San Antonio Spurs 2025-26 - Release the Kraken
I want the deal to happen, but I can't deny that some of the questions being asked by those opposed to Project Marvel are fair questions to ask. Questions to which the answers have been either unclear, evasive, or somewhat concerning. For example, some of the figures being cited are based on non-binding terms, which can be flimsy.

Victor Wembanyama- basketball's NEXT next unicorn?
I hate Kevin Hart, but Wemby comes off incredibly mature and intelligent in this. Two weeks with his strength coach training with Shoalin Monks? On top of one-on-one training with Hakeem?? The league is on fucking notice.

UTRGV commits to add FCS football by 2024
UTRGV would need to run the table for a chance at the 24-team playoff. To do that they have to beat 5-1 (2-0) Lamar in Beaumont and SFA in Nac. Lamar has a notable win over South Dakota (having a down year) and they'll get Southeastern Louisiana at home in Beaumont. SFA won't face Southeastern Louisiana, but they did play Sul Ross at home and crushed them 63-0, which is a common opponent who UTRGV also crushed, 66-0. I don't see Southeastern Louisiana dropping two games in conference play, but even if Lamar beats them and both UTRGV and SFA beat Lamar, the head-to-head advantage would go to Southeastern Louisiana. The conference is perceived as weak, so I don't think there are more bids besides the automatic bid for winning the conference.

San Antonio Spurs 2025-26 - Release the Kraken
We haven't seen the team at full strength yet. 44 projected wins seems a bit disrespectful, but that's still like a ten win improvement over last season, and I believe would be good enough to make the play-in. I'd like to know what you guys think about matchups, and to ask a more specific question, whose lineups do you think will give the full-strength Spurs the most problems, and why?

Spurs 2025 Off Season Thread - Popping Off
Can he win ROY? His production at this level seems to be a bit better compared to Flagg. It's early, and it's a long season, but Harper's got a shot.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
In all seriousness, I will always respect the way he played in that game. The average QB with bad pocket presence and mobility, though? That guy probably takes a bunch of self-sacks and makes bad throws into coverage for pick sixes. The trajectories of games where that happens look very different. They get out of hand very quickly, the team's morale is crushed across the board and if you aren't careful that dejection spills over into the rest of the season

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
This is the point I was making when I said to imagine how the Florida game would've gone without Arch under center. I saw 9.95ers giving him an A grade for this performance in Dallas. I think that's too generous, personally. I have it as a B+ because an A- performance is Texas hitting paydirt in the first half, an A performance is Arch putting up Heisman contending numbers by actually noticing when his receivers are wide open (he failed to spot a couple of those), and an A+ performance is Arch putting up Heisman winning numbers. His performance in Gainesville was a B/B+ as well. So, for those paying attention (not the national media), the gritty way he gave Texas a chance to come back in the 4th quarter in Gainesville was more of a "turning point." My bad for picking Quinn as the hypothetical alternate QB where we get boatraced due to shitty OL/DL/RB/Secondary play. Should've said Hudson Card.

New (?) University in Austin
Apples and Oranges. MAGA State U is for evangelical closet cases. UATX is more like the Xavier Institute but for incels instead of mutants.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
If you swapped Arch for Quinn Ewers in Gainesville, it wouldn't have been 29-21 Gators it would have been 42-0. Arch has so much more poise and ability to navigate the pocket.

Texas vs. ou - 2:30pm on ABC
What I've begun to notice is that every SEC contender has at least one inexplicable bedshitting performance in conference play. Usually a loss, but sometimes an embarrassing failure to cover against an inferior opponent. Florida could have been a bedshitting, but at the time we had no reason to believe the performance in Gainesville was an anomaly. On the other side of the coin, it's possible that OU shit the bed against us, which means we shouldn't read too much into our dominant performance in Dallas. Georgia is beatable, but Kirby Smart seems to know how to outcoach Sark, so at this point I'm not ready to say we run the table. I think we will beat aggy and piggy, but as for every other game on the schedule I don't believe there's enough information to project with confidence that we will win them. Vanderbilt and Georgia especially.
