As I have heard it, Ambrosia was going to try to move away from soft rock and into heavier metal, but David Pack wrote this and it went top 3, and they said "fuck it, (yacht) rock it is!"

and while I respect that, now its time for us to gloat more.... you got stone cold robbed.  Whoever you sold them to is still laughing at their great deal.

ENDZONE seats were going for $2000 for that game, maybe $2,500.

assuming your dad with his long history had yard-line seat those were worth shitloads more.  $3k for 20 yard line, roughly $4k or more for 30 yard line.

I had my 2 tickets in my clear lanyard around my neck when I got off the bus that took us to the game,  as soon as I stepped off the bus, some guy in USC gear runs up to me fanning lots of $100 bills, he said "I dont care where your seats are I will give you $4k for the pair" I said no, and he countered with $2k for 1 ticket.... I walked away (yes Gary, when you read this, I got offered $2k for your ticket and I was nice enough to not sell it).

Oh, I know it full well.  We got one free and 3 at face because my wife was a volunteer for the Tournament of Roses.  But the TofR tracks online ticket sales so we had to go through a broker who flipped them to Texas fans.  He made money, but I was happy to clear about $3,500.  Oh, and ours we corner endzone.  My FIL got about 20 tix.  No idea how much he made.he got his last set 2 days before he passed in December, so the wife and kids and I went to the Georgia/OU game in his honor, even though we could have sold them, and it was a finominle game.

Its probably stated in the other thread but girls in BSA require their own troop/patrols/scoutmaster.  Girl and Boy troops within a chartered org can share a committee but thats about it.  They can't just join a regular troop and be put into a patrol.

Only Venturing (age 14-21) is co-ed.

This graphic explains it fairly well.

This is very interesting, and I am quite certain our Troop leader is not aware of this.  Thanks.

Wow. Step Brothers is 10 years old.

And would be at the top of my list if we were talking about the last 10 years.  My son and I quote it almost daily (which my wife hates and can't believe I let him watch when he was 12).  He bought me this shirt, which I am going to be wearing on my sail out to Catalina tomorrow.

  5. Since we don't have a dedicated Boy Scout thread, I'll post here.  At last night's Court of Honor, it was announced that our troop is going to allow girls starting in 2019.  It is being driven by 2 dads.  They approached the Greater LA council, who then shoved it down our troops throat.  It will be very interesting to see how it will work.  It has not been decided if they will form a separate patrol withing the troop or be integrated into existing patrols.

Another sign that I am losing my America.

  6. My stomach turns when I think of all the records I just gave away to a Thrift Shop my mom was involved in.  So many unbelievable albums, but I had moved on to CD's and considered them obsolete.

The venture capitalists never dumped. They couldn’t. The company was never publicly traded and money raised went to the company not investors. These “vultures” lost hundreds of millions.

Yep, they never got the IPO cash out.  Boom went bust.

  8. I did a behind the scenes tour of the Rose Bowl this past Saturday.  My FIL, who was a 50+ year member of the Tournament of Roses and about the biggest Trojan honk on earth, passed in December and one of his dying wishes were that some of his ashes be strewn on the field.  Which is illegal so of course we didn't do that (cough).  But I posted this pic in another thread.  This is now prominently displayed below the press boxes on ground level.

My favorite memory was selling our 4 seats to the game for $1,000 ea to Texas fans.
