  1. I've kept to THC, it has been worthwhile.
  2. Are you the Mayor of Asheville? You can probably buy out our city council to start a campaign to tell people how Asheville is just like Austin if you like. Please, take the opportunity.
  3. Based on the discussion here I think the experience varies based on whether you're a tourist there for a handful of days vs. staying there for more time than a vacation.
  4. Since a couple of people have asked about this...
  5. 12 Spot was pretty perfect.
  6. Kome was one of my regular lunch spots from 2014-2017. Nice variety on the menu and always good quality.
  7. I don't know, he spent a month there at the end of 2017 and has lived here (Austin) for the last 20 years- we may have different definitions of redneck / white trash though.
  8. ...just in time to eat the birds.
  9. Right, but that doesn't mean "omg it's so much like Austin OMG! OMG! OMG!". Plenty of towns in the United States have shit tons of craft breweries.
  10. Yes, it was the correct Asheville. It seems people have gotten a bit loose with comparing any random city to Austin these days. I'd heard the Asheville comparison for years so I was kinda surprised to hear how inaccurate it is.
  11. Not sure what to make of this. A friend of mine who has lived in Austin for ages just spent some time in Asheville. He said it was white trashy redneck and much more rural than Austin.
  12. Some dumbass on my Nextdoor feed was talking about all the trouble she went through to boil multiple pots of water just to rinse her dishes after washing them in her dishwasher... when all you need is to use the dishwasher heat cycle.
  13. I bet she and this guy were pretty familiar with each other...
  14. Your assumption is wrong. The sharks they studied, including the one they estimate at 400yrs old, were already dead according to a BBC article- apparently they were "by-catch"... caught in fishing nets but unwanted. Turns out the shark was female... https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-37047168
  15. Christ- just think if that shark lived in Austin, we'd never hear the end of it- "Austin was so much better back before.... blah fucking blah". Fuck off, shark.
  16. It was Halloween and he took costume advice from Megyn Kelly.
  17. Jesus Christ you're a whiny bitch
  18. Calm down, it's a 'security' incident... https://breaking911.com/breaking-texas-nuclear-weapons-facility-activates-emergency-response-organization-due-to-operational-emergency/
  19. Not to worry, boiling is part of the brewing process.

I haven't had a job with an official "start" time since college 20+ years ago, same goes for many people I've known since graduation... so no, everyone doesn't have to be at work by 8am.
