  1. I took a rapid test, and barely had a showing on the Covid positive line, I should be negative by tomorrow. To be honest, I've had allergies that were worse than this. Not being an immunologist, if you get Omnicron, does this give you antibodies that will provide protection from the initial strain and Delta? Hoping to see light at the end of the tunnel, that this fiasco can end. CHIEF
  2. I'm hoping Marion can work magic with Washington and Dixon. Washington was an All-American in high school, played in the AA game. Dixon was higher rated than most of the WRs we have been anxious to pull out of the portal. Maybe a developmental coach will be the difference. CHIEF
  3. We all have our own "loogie bucket". If you can keep from swallowing your sinus drainage, it will help keep your throat from getting sore, or lessen it. It will also lessen the chance that you will get the bronchitis that is associated with this strain. It's gross as fuck, but effective. Today, I feel fine, had some fatigue so I slept till 12:20. CHIEF
  4. The first two were rapid tests (she had them from work). I assume the hospital used a rapid test as well, as we had her results about 15 minutes after they tested her. Neither myself or CHIEF Jr. took a test, he was assumed positive after exhibiting the same symptoms. I'm still "up in the air" about being positive, but staying quarantined anyway. CHIEF
  5. Mrs. CHIEF started feeling bad Wednesday, lost her voice, headache, sore throat, bad cough, she chalked it up to allergies. Tested negative on Thursday. I started her on Amoxicillin and Guafinex that I found in the medicine cabinet at her mother's house, in Cedar Park. Her mother had been in hospice for a week, and finally passed on the same Thursday. The funeral was supposed to be today. Sunday morning, she still wasn't getting better, so I made her take another test, and she tested positive. Talk about a meltdown. No way was she going to miss her mother's funeral. Luckily we were able to postpone it for a week. Here brother has been staying at their mother's house. I quickly loaded Mrs. CHIEF, and CHIEF Jr. and drove back to Granbury, we stopped at the ER in Glen Rose, where there were zero other patients in the waiting room. They tested her again, and she was for sure positive. The rotating ER doc was our regular doctor, he said he was treating symptoms just like an infection from severe cedar allergies (Guafatussin, dexamethasone, Zpack, and amoxicillin). She is better already, but CHIEF Jr. is about two days behind her, so she is sharing her meds until we can get him a round. He was running 102 degree fever two nights ago. If I have it, which I don't know anyway I could have avoided it at this point, my symptoms are like a mild allergy, almost asymptomatic. We are J&J vaxxed. To be honest, Austin, Cedar Park, and RR was like a war zone compared to rural areas where people are more spread out. The population centers are getting crushed. CHIEF
  6. He sure knows how to get open. Most of those receptions, no one was within 5 yards of him. CHIEF
  7. There is a “speed trap ahead” sign going into Covington from Hillsboro on private land. All the small towns south of DFW are speed traps. Grandview, Covington, Alvarado, Keene, Joshua, and Rio Vista. That’s six towns within 25 miles of each other. In Lipan, west of Granbury, the officers take shifts sitting across from town hall. They are there 100% of the time except on holidays. My family has bought radar detectors for Christmas over several years. I still have an older V1 that needs to be updated CHIEF Jr. and Mrs. CHIEF run Uniden R7s. CHIEF
  8. She raised some great children. RIP Momma Ship. Very heartbreaking. CHIEF
  9. There are two kinds of people in this World. Those that have pigs, and those that are gonna have pigs. CHIEF
  10. Those chicks are smoke. That's our SPOT coming back from the lease. I'll pay for the Sysco truck. CHIEF Jr. will tongue fuck a fart box there, me too. Talking' bout Grayford. CHIEF
  11. I was gonna put Terence Hill in a while back. They Call Me Nobody is almost as good as The three Stooges with Curly: It's a Youtube rabbit hole: CHIEF
  12. Bingo. Don't get so far out out there that you become irrelevant. If shit changes, and you have to go back, be relevant. Stay a player, even if it means following someone else's dreams, you have to choose wisely. CHIEF
  13. At 91, she got her money's worth. Your family is lucky to have had her so long. Ts and Ps buddy. CHIEF
  14. Apparently the Ring Neck flew off the rack after that picture was taken, but all the Widgeon and Teal weren't playing dead. CHIEF
  15. They shot another limit this morning. They said they didn't even put decoys out, just sat down on the riverbank, and shot all of these. I asked CHIEF Jr. how many ducks they saw. He estimated between 2000-3000. I posted this picture earlier, but took it down, it looks like 13 ducks, but he swears there are 12. Told him if he is wrong, he better have a duck for lunch. CHIEF
  16. Back in the 80's and 90's, Waco didn't seem to have much of a middle class. Workers got a low hourly wage with no benefits, and then, there were the wealthy. That's it. I remember several companies wanting to build in the industrial area out in Midway, and the city of Waco actively drove them off. These companies were going to offer higher wages, and jobs with benefits. Waco, M&M/Mars, Wells Cargo, and other established assembly and manufacturing companies didn't want any part of that. They had their own little shitty playground, and source of cheap labor, and no one was going to spoil it for them. CHIEF
  17. My parents use to live in Waco, my mother was the field editor for Texas Agriculture. She worked with a guy, Jerry, that was part of the Homestead Heritage group. We have been to several of their "fairs", great people. They are very "mainstream" in their religious beliefs, many are former Mennonites, and Amish, left over differences in religious beliefs, but still like aspects of that simple lifestyle. They drive to work, and have normal jobs, but are still Old School at home. CHIEF
  18. Ducks
  19. CHIEF Jr. and his buddy had a pretty productive morning: His buddy shot a Auodad ewe for a European mount. They said it took them 4 minutes to get to their duck limit. CHIEF
  20. Kinda the same way. Sitting on millions in assets, could sell everything and move into an 18 ft. travel trailer on the deer lease. Had to have all these material things in my 20's and 30's. Now wish I didn't have any of it in my 50's. Priorities change. A golf cart and apartment in Cozumel, a truck and travel trailer in Texas and I would be fine. Don't really need, or want an expensive lifestyle to maintain. On health care, I'm covered through Mrs. CHIEF's company till 65, they pay for all of it. She worked for the State long enough that we get Medicare paid for by the State once I hit 65. CHIEF
  21. It's cold as shit at our lease right now CHIEF Jr. just left to spend the week duck hunting. The river and ponds are covered with Widgeon. A lot of movement right now, after a dusting of snow: CHIEF
  22. Well, we finally got our trailer mounted Tank Blind out to the lease for the last two weeks. I built this unit for a guy outta Alberta, Canada, but you can't move them across the border unless you have a Federally issued manufacturer's license. I had over $10k in the trailer, and he had paid $6500 for the blind. I was going to sell it at a loss, but CHIEF Jr. talked me into keeping it. It was the biggest and baddest one we ever built. So I bought the blind from him, and gave him a "good luck, and sorry". Here is one like it, I had built earlier, but he put in extra windows, had it insulated, and added a shooting bench, gun rack, window screens, and a bunch of other shit: CHIEF Jr. sat in it on the first morning with it about 70 degrees inside, looked at me, and said he will probably never go back to sitting outside unless it is hot. It is huge, and has great visibility. Holds three guys and a weiner dog easily: With two people , you can take a nap in the floor and watch the feeder out the bottom window: We set it at one location last week, didn't see anything but a young broke off 12, and a buck that needed to be culled (which CHIEF Jr. shot), we moved it to a new location between the morning and afternoon hunt, that no one was hunting since you could not see anything without some elevation. CHIEF
  23. This was me to a tee. Soloed on my 16th birthday, got a hundred hours or so, and got my pilots license on my 17th birthday. Had better than 20/20 vision. Got accepted into the Air Force Academy (thanks to Chet Edwards), then my parents flipped their shit. "How could you want to do this? You are our only child. What do you think it would do to us if you were KIA? You can't see into the future. What if we go to war during your career, etc...". Of course, I would have been fresh out of the academy for the first Gulf War, the Bosnian War, and late career in Desert Storm. Real Estate and Oil and Gas work has been good to me, but I still would rather have been a fighter pilot. Now I would probably be shooting the shit with Daysoff in the pilot's lounge. CHIEF
  24. At least you will smell nice while dismembering bodies. CHIEF
