  1. He looks like Professor Fate from "The Great Race" to me ... has that Snidely Whiplash twirl his 'stache look about him.
  2. Being an "old" as Surly defines it, I would certainly entertain carnal relations with Charlotte Jones for a weekend. And Jean in her prime. Other than that, not so much.
  3. Fuckin A... America.. FUCK YEAH
  4. Four years ago, I would have gone ballistic at the eating disorder jokes. I would have railed about how eating disorders have the 2nd highest mortality rate among all mental illnesses, that death is always an abstract concept ... until it happens to you... etc. etc blah blah blah But now? It's don't be a Keyboard Warrior ... This is Surly, where the deer and the antelope play, were EVERYONE at one time or another is a target and you better have elephant hide thick skin. Oh.. and the term I use for Tess Holliday and people who follow her is ... "Militant Fat Activist -- Keyboard Division."
  5. Wow... definitely brought a tear to these old eyes. On a daily basis, I deal with, work with, represent people, mostly young women who struggle with mental health issues. With as much progress as has been made in the last 10 years discovering genetic links or predispositions toward certain recognized mental health illnesses, we are also exploring biological causes, mostly in the brain. And once the medical community can find biological causes or contributors, then new treatments can be developed and utilized ... like transcranial magnetic stimulus of the brain to treat depression. Once the biological aspects become public knowledge, it is hoped that much of the stigma will go away. This young man is an incredible example of heart, soul and brain overcoming his demons. (Even though he will still have struggles ahead). Would love to shake his hand one day.
  6. Fuckin' Haas. What an embarrassment. Haas has as much business being in F1, as Russian troops have of being in Ukraine.
  7. Imma thinkin change the color of HAAS from red to burnt orange. Put a Longhorn logo on the cowling and you have ... The Longhorn Racing Team. AND... it's in our Storm Trooper Whites look too.
  8. Ok, the Formula 1 Big Dog, Know A lot of Stuff people ... The winglets over the front tires. I understand they are there to help control the wake coming off the front tires and direct it away from the rear wings but ... Aren't those in prime position to be damaged during pit stops, and if so, what is going to be the impact on the performance of the car?
  9. Shouldn't that be: An Aggie does not; lie, cheat, steal nor tolerate those who do.
  10. uh.... Vince Young? Burrows had one year at LSU. What Vince did on the 40 Acres far exceeds Joey at LSU
  11. Not much difference in the records between Payton and McCarthy: Sean Payton: Mike McCarthy: 131-77 record 125-77-2 record .630 winning percentage .618 winning percentage, 6 division titles 6 division titles 8-7 playoff record 10-8 playoff record 3 NFC title games 4 NFC title games 1 Super Bowl ring 1 Super Bowl ring Payton lived off of Drw Brees. McCarthy lived off of Rodgers.
  12. Indeed a catchy tune. But, the French have been stabbing their fellow allies in the back going back as least as far as King Phillip II who reneged on his vows during the Third Crusade while in the Holy Land, took over lands owned by King Richard I (the Lionheart) when he remained, to the French being duplicitous During the Falklands Conflict, to not allowing our fighter jets overflight privileges when we were going after Libya ...the list goes on and on. Yes, the French make great wine, cheese, their artists in the past have been incredible .. but, to some, their National Anthem does not stir feelings of loyalty, strength and power.
  13. Uber Alles may be the best national anthem. That Joseph Haydn knew what he was doing.
  14. I don't know boys. In this one, she looks a little like adult entertainer actress Ryan Keely.
  15. Wait a second. So, she voluntarily left a treatment center. And, within hours is found dead. It makes me wonder what in the blue hell was going on at that treatment center. Could they reasonably have suspected that she had suicidal tendencies before she left? And if not, why not. Yes, she was an adult. But, with this tragedy happening a few, mere hours after she left, I can't help but wonder if that treatment center was up to speed on her current condition and if so, if they knew the steps the legal system afforded them to protect her for her own safety. There's more here to the story boys.
  16. Alright Wood, Anton and others with inside information and far more intelligence than me (Although, I did get to see the shit show F1 race in Dallas in 1984 as the heat basically melted the track and got to watch Nigel Mansell collapse as he tried to push his broken down hoopdie Lotus across the finish line! I am fairly up to speed on the changes for this year, but how do you experts see them impacting the teams this next year? Another Hamilton-Verstappen duel to the end? Does anyone have the tech knowledge to test Mercedes and Red Bull? Is HAAS still going to be a shit show?
  17. Charlie Strong! Not good to see you again. Enjoy becoming a defensive coordinator at a 2A high school in East BumFuck Egypt!
  18. Well... fuck a big old hairy duck. Thanks for the head's up Fellas.
  19. Friends, Romans and Surlyites, lend me your expertise. SO and I are going to Oahu December 29 through Jan. 4. Already have MIghty Mo and Arizona tours lined up. But, we don't like to eat with the tourists. Any recommendations on good foodie spots inhabited by the locals? Seafood, Asian, fresh ingredients. We will have a rental car so travel is not a problem. Thank you Gentlemen (and possibly Ladies).

    Dallas | Steak

Went there for years. Got to know Bush pretty well. Got drunk with him a few times. Smoked cigars in their side lounge before it was prohibited. Many great events there. Never had to eat upstairs with the spares. Porn stars. College coaches. Actors. Politicians.
  21. Gotta bump this classic to the top.
  22. So, Hall was the DC at Troy? I read that Troy initially had a pretty salty defense. That its defensive line was as if it was a tall, strong wall repelling all attacks. Then, as time and the season wore on, so too did Troy. I read that they lost a key player, a rover named Paris. But, the Men of Troy stayed resolute which began to bring doubts to their opponents. You see, Troy's opponents had their own Achilles' heel and they became tired of being bent over while Troy went Greek on them, unlubed no less. So, seeing that a frontal attack was of no use, Troy's opponents resorted to trickeration. They used the old, "hide the ball in the belly of the Horse" play, Troy completely fell for it and the Troy defense completely fell apart leading to their utter defeat. So, we have THAT going for us too.
  23. UH... what happens at the Number 6 dance that night?
