NFL Wildcard Weekend
Whoever thought it would be a good idea to have TJ Watt just always crash on the Zone Read... Is going to get fired.

Where Should I Retire...?
And I know a place in Boulder that has it. Just stumbled upon this thread. The youngest is a jr in HS. I'm probably not retiring until he actually launches, so 6 years, which would have me staring down 60. My oldest is in school at ASU and my sister lives in Phoenix. Coworkers all over greater PHX. Nobody likes the summer. Son plans to move to Ft Collins or thereabout when he graduates ASU. Youngest son had interest in CU Boulder (probably because of Prime mania and nothing else). I have co-workers and customers in DEN area, so have spent time there. Having said all of that, PHX and DEN are the top two spots I would consider. Raleigh is 3rd. The problem is I like the beach and want to be close to it. So does Mrs. Slacks. I'm going to try to check out S. Carolina this summer. I should buy a place in Costa Rica while I still can.

Texas O-line talk
Nobody said always. Connors problem is one of Size/Strength (and technique). His lack of strength at the point of attack gets him ragdolled. Williams, Studdard, Blalock weren't giants but they were big/strong enough not to get tossed aside in college.

2024 Season Thread of sadness.
Y'all some sad hoes. I'm sad that I will have to come up with other excuses to spend entire Saturdays with @Ldogg53 and some of our closest friends.

I think you are correct. And OZ meant the big players had to go catch smaller faster players to be successful. Conner wasn't strong enough and routinely got thrown to the ground or otherwise shedded.

Texas O-line talk
Am I making things up or did Conner get his ass kicked on the goal line plays? Whomever replaced him has to have better feet and/or strength, right?

This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
That's not stubborn. That's playing the probabilities. Getting half a yard 4 times is reasonable.

Right play, wrong personnel. Iirc, they were killing us with the 2 back all game. They killed the whole season in 2 back.

We ran this play against someone else toward the end of the year. Maybe UGA? Outnumbered and asking a G to beat the much faster safety to the point and leave the RB with one to beat... It didn't work then, either. Check into a straight up RPO and hand the ball off on the dive. They can't sell out to play run because of the pass threat (that we never run in that spot).

Big 12 Championship. Check. Big bowl wins, check. Back to Back top 5 finishes. Check. I didn't say Quinn was better. I'm just not catching on with him being a spare. You doing get from where we were to where we are with a spare QB. Bro is carrying a a 2.5ypc rushing game against top teams. And we're putting it on him for some reason.

I do not agree. If we had shown any ability to run the ball over the last several games, we probably win the SEC and the Championship. If your G/C are getting blown out, you can't win championships. I couldn't see the game (so l will watch tonight). But I'm willing to bet this game resembled the last several, which do not resemble the typical Sark offense that is predicated on establishing the run between the tackles. Figure out what needs to happen to RUN THE BALL effectively.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
My understanding is that Sark prefers IZ as the better RPO setup. I think he also prefers a bigger back, so....

This lineup (minus Tari) was nasty last year with Tate in the Tari spot. Even Cam will play team defense, this will show up often.
