  1. Holy shit that show's openings are hilarious. I watched it a while back when it was included in the Amazon Prime Video lineup... pretty damn funny.
  2. I believe it was horse beastiality? Someone on ShaggyBevo posted links to a beastility message board that had a bunch of posts about sex w/horses that were all signed "Bernard" the same way he did it here. They were creepily detailed.
  3. Summer between 9th-10th grade in Houston with full heat+humidity in an unairconditioned warehouse- working manual presses in gutter factory, bending sheet metal into drip-edge forms and gutter all day up until the day Football 2-a-days started. What a beating. That said, I needed $$ and it provided. Sophomore year at Texas Tech I worked as a night stocker at Albertsons (4th/Slide), 10pm-7am four nights a week. After that I'd go to class from 8am-3pm, get home, study, sleep, then back to work. Those were the "worst" jobs I've had, and I have plenty of entertaining stories from each, but overall they contributed to my appreciation of how fucking easy I've had it since then. Good times.
  4. Same for me the last ~20 years and it'll probably be that way until the end. Prior to that I used a more traditional money clip, and before that a bi-fold.
  5. Yesterday afternoon at AFS Cinema I attended a showing of a documentary about Houston's old rock station 101 KLOL. MAC makes a couple of appearances in the film as an interviewee.
  6. Props to everyone who recommended this one. It's not a genre I would've given a look otherwise and it has been very good (have watched 1-5 so far).
  7. We end up seeing at least 7 pods on the planet in the first handful of episodes. Really enjoyed the series. Hadn't heard about it until recently when a coworker mentioned it.

Played the Austin Beerworks course today. Wow, very fun course.
  9. It was here- early 2020.
  10. Sneakers had a solid lineup

I have, but it has been a few years since my last visit. My memory is that it was above average - pretty darn good.
  12. I have a 2010 Tacoma- crew cab 4wd. Interior is pretty basic, so I'd pass if that's a big factor (sounds like it is for you). Otherwise it has been a fantastic and reliable truck. I only drive ~1k miles a year so interior features don't matter much for me, and I enjoy not giving a shit about dings, scrapes, etc.
  13. I've been familiar with Doug Sahm for a while and occasionally ascend the hill named in his honor next to the Palmer; however, Sun Volt recently released an album covering a bunch of his tunes and it has renewed/increased my appreciation for ol' Doug. The Son Volt album starts and ends with old answering machine messages from Doug- it's a fantastic tribute. Anyway- let 'er rip! And the Son Volt cover I've had on repeat for a bit (went to their show in August)
  14. The Walkmen sounded good- reminded me of the The Strokes- hopefully I don't sound like an asshole for making that comparison but my sample size is small. Went to The Breeders after that... turned around to check the crowd and a friend I hadn't seen in 12+ years was standing right behind me- super awesome.
  15. What a great weekend of music- even the bands I'd never heard of (which is 90% of them) were damn good. Awesome time- would do again.
  16. Saturday is always the most overloaded with people. I walked out into GenPop for a few songs during Alanis' show (after all, I'm a man of the people), and it was surprisingly easy/fun and not annoying. It's f'ing gorgeous out here today. Michigander was surprisingly good/fun and Grace Sorensen has been good/chill so far.
  17. I'm not familiar with them at all beyond having heard the name, so I don't have any expectations. Either way the weather and people watching will be top notch.
  18. That's great to hear- I'm planning to attend their ACL show today (haven't seen them before).
  19. I'd never been to an Alanis show before and wasn't expecting a whole lot, so it was a nice surprise that she sounded great- fun show. This is my 19th year to attend, and your timeline of ~10 years ago certainly feels similar as far as the overcrowding goes- or maybe that's when I just got too old 😉. The last few years I've been doing VIP and it has made it a much easier experience overall. After FF last night I hung back and hit the bar for a couple more drinks while the crowd cleared out, and even then it was still quite a mob scene exiting a while after the shows had ended. The weather this year has been a great bonus. I'm heading back soon for day 3- good times.
  20. 30ft back from the stage center-left.... ~5ft from me and @texasdago.
  21. The only terrible sound mix I heard today was the 1st song during Shooks, which was plenty bad. It was heartwarming to see Charlie taking pics & video of his kid during the performance. Also awesome to connect with @texasdago.
  22. I'll plan to hit the Tito's tent a bit before the show starts.
  23. Good shows yesterday- love having nicer weather for a change. We went to Devon Gilfillian, The National Parks, Thee Sacred Souls, Brother Thunder, Portugal The Man... then listened to some of Bass Drum of Death before heading over to the Dave Grhol interview. After that we went to The Revivalists and Lumineers. All of them were good.
  24. I plan to be there for that show was well, but will be hanging toward the back most likely.
