Why do people burn perfectly good vacation/PTO time to go to the draft?  In Green Bay?

I’m at a  bar in Milwaukee and these two kids next to me were there yesterday. Like maybe college age.  They love the Golden pick. So there’s that.

I may be wrong, but I was sure that ESPN had Sanders ranked 2nd best available before this round started. Now he's 7th best among the remaining players. Is someone at ESPN messing with the ratings to save face?

    Blahblahblah, pics of polynesian friend.

Dear lord, this place is slipping.

Hah. I’m not on FB anymore, I’d have to track her down. I think she’s half American, so maybe she’s Amnesian.

  4. About 5 years ago I had a basal cell removed from my ear, but other wise have been scare-free. I’m fair skinned and fly airplanes for a living  so I’m in the “higher risk” category i suppose. I do get checked on the regular and have biopsies done on anything weird. Interestingly, around the time I had my cell removed, a friend on Facebook posted the same thing about her ear. But she’s Polynesian and not fair skinned. So I guess the moral is get anything unusual checked, high risk or not.

i absolutely love going to the movies. our first date we saw Rising Sun at The Arbor. some of it is definitely nostalgia.

but honestly it's mostly bc i just could not imagine seeing a new Tarantino or PTA or Nolan or Coen bros. picture on anything other than the big screen. or Spielberg or Cruise or Scorcese or whoever...

like, i saw Dune 2 twice in theater and once in our decked out basement theater room and the latter did not compare.

we just went to an Interstellar re-release at our fantastic Harkins CineXL theater a couple weeks ago and it was an incredible experience, reminiscent of seeing Aliens or Empire Strikes back when i was young.

going to the movies has been an integral part of my life experience that i hope i can enjoy until i physically can't anymore.

Me and the Mrs. enjoy the movie theater as well, but it has to be a decent movie. There’s honestly been so few theatre worthy offerings since Covid. We have a home theater and use that most times since everything pretty much goes direct to streaming.

But we do live a stones throw from two or three really decent theaters with the food, audio system, etc., that make the outings worth it. But it’s mostly garbage or Bollywood shit.
So TLDR; if the “academy” stops making shit movies direct to steaming and releases some good popcorn fodder for the big screens we’ll go.

The first real big time rawk concert I ever saw:

    Fabulous Thunderbirds

    Stevie Ray Vaughn

    The Who

at the Cotton Bowl in the 1989.  Not a bad way to kick off a big stadium show streak.

Also saw the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney that year.

Saw them on the same tour in high school. Scored a $10 bootleg shirt after. “The Who 25th Annivercity Tour”.
