Looking to get something to teach my kids about guns and how to shoot. Thinking either a Ruger Bearcat or Sr22. Thoughts or suggestions? 10 and 12 years old.
I started my kids (albeit younger than yours, probably around 8-9) with a single shot rifle/shotgun .223/.20 gauge with a switchable barrel. Crack 'em open, put in a bullet or a shell, close it, take it off safety, shoot and eject. Not much doubt about whether the gun was loaded and they learned to take a good shot the first time. They graduated to a pump .20 gauge and a bolt .243 after a couple of years of practice.

Only been once. Whatever I got had raisins in it. My Sooner boss loved it.
Pork Chile Relleno. Good choice. I am a fan of their Mole sauce. Either with baked chicken or with enchiladas, IIRC.

Wait...do you know what CR means?
You believe that debating whether it was right or wrong to take down Civil War monuments that celebrate a side that were in favor of slavery in the middle of the night versus giving notice and having a deliberative process is not a conversation that belongs in the Cloak Room?
Governor Hogg wasn't even born until 1851. Never had anything to do with the Civil War.

Nothing wrong with moving to an oven after that much time -- there is only so much smoke flavor you are gonna get, anyway. I assume you've already wrapped it?

It only took 5 posts to CR. Good work
That's not CR. Removing those statues in the middle of the night with no notice and no open deliberative process is not our standard.

I'd compare the quality and scene favorably with Javier's in Dallas or Armando's in Houston.
Good comparison, except that Thursday nights at Armando's is an amazing experience.

I just said I was white and that I was a Texan. They accepted that answer.
Good for you. I answered as "white" and "american" -- we both are probably going to prison.

Now for a 1% update: ACC was open....until today. A member of the kitchen staff has Covid-19 (and is unfortunately in the hospital) so they closed the club.
The most absurd part of the situation is that up until a few days agon they allowed you to use all facilities except the gym and pool if you signed a waiver.
The Austin Club switched over to a "to go" only model two weeks ago. Still excellent food. Really low price points, around $15 per entree. Even Easter buffet is around $25. I assume that they are just trying to find a way to support their key staff. My bet is that private clubs and hotels will end up being the only "fine dining" spots still open after the smoke clears. Welcome back to the 1950's and 1960's in Texas, before Governor Connally pushed through "Liquor by the Drink"

The Governor specifically exempted hunting and fishing from his "Shelter in Place Order" yesterday -- so let's get to it!

I had 4 of my 50 undergrads show up for my first Zoom meeting yesterday.
We had 100% turnout on a Zoom happy hour with 9 of my fellow drunken frat brothers last week. Win!

LOL China, come the fuck on assholes. When is that line going into the negative? What a god damn joke.
Perhaps a bit of an outlier?

Looks like they’re trying to distinguish death by COVID and death due to COVID w/ underlying conditions to argue it’s not as bad as “THE MEDIA!!!” is making it
There is a huge difference between deaths "caused by CV-19" and deaths "associated with CV-19." There's probably not a lot of effort being placed upon that distinction while in the heat of battle, but it will certainly be studied for years to come.

Perhaps there might be a pattern of Asian countries being less than totally forthcoming about the CV-19? As the article implies (perhaps better said -- as it points out), Japan's explosion related to CV-19 coincides nicely with the Olympics postponement. Hmmm...

Gumbo's on the Square in Georgetown has had some good grocery deals -- including TP! They also have daily prepared to-go food menus on their website.

Under. And I'm talking about those who actually died of it vs. those who had it and also died. To that point, I am dubious as to the accuracy of numbers coming from Italy, Louisiana and China. The first two being potential overcounts and China undercounting. My suspicions relate from them being outliers in the deaths per million in population stats (plus, I don't trust the ChiComs.)

If the new gig is what you want to do and is a better prospect than your current deal, go for it. You are in your 30's and single -- what's not to like about that? Comp? Do some research. If the #'s are in the range of reasonableness, ask for a 50-75% pay bump. All they can do is say no or negotiate down. They want you. You are in the driver's seat. Good luck.

PSA. Kroger has packer choice briskets for 1.99 per pound.
Solid news. Thanks.
"Buy straw hats in the winter” (out of season, when the prices are cheapest) is an old Wall Street proverb that’s usually credited to financier Russell Sage (1816-1906)

The bride just scored a 17 lb turkey at the grocery store as there were no chickens and only 2 smaller turkeys. My normal drill is to spatchcock and wet brine a turkey for a couple of days before smoking it. I want to try something different, aside from frying. Ideas? Thanks.

Think any of their landlords are gonna be quick to boot em out? Think ending the bans a month early is gonna solve that?
I would direct you to Frederic Bastiat's classic essay known in English as "What is Seen and What is Unseen" -- it's easy to look at one month's lost rent as solely being the problem for a landlord, but there are a hell of a lot of consequences that derive from the underlying event. YMMV. Cheers.

My daughter, who is an RN in a large Texas hospital, got sent to the bench along with many others last week because the hospital is empty while they wait to be overrun by CV-19 patients. I call bullshit. We shall see.
