  1. My bride could eat her weight in Rudy's smoked turkey. Thankfully, she seldom gets over 100#!
  2. Do this. You will be legend.
  3. I was hoping Parisa. Have a great weekend of quality outdoor activity.
  4. I like the location of the thermometer. Down by where the action is happening.
  5. My Dad remarried pretty quickly when my Mom died in her 60s. The good news is that the woman he married was 4-5Xs wealthier than my Dad and had grown kids that I was friendly with. They only went in jointly on their new main house and a lake house. When she died, my Dad was able to buy out her half of the real estate from her kids and errybody went on their merry way.
  6. We added an ADU in rural Williamson County just using a contractor we had worked with before on some remodeling. We told him what we were trying to accomplish and he came up with some good ideas and made it happen. Very trouble-free.
  7. Many years ago near Brady we built some big pens like that with welded and cemented iron posts and such. The ranch sold six months later, we lost the lease, and we were out a bunch of money! Hope they are enjoying our pens!
  8. You may be underestimating the amount of time that you'll spend putting them back up after the hogs knock them down.
  9. Homeschooling Dad here. Preach! (P.S. both of my kids ended up getting 4 years degrees at the university of their choice and are adulting very well.)
  10. Good decision. Way too small of a place to high fence without some odd genetics happening.
  11. I think that Tarzan sold it to somebody else. Time to focus on the north store. I really enjoy sitting at that bar watching football and eating salt and pepper calamari with their crack sauce!
  12. On a related note: Today I was at The Wagon Wheel in Eagle Pass and had the largest chicken fried steak in the world.
  13. I'm with you. My dear departed Great Grandmother (a true daughter of the Republic of Texas from deep East Texas - Sabine County) always just made fried chicken in a cast-iron skillet with a little bit of (homemade) lard and butter. The buttermilk soak was also mandatory. We kids always had feather picking duty after the birds were dispatched.
  14. If we are going back to the old days in Fort Worth - I think that Massey's has entered the building:
  15. That's my gun. An inherited Savage 99 with a lever action. Great gun. I started my son out with a .243. Less kick and fine for close in shots that you want kids to take when they are learning.
  16. I've bet I've bought a dozen laptops from Discount Electronics over the years and have never broken the $300 barrier except when I added a big ass SSD drive. I like doing business with them.
  17. If this is a "in The Domain" thread, my vote is North Italia. Yeah, I know it is a chain, but it is a pretty good one.
  18. Wrong UT sorority. Plus Nicole was at the Surly tailgate (looking hot in a shirtdress and boots) on Saturday.
