  1. I'm glad this popped up on my notifications. I need to pull the lamb racks out of the freezer. CHIEF
  2. With commodity prices through the roof already, and a World possibly on the brink of a mass starvation event, ethanol production should be shelved. I know it's feeder corn, and not sweet corn, in the fields, at this moment, but whatever percentage of the acreage of corn that is put into ethanol, at this time, should be sown with food crops. Rainfall and yield would be impossible to calculate, but keeping people alive should trump shitty gas. CHIEF
  3. CHIEF Jr.'s pediatrician was William Halden, https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/austin-doctor-retires-after-59-years-as-pediatrician/269-260110653. He was also my wife's pediatrician, when she was little. He started fortifying CHIEF Jr.'s milk/formula from the day he was born with Gerber Rice cereal. He said formula is going to be extremely expensive and the cereal would help stretch it by filling him up. It worked, it also worked for a new couple that lived in our old Austin neighborhood. Their son couldn't sleep through the night, first child, and they were at their wits end. Take a dime size diameter pile, put it in the bottle with the formula/milk. Take the bottle nipple and cut a small "X" to enlarge the hole so the thicker formula can get through, shake it up, and you are set. Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but always looking to help. 5. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Charge an export tax that they can't afford.Do you think that companies that produce their products in China can just up and move their production facilities to Central America? China has already shown their hand. You make a deal with the Devil. Your means of production become property of the Chinese Communist Party, patents be damned. Once there, you can never go back. Price them out of the market, recoup some of the trade imbalance. This is the worst of times, and the best of times. It's time to take advantage. We are a net exporter of grain. Use that to our advantage. CHIEF
  6. America will not go hungry, but it sucks that so many people depending on us for grain exports are gonna get fucked. Let's see, "wars and rumors of wars." Check. Plague and disease. Check. Famine....check. Someone to erase browser history. CHECK. Plane lined up to go watch the light show over Carswell. Check. CHIEF
  7. I don't know why NATO countries have not given the Ukes some short/medium range cruise missiles. Right now would be a good time to lay waste to Belgorod. RU troops are regrouping, and retrofitting. NATO has plausible deniability (no troops on the ground, just sent what was requested), it's up to Ukraine to select the most advantageous targets, and be able to hit them. CHIEF
  8. A few pages back, it was mentioned that the Ukes waltzed right in, and resupplied them a few days ago. Not sure if it was by land, air, or sea. It sucks they are running low again. Probably won't be as easy this time. CHIEF
  9. I kept waiting for machine guns to mow them down. Would have been a great tweet to send to the Kremlin. CHIEF
  10. Good God. Don't you have have a Foie Gras in Tuscany waiting for you? Or a 25 year old Silver Oak Cabernet, in Sonoma? Stay in the CR, where you belong. I'm sorry, I don't usually lash out, but you are a petty, Barney Rubble feet...person. You are like the Bonneville Salt Flats, three miles wide and an inch deep. Stay the fuck in your lane, and don't chase people all the way to DT. Geez. CHIEF
  11. The items are already sold. Maybe it's possible to keep unemployment low just producing items already paid for. Wishful thinking is that we see the supply chain catch up, shit is back on shelves, and things get back closer to normal. CHIEF
  12. There is a float on the bowl. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/little-giant-trough-o-matic-plastic-float-valve-2170322?store=1115&cid=Shopping-Google-Organic_Feed-Product-2170322&cid=Shopping-Google-LOB-Local_Feed&utm_medium=Google&utm_source=Shopping&utm_campaign=LOB&utm_content=Local_Feed&gclid=CjwKCAjwur-SBhB6EiwA5sKtjgTDIna-9vJMC8WZ22VN6hnB7kJi3mfdT8m6xQ6WLkEnTveWeC_jThoCTwMQAvD_BwE CHIEF
  13. It's very easy to keep the tanks from sloshing. Go buy the 100 foot, 4" corrugated french drain hose from Home Dept. Stuff the whole 100 feet into the tank. The slits eliminate air from being trapped in the hose. A 275 gal. tank will still hold about 273 gallons. I got the idea from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6VoTup9z2Y CHIEF
  14. Call TexTrail and have them cut you a 50" wide 6k axle. Buy some hangers, fenders, a hitch, jack, and leaf springs. The fab work was easy. CHIEF
  15. We are having to supply water to over half of our feeder pens with totes: When I still had my fab shop, I designed and built eight water trailers designed to haul a tote. It has a 5.5 gpm 12 volt pump. It is ran by a marine battery with a 12v solar panel that keeps the battery charged. I baffled the tank with the corrugated plastic french drain hose you get from home depot, so no sloshing. You don't even know it's behind you, in a truck. My Ranger also pulls it fine. I still have five of the trailers. CHIEF
  16. Just got a membership to Wildfork Foods. Picked up two lamb racks that I will turn into rib chops. They also have Picanha, which you can't get that cut around here. USDA Prime was only $12.98/lb. The lamb rib racks were only $15.98/lb. About what I pay at Costco, but it's going to be delivered tomorrow. CHIEF

  18. Anybody got a guide rec for Cobia in the Florida panhandle for May? Thinking about booking a long weekend trip. Fly into Destin on a Thursday evening, fly back home on Sunday. CHIEF
  19. I've got the Greenworks Pro, and it fucks. I just looked on the "best of" list and it was Numero Uno for the price. My Polaris gets absolutely filthy at our deer lease and it will take off heavy mud. It will also etch concrete. CHIEF
  20. When it gets dry around here, my concrete guy, Arthur asks me if he can come put up forms and lay rebar for me. It works 100% of the time. We were supposed to pour some tomorrow. CHIEF
  21. My usual group are some serious eaters. Probably half don't bother with corn or potatoes. Our six bags came in at a little over 200 lbs., so between 9-10 lbs. per person. I'd say most fall in the 6-9 lb. range. Then you have my nephew and CHIEF Jr., they will just eat until they are all gone. A five pound bag of potatoes and a dozen ears of corn, and we are good. CHIEF
  22. Forgot my 9mm at camp, so it would have been a .25-06. But the thought did cross my mind. They need to make throwing lit butts out the window a jail time felony. CHIEF
  23. Brisket better bring Cabrito home. CHIEF
  24. Fuck, I didn't read this post well enough. I reported a bitch tonight, on the way back from fire breaking the lease camp, and moving blinds and feeders. She threw a lit butt out the window at 281/I-20. I was detailed enough, they can pick up the butt and pull DNA samples. FUCK A BAG!!! Sent a link to the picture of her car even. I know it's America and it's "word against word", but I wanted to go full Gomer Pyle with the citizen's arrest. CHIEF
  25. Eating Ramen and frozen pizza from the Dollar General in Knox City this weekend. Life doesn’t get any better. Only gonna cost $450 in diesel for the privilege. CHIEF
