  1. Let's be clear about one thing. I have only ever spoke in defense of Tesla and some of its products. I have never once defended or praised Musk himself. The overall point that I was raising about the Consumer Reports article above is that it compares the quality the first 5-10 years of product from a start-up bringing a new technology to market with established technologies made by traditional manufacturers, many with 100+ years of experience in delivering vehicles. Can you compare them? Yes, you can. Can you really draw any meaningful information about the long-term reliability of Tesla's crop of vehicles from the past five years? That's debatable. I can look at 5-10 year old data from Toyota, Ford, and BMW and be relatively confident that the pattern will hold for the next decade. You can't really do the same with the data from 5-10 year-old Teslas. 5-10 year old data for Tesla is from it's earliest days of being the first to market with viable consumer BEVs. It's anomalous data due to the life-cycle stage of Tesla as a manufacturing company and BEVs as a technology.
  2. Sure... at first glance that doesn't look great. Like all things, there is a bit of nuance to consider. The vehicles that fall within the window for this survey were manufactured while Tesla was still finding its footing for producing vehicles at scale. They window in question also saw Tesla implementing several pioneering technologies. So yes, compared to traditional manufacturers and ICE vehicles, they come up wanting in the reliability for older vehicles. But it's not really an apples to apples comparison.
  3. GOD DAMMIT!!!
  4. This is dumbest of all dumb ideas and it's not even worth acknowledging, much less getting worked up about. 0.0% chance it happens for about a million reasons. It's 100% performance art by Abbott. Don't give it oxygen.
  5. I mean... I would love it, but there is no way NBHoF allows it. There's definitely an argument for it, but he played almost 2/3 of his career in Detroit.
  6. Is Arrighetti our ace now?
  7. One of you may think you want to do it, but don't do it.

  9. Unreal that Gamel has outproduced months of Chas in a week.

I did last week. Garbage. Yeah.. it's only the top album in the country. It may not be high art, but it's a solid effort with some well-constructed songs that appeals to a lot of people, obviously. "Never Love You Again", "Nosedive", and "Losers" are all good to great tracks.
  11. Fuckin’ Turd. Sometimes the ball goes where no one is. That was a fluke play, not lack of effort.
  12. Does Vegas have an o/u for how many shows this tour will last?

  14. Latest conspiracy theory on the interwebz is that Chas died in the offseason and the family swapped in his identical twin brother Jason to collect the $2.85M salary this year.
  15. GTFO. No one is lying or covering shit up.
  16. If only we had a Roy Hobbs waiting for his chance.
  17. The Colorado River... a Colorado river... whatever it takes.
  18. Snakes are low-key doing this with Montgomery. He already hit the first tier for his player option for $22M next season based on number of starts. They have moved him to the bullpen now, which means he won't make four more starts and hit the next tier of his option which would bump salary on the option another $3M.
  19. I’m still pissed at Swindell for not living up to my unrealistic expectations during his Astros tenure.
