  1. Folks say that Mi Tierra is touristy. Maybe. But it would not be there without a lot of regulars. They put out great food.
  2. My only IRL encounter with Bill Cosby was there at about 6:30 am one day many years ago. I simply acknowledged that I recognized him. He looked very tired.
  3. I'll get shot down for this, but I have never had a bad breakfast at Mi Tierra. Menudo, caldo, carne guisada, eggs, enchiladas, tamales. Very solid.
  4. Chicken leg quarters and a sausage link FTW. Good prices there!
  5. You never disappoint, Nicole!
  6. Out of town for Arky and aggy tailgates. Looks like a great party. That is a big pig! Put some heat on it. I've never done one more than 50# or so, but they can be rarer than you expect. Hard to overcook a whole pig! Especially with skin on.
  7. Total smokeshow!
  8. Total smoke show! We are not worthy, Nicole! (But we are not ungrateful!)
  9. Pork fat like you use for sausage and lots of manteca de puerco!
  10. West End, in general, is pretty out of favor these days. Need to Brass Ram downtown.
  11. Don't want to upset the Surls, but I had a really good business dinner at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse in downtown Dallas tonight. Client liked the Texas vibe. Prices were not obscene. Food and service was excellent.
  12. Point well taken! Kidding with you. I'm downtown mostly when in Dallas, so I understand the geography considerations.
  13. That's fine, but I'll stick with Jimmy's 9 times out of 10!
  14. Agreed. Was there on Saturday afternoon with the bride. No pics!
