  1. I also didn't realize we're going to play the loser of Costa Rica and Mexico. Knockouts are going to be really tough with this group we have.
  2. Agreed. This is was satisfying, to me, in a weird way. The team needs to learn how to solve problems like the one presented tonight, and I thought the 2nd half showed a lot of promise despite it only being 1-0. I do think we need to figure out who the mids are going to be. I guess Adams and Berhalter?
  3. First half was very bland. Was glad to see them make the adjustments and really take over the game in the 2nd. Overall, zero goals given up after 2 games. Still room to grow offensively.
  4. I like the fight there. More passion than we’ve seen in a year from the A team.
  5. Fuck yea, Richards! Great ball from Berhalter.
  6. I actually don’t think Adams helps much against a bunkering team. Give me some Aaronson and see if he can wreak havoc, though.
  7. More balls in the box like that, Arfsten. Stop being cute and just play the ball.
  8. Yea playing through Arfsten is certainly a choice.
  9. How is it so hard to align video and audio? Does this shit happen when they do baseball or football games?
  10. Seeing some weird price action for the next game in Arlington so I ended up buying. Got lower bowl right next to midfield for $109 per ticket. Not bad.
  11. I'd still rather have him in-form and tearing up the Eredivisie than getting spot starts with Fulham or some other PL team. Dude needs to play.
  12. Pepi needs to stay at PSV this year and play consistent minutes. He missed the World Cup last time partially because he didn't start getting consistent minutes until late in the cycle.
  13. Canada giving Honduras the T&T treatment. Have to think they are the favorite to win this thing.
  14. I've heard they are both extremely difficult to work for from people who would know. I'm sure you have your own dealings with them, though.
  15. Jamaica had just smoked them a few days ago in World Cup qualifiers. Good for Guatemala.
  16. What a weird ride it is for those working there. I worked there briefly and even then they had been on a roller coaster deciding if they were selling, going public, or staying private. The Huddlestones sound like a pain to deal with.
  17. Jerry World for Sunday looks even worse. I’m going but am not buying tickets until the day of. I’m hoping to get midfield seats for less than $100.
  18. Looks like Seattle hung pretty tough with Botafogo. I'll be interested to see if LAFC can keep it remotely close against Chelsea today.
  19. Honestly, if they switched this tournament to every 4 years like Europe and South America, it would be a way better event. Yes, there still wouldn't be great teams, but everyone would be sending their A squads. Instead, we do it every 2 and they charge stupidly high ticket prices.
  20. I still don’t think he should have skipped it. Glad to see the group rebound though. Watching this Haiti-Saudi Arabia game and they are terrible. Not sure if Saudi is missing some players due to club World Cup, but it’s tough to understand how they beat Argentina.
  21. Bayern just shredding Auckland. These two teams don’t belong anywhere near the same field.
  22. Game day. Let’s turn the vibes around.
  23. Found this pod with Landon and Tim to be interesting. They address all the CP criticism in the first half:
  24. I will say, a shitty part about hosting the WC is not having qualifiers. The whole process is a roller coaster but the games actually mean something. That's my biggest issue. We are simply squandering the precious few opportunities we have to build. This team isn't good enough to flip a switch and make a run.
  25. Last night was a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with US Soccer. Players sitting out, the coach throwing a terrible lineup out there, and on top of it, charging extremely high prices for a friendly so the stands aren't full. But thank god they're maximizing revenue. Sure are making good use of that. Going to US games, even friendlies used to be so much freaking fun. It felt like a brotherhood in some ways. I know the attendance said 20k yesterday, but color me skeptical. Can't help but thinking back to when I first really became a fan. In 2007 when we played Ecuador in a random friendly in March, 30k+ people showed up to watch it. Think about how empty the stadium would be if we were to play that game this year.
