  1. Hey now, I had one after our West Virginia game at Primanti Bros. Way better than the game!
  2. Yeah, but the creaminess of the avocado did take it to 11 though.
  3. I made a BLT a few days ago. Geoffrey Zakarian's recipe. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/geoffrey-zakarian/gzs-ultimate-blt-2563058 Damn good!
  4. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Who doesn't love a good underdog story? Got a good chuckle at Kirk Herbstreit, Todd Christensen and Mike Golic calling the Arena Bowl 10 game.
  5. Just found out today at family Christmas that my cousin, early 50s, pretty good health, nearly died of covid back in July. They never told most of the family. Around July 4th he started having trouble breathing, he went to the ER and his O2 was in the low 90's so they sent him home. He goes back a few days later and his O2 is 80 and they send him home again. A couple days later he's laboring hard for breath and they go back to the ER and his O2 is below 60 and they finally admit him. He's in a world of shit now and is in ICU for two weeks on high oxygen. They don't think he's going to make it and are ready to intubate him and the wife tells the Dr. we are going to take him home to die. He somehow makes a turnaround and pulls through. Never was intubated, but was in the hospital for over 4 weeks. He lost his hair, which has all grown back now. Still gets winded pretty good when he pushes himself too hard. He has issues now with joint pain. Lesions on his lungs from the covid pneumonia the docs think. Unreal. Him and his wife's side of the family have never taken the pandemic seriously nor practiced any precaution and he almost fucked around and found out. The good thing that came out of this is that it scared their family enough to all get vaccinated. Another cousin had covid almost a year ago and still has only part of her sense of smell back. My 16 year old nephew had covid 2 months ago and his taste is still off. Merry Christmas!
  6. I made 10 dozen tamales last weekend for our family Christmas, I do this annually. Not bad for a gringo.
  7. Going to the show Sunday night. Can't wait! Saw it 2 years ago in Austin at Bass.
  8. Yeah, I got 5 through the venue presale yesterday. The cheapest tickets they had were $129 ($150 with fees). Last row of the upper deck is what I got. They should have offered some for less than $100 in the upper deck. Crazy.
  9. Just got my Eagles tickets for the show at the Moody Center in May!
  10. Got Moderna boostered a few weeks ago, came in >2500 for S protein and negative for prior covid infection. Should be good to go for a while!
  11. I rolled into town this morning blaring duelling banjos to set the mood. Let's do this! laugh/cry.gif
  12. The Dogfish Head Brewery and Gettysburg will probably be the highlight of this trip, but I'll be in Morgantown tomorrow dammit! Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment. Fun fact, President Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address 158 years ago today.
  13. Well I had to try it. And I have to say, pretttyyyy, pretty good.
  14. The only time it felt crowded was when the players ran onto the field before the game as everyone was crowded around the tunnel. Never had to wait for drinks or food and no issues finding a couple open chairs within 5 minutes of searching. I think those seats are like $8,000 a piece. Yikes!
  15. Y'all, I got to be honest, the field club is pretty damn cool. I apologize to all the folks I talked shit about for not sitting in their gray seats. Why would you? You can high five Bevo, you are right on top of the action when the ball is on your side of the field. I actually did sit in my gray seat most of the game and I had like 3 rows to myself. I was sprawled out like I was watching the game in my recliner at home! Plus, I think I ate my weight in Lambert's mac n cheese.
  16. I'll be there. Really looking forward to Gettysburg on Sunday!
  17. I got two tickets in those fancy south end zone seats that nobody sits in for Saturday's game. Does the club open 2 hours prior to kickoff?
  18. Interstellar BBQ did not disappoint this morning! Got there about 10 and was about 10th in line. Probably about 50 people in line when they opened at 11.
  19. Thursday I got my booster shot from the Moderna trial that I'm in after almost 14 months since my second shot. Instead of getting the regular booster, I signed up again for a new trial. I'm really enjoying this lab rat role. I got a full dose (100 micrograms) of Moderna booster that is a slight modification from the original vaccine, with added protection from the Delta variant. Reaction was the same as my second shot, very sore arm, slight fever, achy, just worn out. I was slightly nauseous with this one for a couple hours, never vomited though. Woke up this morning good as new, except for sore arm still. Is there anything better than 5g? Cause I got it!
  20. I just treat Snow's like it's an event, maybe do it once a year. I can go to a UT football game for 5-6 hours and leave there feeling like I've been kicked in the nuts about a dozen times or so, like I have the past decade. I can hang out at Snow's with friends shooting the shit for 5-6 hours, eat great BBQ, leave satisfied and with leftovers. It's a win, win.
  21. I was way off on my initial estimate. We were actually 110th in line at 5:20am after they did the head count. Ordered our food at 10am. Folks in front of us were from Los Angeles and the couple behind us from NYC. In the guest book there was a couple from Colombia and another from Italy. Wild stuff! Delicious as always.
  22. Got to Snow's this morning at 5:20am, probably about 50th in line.
  23. After 13 months since my 2nd shot, I finally got a call from the Moderna trial I'm in to come get the booster. Got an appt. for Nov. 5th. 50 micrograms, so half dose of the original. Feeling weak, need antibodies.
