  1. Please tell me they still play, "Turn Up the Radio" at places like the SPJST in Round Rock. CHIEF
  2. That's what I was always told. Gasoline and Tide laundry detergent. A fireball with a chlorine gas chaser, mixed thick so it would stick. CHIEF
  3. That is 100% true. I worked in the Midwest one summer leasing up farmsteads for O&G. The only people able to afford to buy farmland were wealthy people that made their money in something besides farming, and bought a farm for a "hobby." When you would run title, the farms had been in the same family since the Civil War, one had the Deed issued from the sovereign State of Illinois in 1851. The farmers weren't poor by any means, but don't have the capital sitting around to pay $3.6 million in taxes for their half section that has been in their family for over 150 years. I've been looking for farmland to buy for the last 15 years, after putting numbers to it, there isn't anything that will even pay for itself fast enough, much less provide a living. CHIEF
  4. It's a storm shelter, but not for a physical storm, but a fiscal storm. CHIEF
  5. Be sure to order the 68 extra fat, and the 12 dwarf. CHIEF
  6. A decimal off? They always forget that mundane detail. CHIEF
  7. I have landscaping guys that I have used for new builds to put in flowerbeds and sod, and I have used them at my home for almost a decade. If they came in and robbed me, I couldn't pick out a single one in a police lineup. They are covered from head to toe. CHIEF
  8. That's exactly how I read that. "Do you see how bad our starters suck?" is an interesting position to take on the recruiting trail, but is probably an honest assessment. And to think, this year, 2024 was the year that they have been pointing out as the year they "would play for all the marbles." CHIEF
  9. I finally got Mrs. CHIEF to realize that what I have bought up is not really an investment. It is never to be sold. I bought it to have something to trade with if the dollar becomes worthless. It might not happen in my lifetime, or even her lifetime. But could definitely happen in CHIEF Jr.'s lifetime. I think having precious metals for such a situation is prudent. CHIEF
  10. An older single guy, in our neighborhood, always takes walks for exercise right at dusk. He isn't real social, but has a few friends that he hangs out with occasionally. He went out walking on Monday evening. A buddy went to check on him on Wednesday, as the guy is starting to have a bit of dementia, and no one had seen him since then. He wasn't there, or any of the other times that the friend went by, so they put out a missing persons report last night. They searched all night with dogs and spotlights, we even went with the Ranger for lighting, since we can light up half of Hood county. No luck in finding him. This morning they found him dead on Hole #1 of the golf course. All of that area was checked last night. Apparently he had been wandering since Monday where no one could see him, and died of dehydration, and heat exhaustion sometime in the early morning hours today. CHIEF
  11. Not elite speed, but that was a couple of years ago. He needs to be at least a second or a smidge more speed to be a sideline to sideline, dropped for no gain kinda guy. CHIEF
  12. Yeah, you get in the northern suburbs of DFW, and Norman is probably an hour to 1 1/2 hours less of a drive than Austin. I've always thought that pulling anyone from north of DFW was a feat, on it's own. Especially when OU is hitting on all cylinders. CHIEF
  13. So, how many "carbon credits" will Russia have to purchase to offset this? CHIEF
  14. Need a .12 gauge shooting 3 1/2”s with a skeet choke. Coulda got at least half of them. CHIEF
  15. Exactly. Texas has a backlog of excellent young tackles. Fasusi would be behind Gosby, and probably Baker for the left tackle spot, and would possibly only start his senior year at Texas. Guys that talented want to start for more than one year. If Turntine is already the best tackle, in Texas, it wouldn't hurt to skip a year to give him a chance to start as an underclassman. It's not like the NIL funds couldn't be used somewhere else. CHIEF
  16. Do the Israelis not have their own cruise missiles? They are a nuclear power after all. Just use their own shit. CHIEF
  17. It may be a chickenshit idea, it is a funeral after all. But if I were Israel, I would have sent about three cruise missiles as condolences. It would have taken out most of the high ranking Hezbollah command structure as well as high ranking officials from any country that is sympathetic with both Hezbollah and Hamas. If the shoe was on the other foot, neither terrorist organization would miss that opportunity if they had the weaponry to pull it off. CHIEF
  18. My mom's Chrysler 300 burnt the motor up after the solenoids that turn the fuel injectors on and off malfunctioned and kept pouring raw fuel into the cylinders but had the spark plug disabled. It washed the oil off of the rings and main journal bearings. We used a DiabloSport tuner to remove the feature after the engine was rebuilt. We used the same programmer and downloaded the same program for CHIEF Jr.'s 2014 Ram Hemi 5.7, they were really cool about doing it, and it cost about half as much. They make one for the GM 6.2. https://www.holley.com/brands/diablosport/platform/gmc/sierra-1500/2019/engine/376-6-2l-v8/ CHIEF
  19. Well, this certainly made me thank my gut for telling me to get off of the Benjamin lease: 2024 F-250 Platinum, loaded, 1800 miles. Totaled. This crossing used to be about 24" deep, now it has washed to over 5". You can usually see every rock on the bottom but it was murky. I guess lesson learned. CHIEF
  20. Yep, .30-06 for sure, everywhere. 30-30 for East Texas. This isn't about giving easy access to ammo for thugs, this is about keeping a lack of ammo from ruining someone's hunting trip. Who hasn't been on a hunting trip, took a shot and realized your scope got knocked off. I've done it, and it took a half box of shells to get it back to sub-MOA. A box of shells that had lasted me for 3-4 years. I fired three shots per year, one to make sure it was on, and the next two were for the two deer I decided to shoot. One time, I got it as close as I dared, and kept the last shell I had for a morning hunt. I then had to drive over 100 miles to Wichita Falls to buy more ammo. CHIEF
  21. Depending on how many options there are, hell, old cigarette machines probably had 30 selections, you could probably handle all of the popular loads during deer season. This isn't going to be the place where it is the primary place you buy ammo. This is where you buy ammo when you are "over a barrel", one or two boxes at most, more than likely just one box. .22-250, .223, .243, .270, 7mag, .308, and .300mag, all common rounds, will cover about 90% of hunters. It might not be their primary carry, but they have them for a backup. I always have a .243 left in the trailer, if necessary. For pistol, 9mm and .45 would probably be the rounds to stock. In offseason its all 5.56, .300blk, and .308, keep the same pistol rounds. Maybe stock some .22LR, but that is so cheap, people keep bricks of it at home. CHIEF

I have two bags in my chest freezer over at the shop. Interested in how they turned out. CHIEF
  23. If they were franchised, I would put one at the Ranchland convenience store in Benjamin, Texas. It's on the edge of the Earth, and open 24/7. I would venture to say that you could get a spot to put the vending machine for free, or almost free. The folks stopping to get ammo aren't just getting ammo, they are buying 35 gallons of diesel, $60 worth of beef jerky, two cases of beer, four bags of ice, four pulled pork sandwiches, and two orders of chicken strips. Ranchland is the only convenience store in the whole town. I know of at least 30-40 more towns just like Benjamin that you could get some space for next to nothing because of the additional revenue it would generate. CHIEF
  24. How is that spoken phonetically? Nev-ah-ee-ya? CHIEF
