  1. Per Instagram, new Buzbee presser tomorrow about the west campus girl who fell from 17 stories
  2. Kids' agents are hearing tell of big dollar amounts, then jumping into the portal
  3. Going from "All In" to "Aggressive" today. "Aggressive" to "Judicious" tomorrow. "Judicious" to "Cautiously Optimistic" the next day.
  4. Jagger Jagingjag
  5. Agree. I just wish it was looking better. Slow starts (Sark's forte) don't always mean failure.
  6. The QB is pretty close to the best, and most of the pickups are solid. I'm pretty impressed if you take into consideration that the program has much less time on its hands as they're preparing for Oregon.
  7. That's fair. I just don't understand how behind schedule all this is. If Indiana can sign six by now, there's no reason we cannot also have done so or at the very least there would be sources telling us that the top guys are signaling we're in the lead and the deal is ours to lose.
  8. The problem I see here is that as long as the other guys are willing to pay more, the strategy of lowballing and letting guys walk isn't going to work for us. We've known for months that portal had to be our top priority, and the fact most of the important guys we want haven't already signed is a bad sign.
  9. If we needed to we could get Governor Abbott to call a special session to pass a law forcing all his Florida credits to transfer as 100 A+ credit hours. Plus, for most student athletes, they ain't come to play school.
  10. Well, it currently feels like a massive miscalculation. Could cost Sark's job.
  11. Feels like at least a half dozen guys, none of which are long snappers
  12. Indiana is pantsing everyone in portal recruiting. It's obvious that money talks, and if the portal season closes before we land anyone then I hold most culpable whoever it was advising Texas to play hardball in these negotiations. Wisner and Livingstone might not have been worth what they were asking, but if we couldn't even entice Baugh away from Florida with Juluke, the most likely reason is that we got outbid. Those results are not in alignment with being The Joneses.
  13. anyone still doing this is a liability
  14. This is what the media cheerleaders fail to grasp. But sure, this time the regime change idea will work.
  15. He dreamed of having an NFL career. He patiently waited for his shot. He now has his shot, and I believe he has proven himself worthy of a roster slot. Is he a franchise QB? Remains to be seen, so far no (but you can say that about all but a handful of rookie QBs and none from this draft). But if his dream was to be on a roster, I think at the very least he's shown himself to be a capable backup. If Miami really will make him QB1 next season that's fucking amazing and I'm so proud of and happy for him.
  16. I would have respected him a lot more if he didn't try to play the whole "lifetime longhorn, this is where my heart is" angle. Just embrace being a mercenary, but don't fucking lie about how badly you wanted to stay as you're taking calls from burnt vegetables
  17. His comment is either a lie (he wanted to stay but wasn't allowed to stay) or misleading (he was willing to stay if his demand were met, and his demand wasn't met). There's no other way to read that comment. If he's lying, that's shitty. If he's trying to mislead the reader, that's also shitty, and yes it's also an attack because he is, or his agent is, or most likely both are, upset they couldn't get more than a mid-six NIL rev-share. That or Bobby's and the other 995ers' source(s) are all lying, and I don't see why they'd lie about that having been on the table for Livingstone. He did not have to include that comment in his little farewell post. Every other departing player has managed to express gratitude without saying something that's, at best, misleading and that cannot be interpreted any other way but as laying blame to the organization for pushing him out.
  18. Oh and his second most successful season, our best receiver was a portal guy we got from Georgia.
  19. We really really never should have let Chip walk
  20. Sark's most successful season is when he completely raided the portal for WRs. Isaiah Bond who was playing like our our top receiver before he got injured in Dallas, Silas Bolden who gave 100% on every snap and made big play after big play, and oh yeah some guy who saved our asses by the name of Matthew Golden. The portal has definitely surpassed HS recruiting in importance, and I don't believe bringing guys in that way is an obstacle to having a culture, either.
  21. Not sure we win that game even with Wemby back. It's the same damn problems over and over
  22. Livingstone got more than his fair share of red zone targets (and corresponding TDs) early in the season, when the joke was that only white guys were allowed to score TDs. That is also the part of the season when we sucked the most. He made some good catches, to be sure, even after the Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi State games. But if Bobby is right about a mid-six NIL being on the table, that's more or less the most I'd be willing to pay. I don't believe he will develop or produce more than what we'd already seen. It's really the Wisner thing all over again. Is Livingstone's agent anyone with a respectable reputation? I don't believe you'd walk away from the spillover perks of being Arch Manning's roommate unless you're being told (wrongly) that you're leaving serious money on the table by taking a mid-six offer.
  23. It's not hard to push a narrative through the 995ers' sources. Not that I agree that a narrative has been pushed, but it's very common for organizations to leak stories as part of a broader PR strategy.
