  1. We’ve had ours since December and love it. I think we pay somewhere around 100/month for the bike and subscription, which will go down to $39 when the bike is paid off (0 interest on Black Friday deal). Prior to this we were paying far more for my Camp Gladiator had her gym membership, neither of which we used regularly due to busy schedule/laziness. this summer we both committed after months of 2-3 rides per week. We are both riding for at least 30 min a day, at least 5 days a week. It is awesome. It is the first thing in my life I have actually stuck with and I look forward to my rides. Totally worth it to us. The $40/month (or $100) is nothing compared the the health value we are getting from it. After 2 months of riding regularly, we are both down >10 lbs. We get comments on our weight loss from anyone who has not seen us in a while. The cultish aspect bothered me at first, but now I just go with it. Closing in on ride 200 in the next month or two.
  2. When I was 18 my dad and I had an Old Style at Wrigley Field. He is a cheap bastard and said the beer cost the same or cheaper than a coke. I grew up a Cubs fan in Texas (my mom grew up there and was a big fan) and it is still the only time I’ve been to a game there. We had seats on the 7th row right by Mark Grace and Harry Caray did his thing. Fucking great day and great beer!
  3. Jim Anchower? Loved that guy. I think there was a poster on the scat site with that handle. cheeseweasel beat me to it.
  4. Gonna check out 2/3/78 from the recs upthread. I am not sure why I haven’t listened to it before. I guess 78 has been hit and miss for me. Here we go!
  5. Make that 72-73 and we agree. I think they quit playing it until the acoustic sets in 80 after 73. Too bad, because 74-79 Dead would have tore up that song. Same goes for Here Comes Sunshine which got a longer break from their repertoire. I know I have posted these before, but anyone interested should check out 6/22/73, any versions from Aug or Sept 72 (esp. 8/27 and 9/21&27), and 11/17/72 for nice some versions. It is easily a top 5 song of theirs for me!
  6. For cameos with the band, I have always been partial to this one. The Spanish Jam is outrageously good Its got (I think) Duane and Gregg Allman and Peter Green from early Fleetwood Mac. That Branford version of Eyes is a very close second -really 1a and 1b.
  7. My brother still talks about looking over and seeing me really getting down during Iko Iko at that Rosemont show and knowing I was hooked!
  8. I’m confused, is this a from the side wipe or a reach under from the front wipe?
  9. White Water in Arlington >>> WW on LBJ wet n wild sucked in comparison to both.
  10. I have not so eloquently ranted on this subject on many occasions. If he is running, he has my vote.
  11. Back in the days of VHS, I saw a Ron Jeremy compilation where girls were auditioning with a normal looking guy. At some point RJ would walk out and insert himself into the scene. The look on the girls’ faces as they realized what was happening has bothered me ever since. Those girls were not happy to service the hedgehog. An easy case could be made for lack of consent based just on those videos. It is no surprise that he is in this predicament.
  12. I’ll have to check that one out. I’m a big Shakedown fan. My two current favorites are the one on the Fall 79 Road Trips and the one from the So Many Roads set (12/31/83?).
  13. Those were the shit. They also briefly made one with knackwurst that was amazing but they stopped because no one bought them. Ignorant fucks.
  14. Nope, everything in that neighborhood of flavor is terrible. Coke for the win. RC Cola and IBC root beer also slam.
  15. As a freshman in Jester In December 94, I taped Uncle John’s through He’s Gone from this show off of the Grateful Dead Hour radio show. It was one of my first tapes. Such a great sequence. I remember being really excited when Dick’s Picks 5 came out so I could hear the rest of the set.
  16. I’ll say it. I hate Dr. Pepper. Just vile stuff.
  17. Watched The Peanut Butter Falcon last night on Amazon (I think). We really liked it. Great soundtrack if you like bluegrassy stuff.
  18. As someone who loves breakfast tacos, a good NM breakfast burrito smothered in green is far superior to just about any breakfast taco I can get here in Austin. If this opinion is unpopular, it shouldn’t be.
  19. I second The Lobster. Also, not a movie, but The Great on Hulu is written by the same screenwriter as The Favourite and has a similar feel.
  20. I read somewhere that this was the first in studio live performance since the lockdown. Pretty cool and great performance!
  21. I didn’t know that could be a thing. I love when Phil is prominent on a recording. One of the reasons I prefer the 8/6/71 SBD to the AUD everyone raves about is how fat Phil is in the mix. For me, he is like Lebowski’s rug-he just ties everything together. On a podcast Bob said that when Phil plays on acid, he can hallucinate the equivalent of the sheet music of what everyone is playing. Wild!
  22. Last night, I sat in my garage trying to get my Kegerator functional again while drinking some bourbon (1792 BiB) and listening to to the new Daves Pick (4/20/84). It is a very solid show from a year I have not explored. It made for a pretty good evening.
  23. That is a great Playing in the Band and it sounds even better on vinyl! The show from the night before is great too. One of my favorite Other Ones, Cumberland, Bird Song, He’s Gone>Trucking. That must have been a long night/day making it from a show in Wichita, Kansas down to Houston by the next evening.
  24. And what if you really have no idea what your cost base is, what would be required as proof from the IRS? Say a person was gifted some gold coins from a family member 2-3 years ago.
  25. The other three shows I saw varied, but that one was amazing from start to finish. His set blew Paul Simon away to my eyes and ears.
