  1. The amount we pay him means jack shit. We are in the tax with or without him. Might as well pay what it takes to keep him.
  2. Doesn’t change the fact that they are a dumpster fire and cannot pay more money. JB is a fine player, but he’s not carrying an organization to the playoffs. I really hope we somehow find a way, if this happens, to get our pick back next year.
  3. Is JB seriously going to go to that dumpster fire in NY? They can’t even offer more money. Just a truly odd deal. I love JB, but there’s is no way that will end well for the Knicks or for him.
  4. Apparently his catch and shoot numbers were very good. I guess that bodes well considering he’s not going to be a primary ball-handler here.
  5. In the end I guess this doesn’t really hurt if it doesn’t work, but this guy had some awful shooting percentages in the G league. Not sure I really see much here, but here’s to hoping Nico found a gem.

Love the quote but way too late for Acosta to go to Europe. He might be able to find a spot in the Bundesliga 2 or something but I'm not sure the money is going to be that much better.
  7. Can't tell you how cool this is for me personally. Born and raised in Dallas but my Dad despised soccer so I was never even aware the 1994 World Cup was in my own backyard. Now 32 years later I will be able to take my now 4-year old son to a World Cup match. Pretty damn pumped about it.
  8. I'm sure some of this has to do with where he was playing, but promising nonetheless.
  9. Just listening to Stein and didn’t realize Sweeney coached Wood I’m Detroit. Seems like he would know all there is to know about him.
  10. He averaged double the rebounds of Powell. I guess that bar is pretty low, though.
  11. I don't understand what Houston is doing here. Can someone explain it to me? Do they just really want another pick that bad and wanted to get something for Wood while they could?

Wow Honduras beat Canada in Nations League last night. Nations League is a joke, but what a an awful window this has been for Canada in prepping for the WC. Cancelled a game, beat a lowly Curacao team, and lost to Honduras in a game that was ugly. I'm not sure they learned much of anything this window.

I think people have wishful thinking about Weah at the 9. At some point you have got to try it instead of rolling it out in the WC for the first time. Greg isn't going to try it.
  14. If Josh Green doesn't play Summer League than I would suspect his time here is going to be short. It's very odd they didn't try to give him minutes last summer. Dude needs minutes in actual basketball games.

Well I guess there’s only one thing left to do then…

I'm not so sure we're screwed with that result in the first two. Wales is going to have their depth tested while playing England the 3rd game. I'm not sure how Wales is going to score on them, to be honest. But I agree, we need to have 3 points going into the England game so we can rotate the squad. The thing that has always screwed us in the past is we've had to work so hard to get out of the group and we have nothing left in the tank for the knockouts stages.

Calling my shot: USA 1-Wales 1 USA 0-England 2 USA 3-Iran 1 Advancement will depend on goal differential in Wales-Iran game.

I want to see Reyna play injury-free soccer for a month before I start penciling him in to lineups. For me, he is at-best a super-sub at the moment. I think there's going to be ample time in these 3 games to get everyone minutes, so I actually think we have a really great problem in the midfield. I don't think the lack of an in-form 9 means we're doomed offensively, but if we combine that with the terrible set piece service from CP, that's not good. Key things we need going into the fall is a keeper who is actually playing club ball and Chris Richards to get healthy and in-form. I think we have the squad to get results against Wales and Iran, but I have some serious concerns when we need to have a tactical adjustment during a game. It seems like we have zero ability to come up with a plan B. Example like today when Uruguay switched to a 4-4-2 and shredded us. To me, this all comes down to the first game. Win the game vs Wales and that gives you tons of options the rest of group play. A draw obviously doesn't kill you, but I'd rather go into the Iran game needing a draw rather than a win to advance.

Yedlin is a big bag of nothing to me. No touch and is a liability. I know Dest will be the starter anyway, but cannon should be ahead of him.
  20. I think you’re going to have to identify needs and prioritize which ones you’d like to address because they don’t have the flexibility to address everything this off-season. I’d love to see them get Looney for rebounding and better rim protection and then find a guy in the draft. That combined with THJ should make you a better team next season.
  21. Let me re-phrase: why would Chicago let him walk? Surely they're going to make an effort to re-sign him, right?

I don’t follow AFC much so I have no idea where this Moroccan team is on the quality scale. For what it’s worth, they are ranked 24 compared to Iran at 21. I guess this was to try to get a similar quality opponent.

Not sure how much we learned tonight. Morocco was not a good team.

Anybody know how Morocco compares to Iran?
