Just got back. I get the Agyemang hate, I really do. But watching in person gave me a lot of perspective and how much of an absolute handful he is for central defenders to deal with. Haiti was a very large team in the back but they were on the ground all night.
Tillman is an absolute stud on defense. Should have had 2 more goals to go with it.
My initial thought on the goal conceded was Ream should not have played the ball. But watching the replay, yea, keeper effed up there.
If we finished our chips, this would have been a blowout. Hopefully better finishing to come in the knockouts.
Took the boy to his first game ever tonight so went for the good seats.
Overall, the crowd filled in pretty nicely for such a large stadium. I had way lower expectations.
I’m very interested to see how few people are at Jerry World today. I grabbed a pair in the lower bowl right next to the midfield for $109 per ticket. Not bad.
Is he a starter? No. Is he in the discussion to make the roster? At this moment, yes. We’ll see how he looks when he goes up against Costa Rica or Mexico.
Agreed. This is was satisfying, to me, in a weird way. The team needs to learn how to solve problems like the one presented tonight, and I thought the 2nd half showed a lot of promise despite it only being 1-0.
I do think we need to figure out who the mids are going to be. I guess Adams and Berhalter?
First half was very bland. Was glad to see them make the adjustments and really take over the game in the 2nd. Overall, zero goals given up after 2 games. Still room to grow offensively.
Seeing some weird price action for the next game in Arlington so I ended up buying. Got lower bowl right next to midfield for $109 per ticket. Not bad.
Pepi needs to stay at PSV this year and play consistent minutes. He missed the World Cup last time partially because he didn't start getting consistent minutes until late in the cycle.
What a weird ride it is for those working there. I worked there briefly and even then they had been on a roller coaster deciding if they were selling, going public, or staying private. The Huddlestones sound like a pain to deal with.
Jerry World for Sunday looks even worse. I’m going but am not buying tickets until the day of. I’m hoping to get midfield seats for less than $100.
Honestly, if they switched this tournament to every 4 years like Europe and South America, it would be a way better event. Yes, there still wouldn't be great teams, but everyone would be sending their A squads. Instead, we do it every 2 and they charge stupidly high ticket prices.
I still don’t think he should have skipped it. Glad to see the group rebound though.
Watching this Haiti-Saudi Arabia game and they are terrible. Not sure if Saudi is missing some players due to club World Cup, but it’s tough to understand how they beat Argentina.
