  1. I wanted to grow up to be her Mr. Mom.
  2. Has Cashman said who cheated them this time yet?
  3. Odom probably the most talented guy on the field tonight. He should have started out with “How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore…”
  4. It's a fair point... only six chunk plays in the second half. Kentucky and aggy both bring solid defense, but so did OU. The big problem against Georgia wasn't really our playmakers getting corralled, it was pressure on QE. Throwing downfield doesn't fix that.
  5. The offense had 16 plays for more than 10 yds on Saturday, and half of those went for over 20, and one play over 30. If you define "chunk plays" as a gain of 10 yds or more (seems reasonable), over 75% of our yardage on Saturday was from "chunk plays." Sure you want more... but the offense has playmakers. You don't have to put the football at risk downfield to let them make plays. I'm fine with short, high-percentage throws that can turn into something big with our athletes. For comparison, Vandy had a total of 8 "chunk plays" (which is too many) and only one of those went for over 20 yards (a 21-yd) reception. Their two biggest plays of the day (19 and 21 yds) happened on the final drive when PK went into a bit of turtle mode by only rushing 3. Texas "out-chunked" Vandy 302 yds to 124 yds. Texas was one dumb penalty and a competently called defense during the 2-minute drill from this being a respectable 3-TD win over a ranked team on the road.
  6. This is the astute, hard-hitting analysis we all come to Surly to find.
  7. There are plenty of opportunities for us to step on our own dicks before aggy, so let's worry about those before focusing on those goobs and playoff scenarios. I will lose my shit if we drop another game to Arky to make it a 3-game losing streak against them.
  8. My favorite qualifier of the 2024 CFB season... "since the John Blake era."
  9. I have a co-worker who is a Nashville local and Vandy fan. Apparently the narrative amongst some portion of the Vandy fanbase is that they were robbed because of the "bad call" on the 4th down illegal procedure and the lack of a PF on Jelani McDonald pulling the receiver back onto the field to try and keep him from going out of bounds. I brought up the 5 to 1 holding penalty ratio and he straight-faced told me that they don't hold.
  10. Bravo to this dude. I can’t remember the last time I actually laughed out loud while reading a written piece. This one got two or three out of me. He’s either the greatest troll of all time or an aggy revisionist history sunshine-pumping prodigy who has already surpassed looch. Either way, it’s something for him to wear proudly.
  11. To all college QBs… this is how you take the loss, pussy.
  12. Well, it’s not true because LSU’s not 7-1.
  13. Yeah, I’m not freaking out after this one. Vandy’ a a weird team this year.
  14. Last Friday night, I got an inexplicable bad feeling. That did not happen last night.
  15. Just looked it up and since 2009, aggy has worn 12 (tomorrow will make 13) different helmet designs. I guess swag trumps turdition in this area. We have worn two, with one being a throwback tribute to the 1963 National Championship team with major departure of adding the number above the Longhorn logo.
  16. Watched the video and the first thing in focus on their new fancy unis isn't "Texas" or "A&M" or "Aggies"... it's -you guessed it! - "SEC". Fucking dweebs. They are also a solid 10-15 years late on the matte black helmet trend. And nice work to the photog who lit these stills to show all of the imperfections on their fancy new bargain basement helmet decals.
  17. From the bosom of Mother Road, livin’ on Tulsa Time… FIGHT!!!
  18. So you're saying I can't wear my Ewers/Bond '24 t-shirt to the polls?
  19. We should start a band. Good thing for me the Navy didn't give a fuck as long as I had a BA at the end of four years. I was also one who screwed up the FL requirement... big time. I took French starting in 8th grade all through high school, and even spent a summer in France at a language school. Thought I was hot shit. Took the AP French exam and placed out of a ton of hours - don't recall exactly how many, but it ended up being 3 hours short of the LA FL requirement. I ignored it until my last semester until I had no choice, meaning that I went 3-1/2 years without staying current with my French at all. Because I had placed out of so many hours, I was forced to take a higher level class. Being my last semester, I fucked off a lot and halfway through the semester found myself drowning in that French class. I knew I blew the final, and as I turned it in pretty much begged the prof for a D so I could graduate the following week. Prof said, "see you at commencement on Saturday." Now back to the topic of the thread... as big of an idiot and wastoid as I am, I was still able to sniff out Trump's bullshit back in 2011.
  20. As a lifelong conservative and previously registered Republican until May of 2016, I am EXCITED to vote for Harris/Walz this election even more than I was EXCITED to vote for Biden/Harris in 2020. I was absolutely disgusted that the Republican Party nominated Trump. As soon as he won enough primaries to be mathematically assured of the nomination in 2016, I submitted my registration as an Independent. I hoped that it marked the beginning much needed period of wandering in the desert for the Republican Party. I voted for Gary Johnson in that election. I knew that I personally had no impact on the outcome since I was living in CA at the time. I was shocked and dismayed that Trump actually won the electoral college in 2016. I didn't really despair, because back then I still believed that we had enough checks and balances in place and that there would be enough "adults in the room" to keep him in check. After observing that first year of a Trump presidency, I realized that I was wrong, and I knew we would be fucked if he stuck around for longer than a single term. I became convinced that the Republican party and the conservative movement needed a complete reset to factory settings. They no longer had any guiding principles other than countering and "owning" the left and blindly supporting Trump. There were NO redeeming qualities remaining in the party. In 2020, I happily supported Biden/Harris because the Republicans learned NOTHING and changed NOTHING because they were still riding one fluke win from 2016. They needed a long string of bad losses to send the party back to the drawing board and back to conservative fundamental principles. Then January 6th happened and instead of shaking folks back to their senses, it drove them further into the crazy. I am excited to vote for Harris/Walz because despite my disagreement with some of their policies, they will be light years better for our country's future than if Trump is re-elected and Vance gets a foothold to build a following. The Republicans need to be punished and sent to stand in the corner and think about what they've done for another 8-12 years at least. Even then, I doubt I'll trust them enough to vote Republican ever again. I still don't vote straight party dem, though. I research every candidate. I give their policy positions a skim, but what I really look at are their ads and public statements. If they've ever publicly indicated support for Trump, they get a big "FUCK YOU" from me and their opponent gets my vote. My Dad is an elected official in Texas. If he was up for re-election this cycle and I lived in his district, I would vote against him, too. He might not get the "FUCK YOU", but I have a zero tolerance policy for public supporters of Trump when it comes to my vote.
