That Round Rock tornado went right by my apartment. I picked a good night to have dinner downtown at Red Ash tonight!

Boeing 737 carrying 132 passengers crashes in China

I went to the Flight 93 memorial after the West Virginia game in November. When that plane hit the ground it was like it vaporized, there was just a little debris and a crater left. The first responders on the scene were confused as there was really no evidence of an actual plane there. Scary stuff. Great memorial by the way. -
Went to The Shed on Saturday for lunch, did the call-in waitlist. Did not disappoint!

This was a really great work trip, thanks for the great tips! I loved the small college town feel of San Luis Obispo and the surrounding area. I didn't do any winery's but went to a few local breweries, including Firestone Walker Brewery in Paso Robles. Palo Mesa Pizza - SLO Big Sky Cafe - SLO - Reuben Bubblegum Alley - SLO I spent my Saturday in Santa Barbara. Strolled down State Street for a good bit, went to the art museum. The weather was perfect and the seafood, excellent! Olsen's Bakery in Slovang on the way to Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara Shellfish Company - Sea Urchin Brophy Bros. at Stearn's Wharf - cold seafood combo Old Mission Santa Barbara Sunset on Arroyo Burro Beach Sunday I drove up to Big Sur and Monterrey. First stop was Morro Bay. Elephant seals near San Simeon Hearst Castle from a distance since it was closed. The drive through Big Sur country was unbelievable! I've never been there and every turn was jaw dropping. The pictures you see just don't do it justice. Ragged Point Pfeiffer Beach Bixby Bridge Stopped in Carmel by the Sea for a Triple D joint, From Scratch Restaurant. Extreme sausage biscuits and gravy. The 17-mile drive was incredible as well. Such a beautiful part of the country. Wasn't this guy shotgunning beers out of his shoe in Omaha last year? I think they showed him on TV.

I just got flights for the championship series. I have not been since 2005. Looking forward to seeing the stadium. I was happy to see the championship series went back to Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Easier on the travel/work schedule.

San Diego without a doubt #1. My sister lived there for 4 years when I was in high school. Skiing at Big Bear one day, going to the beach the next. Perfect weather, golfing at Torrey Pines. Would love to be able to afford to live there one day! 2. Denver 3. NYC 4. Chicago 5. Nashville

I've only tried surfing once. Sounds like this might be a good spot to give it another go.

Ahhhh, Citizen Kane. Very cool

I'm heading to San Luis Obispo for 10 days on a work trip next week. It looks small and isolated but near the beach, so that has to be worth something. Anything I need to check out in the area? Places to eat? I thought I would drive down to Santa Barbara for the weekend when I am there.

Had my 3rd and final Texas Cares blood draw yesterday. S protein antibody count is still 2500+ and still no prior infection. I had my booster on Nov.4th, full dose.

So I should hold off for a bit with my trip to tour Chernobyl or naw? The pandemic already canceled this trip for me once back in April 2020. Now it's the Russians. FML

Some of y'all didn't grow up drinking water out of a green hose in the front yard during the summer months and it shows.

My buddy and his wife were in O'ahu last week and just happened to be in the area and decided to stop and watch the round of 32. He had no idea of who Kelly Slater even was, I wouldn't have either for that matter, but he got some good pics.

Just watched Licorice Pizza. Meh

I saw Ray Ramano and Brad Garrett several years ago in Vegas. Holy shit Garrett is funny!

Just got the call. I was in sec. 26 right on the border with section 27, about the 8-9 yardline. Got moved to sec. 30. Should be about the same seats, if not a slight upgrade, a little closer toward the 20. No complaints.

This thread inspired me to detour through Amarillo on my way back home to Austin from Pagosa Springs. Mountain oysters and 24oz. porterhouse. It was actually a good steak!
-
On the way up to Pagosa Springs to work from "home" for the next couple of weeks I stopped by Evie Mae's in Wolfforth. It was all excellent. The brisket and ribs perfect. The brisket chili was a nice surprise. Oh and shit it's cold in Lubbock with that wind blowing! I then stopped 50 minutes up the road in Olten, TX (aka BFE) at Rejino BBQ (2nd pic). Also a top 50 joint. The brisket and ribs were a notch below Evie Mae's, but their sausage was better. Great snap. They use the full St. Louis rib.

I saw this on Wednesday night. The acting was great. I'm in the same boat, I didn't know the story and Shakespeare is hard for me to follow the dialogue. I went home and read the plot, oh yeah, that all makes sense now. Probably need to do a second viewing.

Saw it tonight at the Regal Arbor, man I love that little theater. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but it was still enjoyable. My mom used to make shit on shingle (SOS) growing up and I went to Ocean's Cabaret about 15 years ago after a wedding. So it hit a little close to home.

For the GZ BLT+ recipe, I did slather a buttload of Duke's mayo on it and used 6 thick cut slices of peppered bacon.
