  1. Blazing Saddles, Airplane!, Caddyshack, Animal House, and I am sure many others, could never be released today. We are doomed.
  2. Good point. Summer of 42, Jaws, Shaft, Godfather II, or American Graffiti were movies that I took girls to the drive-in (remember those?) in my Mach I.
  3. Good times! You would have loved the red upholstery while you were eating fries and ketchup from Holiday House or Top Notch!
  4. My car was a big thing to me. I washed it in the morning before I went to school if it needed it. I drove it on Mesa and Burnet road at night a bunch. It looked like this one (though I've always been a fan of blackwall tires, so I would have turned those tires around): The hazing was not a thing in my world.
  5. Dazed and Confused was exactly my HS experience in NW Austin. Late 1970s.
  6. Costco thick steaks and lamb racks, shanks, and chops totally kick ass. (Who gives a F about chicken or pork? Those are commodity products.) Costco wine selection is really great. Agree that other bulk products are basically the same at both shops.

    Asian

My bride heard the same thing about that place. We have only done Thai and Vietnamese for the past decade. It is on our list.
  8. I don't disagree. I really care more about Longhorn baseball, and that is a total farm system for MLB.
  9. Time Stand Still -- RIP Neil Peart:
  10. Such bullshit to use CPI as a cover for increasing toll rates. The interest rates on the bonds they sold to build the toll roads have not increased. Maybe they are gonna use the extra money to pay off the bonds early and stop charging tolls? /sarc
  11. Wow! There is some big-time humble brag going on here. Good for y'all! Carry on.
  12. You should have put a spoiler on that post! I can't unsee the horror. Cheese Whiz enchiladas?
  13. The NEISD recipe calls for topping the enchiladas with gravy when served. This lets the cheese get bubbly and maybe a bit crunchy.
  14. You should be good on beer/wine at normal hours at grocery stores this weekend.
  15. Pretty sure that Dallas dry stuff in the 1990s was at a precinct level within a county. And yes, the big liquor retailers were very active politically to preserve those dry statuses so as to keep their stores located on the boundaries very profitable.
  16. Me, too. I am behind the times. It looks like they changed the law in 2018/19. No more 3.2. Full strength beer is now legal in OU Sucks. I'm guessing that meth had gained a big competitive advantage over weak beer.
  17. Chili gravy is what makes it great! Congrats.
