Sobotka. He did what he did not to massively enrich himself or serve shareholders, he put himself in a shit sandwich to protect his crew, help his family and the Union. Compare his motivations to Marlo, relentless and ruthless pursuit of power. They don’t want everyone back in the office for camaraderie, it’s about losing tax breaks. It’s not about serving your constituents, it’s about staying in office. I’m convinced prices stay high because they found people still bought their goods even after legit supply chain issues. In leadership I look up to my dad. Started O3 as a reservist and made the tough choice to go active duty. Despite being almost 40 when he converted to AD, he still retired full bird and didn’t participate in chickenshit with his enlisted folks. They all loved him. He turned down a Group Commander slot, pinnacle of his career, because it was OCONUS and didn’t want to make my mom move overseas for a fourth time. You can serve with distinction in your role and still treat people fairy. And no, I don’t think he woulda returned that xmas tree lol.
  9. Seen pics that show we used one of those ‘Hellfire, Wustof Edition’ that Ginsu’d the dude in his car. Looking at that video, there’s almost zero collateral damage with no blown out windows or bitches crying, throwing money and shit (Boondocks quote). Possible they zoom onto his cell signal from a Reaper. Either way, gotta love the precision when Russia basically goes ‘well we almost hit the right CITY with our Cold War-era cruise missiles’.
  10. Texas Young Republicans? No, no here’s what it’s supposed to say
  11. The constant mic feedback, producing a bastard recreation of every grade-school recorder concert I’ve ever heard, is just the chef’s kiss over all the puffy-chested empty threats.
  12. Reading a thread about it, common worry is iron rail dust from transport rusting when it gets wet. Or idiots using windex on it, the ammonia corrodes the chromium over time. So I dunno, could have been a particularly epic orange sunset reflecting off it (was evening) and I’m just not used to SS cars. It just caught my eye as ‘that looks wrong’
  13. Yesterday saw, what I assume, is the same CT that drove by me a few weeks ago in Brushy Creek. At a quick glance it already has a similar ‘patina’ to my solo stove after a few uses. Given how much rain we’ve had it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s legit rusting already.
  14. Every time shit like this happens I just openly wonder if any of these Pizza the Hutt motherfuckers have a job…rhetorical question of course
  15. Man I’d love to see that doughy mass go through basic and be enlisted infantry. Go watch Restrepo and get ready to ‘tool up’.
  16. In general I utilize comments on most websites as a source of comedy, AI or not. Personally I can’t wait to see Fox News comments blaming Leftist Swift Fanatics for pressuring Biden into cutting solar funding on April 8th.
