  1. I'm not against the helmets, just an observation. Like you said, it can keep your head and ears warm. Just a pain of renting one more thing.
  2. Checked out the snow report and the amount of trails open percentage wise is better than Red Rivet or Taos, except no blacks. Which is fine because I'm too old and bad knees for that crap anymore. Speaking of being old. When did every single person start wearing a helmet? Back in the 90's when I was skiing regularly, the only ones wearing helmets where back country skiers or snowboarders on the half pipes. Do they automatically come with rentals to reduce liability or something?
  3. Here's also a youtube channel that puts out some good stuff on BS. https://m.youtube.com/user/tarheelmatt79/videos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=1
  4. My 3 kids (19, 14, 12) have a weird timing spring break being the 3rd week of Feb, but it makes it easy on going some place that isn't crowded with the typical spring break crowds. They all want to go skiing so I'm looking at going to Angel Fire. It was the first place that I ever skied and remembering it being pretty easy, as I was taught by high school girlfriend's dad at the time so must not be that hard. 2 want to snowboard, which I never have and 1 wants to ski. Wife wants to ski also. Not sure which way I want to go, the old reliable ski or try out snowboarding. This would all depend on if I want to take a lesson or not for boarding. Has anyone gone to Angel Fire recently? Looks like everything is take out or outdoor eating, but the place I'm looking at has a full kitchen so we can eat at the condo with no problem. They suggest reservations for lift tickets and lessons but by looking at their online site, there aren't any days that show to be sold out from now till then so they must not have that much demand.
  5. What else must you griddle....EVERYTHING. I do a lot of seafood like fish and scallops. Any veggie is good on it.. Check out FB groups for Blackstone recipes. Tons on there.
  6. With some speed and talent, along with Sark's offensive scheme things could get very exciting in Austin.
  7. A few pics of my dog, Buddy, on his retirement hunt.
  8. Hunting up between Stephenville and I-20. Morning doe successs.
  9. It be snowing like a Mofo right now.
  10. Youngest taking care of the doe population. Suppose to snow tomorrow morning 5"-8". Going to see if we can get another doe before it gets too nasty. If not, we might just be stuck out here another day, which wouldn't be terrible.
  11. Nothing wrong with small acreage. I have 65 acres and half of that is in wetlands. Give the deer some good food and a place to be relaxed, you can have a successful place. We've killed 3 nice bucks off my land that some with 100's of acres would have like on their place.
  12. They started out as Urban Bow Hunters but now go by SeekOne. Incredible bucks those guys get to go after. Only problem with the publicity is more hunters going and knocking on doors to gain access in these neighborhoods, thus more pressure on the deer but also upsetting homeowners.
  13. A great picture of your girls and I know you will cherish those Saturdays rooting on the Horns with her. May God give you peace and comfort during this grieving process.
  14. Have you ever done any hinge cutting trees or plant some long grasses to try to enduce them to bed there?
  15. Glad you were at the right place, at the right time.
  16. Had another good morning with a buddy and my youngest in the main duck blind. 3 other guys are hunting my other blind and sticking it out for their limits. They had some poor shooting this morning bnb or they would be back at camp too. Finally got some greenheads in the mix.
  17. It's hard to be sad when you're happy.....or is it hard to be happy when you're sad???? Either way, it's been a glorious day.
  18. With his past history, I certainly hope that his contract has an out clause for the University if his sobriety goes south.
  19. Does it really matter? I'm sure no matter what it is people will say it's too much. I'm sure it is in line with a top Div. 1 HC job pays, all in Hope's to get to be a top tier Div. 1 football team. I'm good with the hire. Not blown away but it could be worse. This hire is all going to come down to his support staff. He can't do it all.
  20. I use the dome but only having one and when trying to do a bunch of burgers a lid would be nice. I guess the detachable can be used but it gets hot sitting on the back rail so you would need to place it to the side if you wanted to do that which I may try next time.
