  1. Well this is a great scheme married with great talent. We’ve had great qb talent with Vince and Colt and a mediocre scheme that kicked ass with some top tier talent around them. I think we’ve only had a great scheme once before with mackovic … especially in the run game. It was really something to watch. That mfer knew what he was doing. Too bad he was a massive prick and let other parts of the program go to shit.
  2. Well back in the day we played piggy the week after ou. There was no surprise or trap game there. We were always ready to play but in some cases a little beat up from the game in Dallas. this should be an ass kicking. We are healthy and getting better week to week on both sides of the ball. campbell and his five star culture bs is about to fafo.
  3. The thing about 1990 UH was the amount of booze imported to the stadium and absolute mayhem in the crowd. I’ve never seen anything like the drunken rage experienced that night. That crowd wanted to eat …. Basically pissed off and ready to fight plus the whisky. Might never be replicated.
  4. OU has a culture problem. The players are not locked in like previous teams. I may or may not have a kid at ou and I may or may not have attended the ksu game two weeks ago and I may or may not stayed out really really late at an unnamed ou frat party with said kid where a shitload of ou players showed up at the party trying to chase tail after getting the ever living shit beat out of them by that mexican ksu qb. Saw the same shit in the 80s at Texas over and over. Ou has no real pipe hitting leaders that say ‘get your ass to the field at 7 am Sunday morning to work this shit out’. Instead they’re out partying till 2 am after an embarrassing loss. Hard to believe but I think our culture is far superior to ou at this point with roschon and crew. I will be shocked if we don’t beat the shit of those fools this weekend. free money if you have the appetite.
  5. I think it will just be a negotiated buyout and won’t go public to destroy the program. Nice and quite. Jumbo moves on to dream job at WV.
  6. Off the top of my head … OU money is well behind the following SEC schools - Bama, UGa, Fla, Vandy, aggy, Mizzoo, Tenn On par with LSU, Arky, UK, Auburn Ahead of Miss, Miss St, USC. Texas is well ahead of all of them plus unmatched corporate opportunities in Austin. It’s a numbers game …
  7. Card is a dual threat guy playing in the wrong offense. The Sark scheme asks him to process quickly and stretch the field with arm talent. Just a bad mix IMO and would do better in another offense … Just not Sarks. What we get from Card now is about as good as it’s going to get.
  8. So OU is on the way to a 10 - 15 down period. Maybe longer depending on timing of NIL regulations. Riley saw it coming and bolted to a school that could pay a staff AND buy a roster. OU is a broke ass school and the alumni don’t have deep pockets. They will still pull decent talent out of Texas and sprinkle in talent from around the country but can’t keep up with the arms race like Texas , USC, and others. Oh and their coaching staff is straight ass. Could be a close game this week or a Texas blowout. But I expect it to get more lopsided for the horns in te coming years.
  9. worthy. He’s a great speed guy but has significant limitations on deep and contested balls. Think about rebounding in basketball. Some dudes that are 6’3 to 6’5 just have a knack for the ball and can consistently beat power forwards and centers for the ball. It can’t be taught - they just have it. It’s the ass and hips and elbows and hands and eyes. Worthy will never have it and we need to adjust our expectations accordingly - and look for other roster options to make those plays where someone can fuckin high point a ball. Worthy ain’t it but can still be a big threat in the offense going forward.
  10. aggy band talk not going away. This is pretty much a sad subject for aggy and those that have knowledge of the band interverse. Carry on I guess.
  11. Don’t hire Traylor. Hire Frank fuckin Harris. Without that dude, this was going to be a 50 point win if not more even with Card at QB. That dude played his ass off. Traylor better find a new gig at the end of the year before getting exposed next year without Harris and those receivers.
  12. Well the targeting call on the (non) safety followed by the review guy being unable to see the qbs leg was down were not incompetence. That’s straight up fuckery on a game changing play. The subsequent fuck-ups might be incompetence but I doubt it. I don’t think they were there to protect Alabama’s path to the playoff. Why would they give a shit? Pretty obvious the b12 anti Texas is stronger than ever. A little surprised they would do it on such a big stage … edit. The review guy might be from the SEC so that probably explains why they didn’t call the safety via review.
  13. UH90 might have been more rowdy and loud but I remember that game was either a night kick or at least a 2:30 kick. The amount of booze involved was staggering.
  14. Dude it’s obvious. He will be fired for cause. NCAA investigation into last years class will make it easy enough. Evidence of cheating will magically appear. The only thing I’m surprised about is how fast it’s likely to happen.
  15. If Mathis is #32 on the end … doesn’t look very good.
  16. Catching up on this thread is a beating I won’t soon forget. Tom fucking Herman? I can’t wait for all the revisionist posts down the road praising sark as he turns this ship around. If you can’t see it coming then get your eyes checked. From the proven staff in place to the recruits they are bringing in (especially in the trenches) to the newly funded payroll … there is literally nothing pointing down. All arrows are pointing up. Herman and his G5 Jackwagons drove this program into the ground. No line play and they absolutely survived on Sam hero ball and drove him into the ground in the process. Just enjoy the ride. I wouldn’t want to play this team come November and beyond when this offense is clicking. Wish I was on campus for it instead of the shit late 80s.
  17. It’s 9. Bama and KU are losses. We will drop one more to either OSU, OU, or Baylor. The others aren’t going to keep up with this offense.
  18. Collins …. Recall the under armor or all american game or some such coming out of high school. He was repeatedly punk’d by some tackle headed to tosu. I remember thinking ‘this kid is a five star?’ He was pushed to the ground over and over - don’t remember him winning a single snap. It’s put up or get in the mfer for Collins this fall.
  19. Way to fucking soon. why don’t you post picks from the okst game fuck job while you’re at it? Yeah just fuck the big12 - get ready for more this year. I can’t imagine a scenario where we get treated fairly against tech, baylor, tcu, ok st, wvu, iowa st.
  20. Well we haven’t lost our spot at the top of the revenue / value heap even though we’ve had the worst 10 year stretch in our history. Relax.
  21. Also forgot to add that we are about to embark on a historic run of goner beat-downs. Give LR credit for seeing it coming and gtfo to usc.
  22. It’s not necessarily what I want but you have to recognize that fox and the b1g just went national and are going to look to add brands that they can sell nationally - like the domers, usc, and Texas. In the pay for play era you also want alumni with deep pockets that will crank out quality year after year - like the domers, usc, and Texas. Unregulated semi pro ball just took away the one dirty advantage the sec has capitalized on. Saban sees it and will be punching out soon. The poors in the sec simply won’t be able to keep up save for a few.
  23. Fox and b1g are basically betting that the regional paradigm of college football in the semi pro era is dead. If so, I think fox and b1g have a unique opportunity right now while ESPN is slow rolling TX and ou. Fox and b1g should bag nd and then do whatever it takes to steal TX and the gooners before the sec ink dries. B12 buyout? It’s covered. A conf of mich, tosu, nd, usc, tx, ou, and yes even neb would have unmatched national content with seven of the eight ‘bluebloods’ in football. Wisc, msu, ucla, iowa, pedo are more than adequate next tier draws for national tv eyeballs. Throw in mia for the florida markets and flow of money through fox and 3rd tier rights would dwarf what espn could do with the sec, acc, and b12/pac scraps. Two or three premier matchups each weekend with other schools that actually play school. Better than having a bunch of inbreds and aggy invading Austin 2-3 times a year.
  24. You know I was super high on Terrance brooks based on what I saw when he was in high school. But didn’t he completely whiff on a couple weak arm tackles in the spring game? Like he was afraid of the contact? Maybe I saw it wrong …
