    Hank's

Damn, I didn't realize things were that bad over there.
  2. I believe you can all go fuck yourselves
  3. Maybe don't get them get blackout drunk before bedtime?
  4. Alexa, suck my balls... everywhere Alexa, suck my balls... on the porch
  5. Speaking of, the street runs along Barton Springs Pool... where black people weren't allowed while the soon-to-be namesake was in Austin for college and for a couple of years after.
  6. Is it a clown car? I'm really hoping it's a clown car.
  7. For some reason your post made me think of this old video...
  8. I believe in coyotes and time as an abstract
  9. I doubt it, I'm not there often enough that they know I'm an asshole. I think it has more to do with the crowd and timing.
  10. The thing is I might not even be a continuing contributor to this thread, it just felt timely tonight. My intent certainly wasn't to hurt anyone.
  11. So you're saying you don't need no stinkin' badges?
  12. Yeah, yeah... fuck me indeed. Don't let me getting ornery affect your posting after this. I very much appreciate your explanation.
  13. Yes, that's a big help. It wasn't a personal attack, just an opportune time to ask for clarification... and you happened to be the next guy who said it once i finally decided to open up. Apologies if it came across as hateful toward you, I was venting general frustration.
  14. That shit is so fucking cliche (along with "giving it a name") that it's never meant a fucking thing to me. I've never had any understanding of what people mean when they say those fucking phrases. I'd appreciate any elaboration possible if it's really a thing.
  15. Yeah, Y Mas and Dart Bowl are the best in town for a cheese enchilada meal. If you don't understand that then it's a win for all of us.
  16. I hear you; I'm not against it. It has always seemed a bit out of place to me. I'm down with whatever.
  17. What Troph said, it goes a long way. I recently stopped taking my meds for bipolar disorder after ~20 years. My Psychiatrist was reluctant but we'd been discussing it every visit for the last 5-6 years. She reluctantly agreed and gave me guidance on a 3-month taper that I promised to follow, and I did- to the exact timing she told me to. I hadn't missed a dose in 20 years (doses which had fluctuated up/down occasionally) but felt I'd grown enough as a person to handle most everything without needing to be constantly medicated. I was a tiny bit apprehensive about it and swore I'd be honest with myself, though part of me knew that wouldn't be a possibility if I went too far off the rails. Anyway, I'm 5 months into beginning the taper, and 10 weeks into not taking any medication at all. The last 6-8 weeks of the taper was keeping it at a non-therapeutic level so that I could experience life without any help but still be able to ramp back up immediately if needed (something you can't do when lamictal is completely out of your system). All went pretty well... and then I hit a 2-week stretch of the worst depression I'd experienced in over a decade. It was fucking terrible, most days for a couple of weeks I couldn't get out of bed until mid-afternoon. Fortunately it coincided with a time I was between projects, and honestly that may have fed it since I'd been on a 3-year run of craziness (but not manic craziness). Ultimately I got through it and shit has been good for a while now. For the first month or so after ditching the meds I was really fucking edgy and short tempered ("why are people so fucking stupid?") and then some depression set in. Fortunately the finesse of learning to manage it over the last couple of decades came into play... and knowing when to persist and just fucking get through it was valuable (mindfulness, physical exercise, meditation... just generally looking out for yourself). Anyway, this is just some random hammered rambling but wanted to say hello and share some experience after following this thread for a long time (both incarnations) but never posting. Best wishes to you all.
  18. Early location scouting for Time Bandits?
  19. I've lived in Barton Hills for the last 10 years and figured this was coming, especially since the street signs were vandalized last year. These signs showed up in the neighborhood this week- public hearing scheduled for April 26th. A year or so ago in the neighborhood newsletter there was an article about the background of why the street has that name. According to the article it was a common path soldiers took East to join fighting in the Civil War... allegedly, I haven't verified that myself. Anyway, they should probably just rename Melridge and REL to continue Bluebonnet from S. Lamar to Barton Springs a la Kinney, or name it after a local musician or something. I'm curious to see if it turns into a shit show or not. EDIT- looks like Tapa prefers to display the pic sideways... good times.
  20. Too much clothing on the obese women?
