  1. Starts at 13.5 and increases quickly with options. There is a more serious off-road upgrade we did not get (lift, tires, hitch, etc). Lots of brands to choose from out there that are both cheaper and more $$. This is the only one we could find that would sleep all 4 of us pretty easily (until my girls grow to >5.5 ft tall). I am sure I paid too much, but worth it to us.
  2. I went to Phish Coventry and the rain swamped the field so bad no one could get in. We got stuck at the back of about 20 miles of parked cars on the highway. We drove the long way around through Canada and got there a day late. When we left there were close to 10-15 miles of cars still parked on the side of the interstate. Heads are a stubborn bunch when they have a show to get to!
  3. I drove up to Minnesota and picked up our new squarish teardrop camper a couple weeks ago. it is really well-made and has enough room for the 4 of us to sleep, AC, heater, fridge, and not much more. The bunk folds up to make a storage space. It fits in our tiny single car garage for storing it. We are super excited and did a quick overnight at McKinney Falls last night for my youngest’s 8th birthday. It was our first trip in it and my girls loved it. Can’t wait to plan more trips!
  4. I will check it out. Currently doing my own TIGDH and listening to 11/1/79. The Scarlet>Fire is 38 min and very exploratory. Good stuff!
  5. And the Wharf Rat>Dark Star jam is the Beautiful Jam (from the So Many Roads box set). Spectacular and highly recommended.
  6. And I just noticed, the Wharf Rat is the meat in a Dark Star sandwich. Can’t wait.
  7. ThE 50th anniversary American Beauty Dropped on Spotify and includes the complete 2/18/71 with first ever versions of Wharf Rat, Playin, Bertha, Greatest Story, and Loser. It sounds great. I am only thru the Truckin so far and am enjoying it while working on the back porch. My dog is cracking pecans. Beautiful fall morning for some Dead!
  8. Great photo in the book inside!
  9. 8/6/71 Mr Charlie is my go to. That show has one of my two favorite Hard to handles too. I love that Summer 71 houseboat tape sound. Pig doesn’t contribute much on keys and they just rage as A 2 guitars, bass, and drums 4-piece. in other news, I got the new Record Store Day 5/9/77 vinyl yesterday to complement my 5/8/77 vinyl.
  10. And I think we forgot pigpen. hard to handle, lovelight, alligator, mr Charlie, easy wind, hurts me too, king bee, ... and The Eleven and on and on
  11. what about Morning Dew, Black Throated Wind, So Many Roads, West LA Fade-away, Dancin in the Streets, Brown-Eyed Women, Feel Like a Stranger, and Sugaree? What a great band!
  12. Same, I am a perfect XL, but probably should be L given my height. I have been pedaling like a MF on our Peloton trying to lose weight. One of the instructors has been doing jam band rides every so often so I don't have to ride to shitty music all the time. Scarlet Begonias is probably the most used dead song on there. He put Throwing Stones on a ride and it was awesome. Right now I am listening to Dave's 34, 6/23/74 at the Jai Alai Fronton while sitting on the back porch while learning Python. Our new dog is eating sticks. Such a great show. The slow songs are phenomenal (To Lay Me Down, Ship of Fools, WRS pt 1, ...). The Dark Star>Spanish Jam and Cumberland Blues are great too. The whole show is as good as 74 gets. Not sure why, but if forced to pick my favorite Dead tune, I think it is Cumberland. Such a great song that only they could have done. Slams and goes hard AF. On another day it would probably be Bird Song with the Other One and Dark Star as honorable mentions.
  13. https://store.dead.net/apparel/july-4th-1989-t-shirt-6.html I didn’t look before, but they only have L and 2XL so I hope you are either petite or fat. i ordered the aoxomoxoa shirt. They were out of my size for a while and got more in.
  14. I really like the Manor Downs show from 82. Really nice Bird Song and Scarlet>Fire (esp the Fire). i am getting excited about the new Dave’s pick coming in the next week or two: 3/26&27/87. I checked out the Bird Song and it is great. Also, it is the second matrix release (11/30/80 was the first-one of my favorites) and the sample on the site sounds great. I also bought a new subscription for next year to keep my complete set going. It is great getting new remastered shows 4 times a year for minimal effort. i stream from archive a lot, but just prefer the quality bump of the official releases. and @Hate I saw a 7/4/89 T-shirt in the Dead.net store. I know you are a fan.
  15. I stopped in at a liquor store in a little town in Minnesota this morning while picking up my new squaredrop camper. I was quite pleased to get these for $38 each off the shelf.
  16. Goddam the They Love Each Other, Looks Like Rain, Box of Rain sequence is so damn good. It might be my favorite Box of Rain (besides 3/17/94 of course). I think I’ve mentioned it before, but the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead cast is so good. They made it all the way through Workingman’s Dead and are a couple songs into American Beauty. Lots of stories I hadn’t heard before. It is really well done and worth a listen.
  17. I am sitting in my backyard, the kids are off at their school pod, our new dog is chilling, and I am jamming 6/24/73 from the PNW box while working on a final exam. Life is alright.
  18. It would be great if more patients were like you. A sizable portion of the general public does not give the pharmacy their new card and expects them to know their new plan through psychic abilities. Also, they think that if CVS has their info, that means Walgreens, H‑E‑B, etc all have it too. People are shit. And people being shit is only 10% of why WG and CVS take so long. The 90% is that they are understaffed like a motherfucker. The way they operate should be illegal because makes errors that harm patients a 100% certainty. I used to work at one of the big two and this is not hyperbole.
  19. And the last Dave’s Pick of the year is the most recent of the series yet released. 3/26&27/87. I hope they are both full shows.
  20. I agree about the catalogue. I have really been getting into some of Jerry’s late era songs. So Many Roads, Built to Last, Black Muddy River, Liberty, Standing on the Moon, Foolish Heart, and When Push Comes to Shove and others all stand up with the best of their songs. I lean to 72-74 as my peak because I love the 20 minute jams and general weirdness they can get into without the structure of 2 drummers. My peak for each song really depends on the song-I’ll take a Summer 89 Deal over earlier versions but Cumberland and Bird Song were way better in 72.
  21. Listening to 12/10/73 while studying. I submit 72, 73, and 74 as candidates for peak Dead with with consideration for spring 69, winter and spring 70, and summer 71 too. So much good stuff to choose from, cheers!
  22. If you listen to the people who think HCQ works, it lessens the severity of the infection. It doesn’t keep you from getting it. If he has a mild case and gets better quickly, he will probably tout its effectiveness.
  23. My in laws ordered in early August and had a 9/16 delivery date. They went through the Austin store to upgrade to Bike+ and were initially quoted 8-12 weeks. My father in law has worked the phones with both the store and customer service and their bike arrives on Tuesday (9/29). It is possible to move it up.
