  1. The onion rings are good, but love their fries with salt and pepper with spicy ketchup.
  2. Found the outfitter on Facebook on the Texas Dove Hunter page. My duck hunting property is outside of Ferris down by the Trinity.
  3. It actually laid out nicely where you can't shoot across from anyone and if you want to hunt out in the middle of the field, you can do so safely. My plans are to get away from the tree line/shade hunters with my son and hunt out by some powerlines the are on the far edge of the field. Saw tons of birds lighting out there
  4. I'm hoping that everyone can space themselves out and not hoard up a certain area. Once Nobemver comes, I won't touch that field again as I have my own duck and deer place to hunt.
  5. Went and checked out a 130 acre sunflower field by Ennis. Place is packed with whitewing. I drove 100 yards along the field to meet up with the outfitter and got out with the checkbook in hand. The outfitter said "You want to see the other end of the property?" As long as you are only allowing 20 guns on here, sure, let's burn some of your diesel. Had to have been at least 600 birds flying into that field while I was there. I got a video of about 50 whitewings coming into the field and light right out in the middle. Looks like my son and I are set for dove now.
  6. Check out Redneck Blinds. I have soft side and plenty of room. It doesn't get cold enough in Texas for me to spend the extra money to have it all enclosed with windows.
  7. I did the duck wing survey last year.
  8. Griddled up some Surf & Turf last night. Scallops and Chicken with okra. Used some Tony's on the okra for a little zip and it was damn good. First time trying the okra on the griddle. Will be in the rotation now. Instead of having it all cooking at once and accidentally overcooking the scallops, I cooked it one dish at a time and put in a warm aluminum pan on a burner that I had on medium and then turned it off. Okra was first, then chicken, then the scallops.
  9. Good harvest from today. All the tomatoes didn't make the picture.
  10. I would like to see a pic with his head up. He doesn't seem to have much drop in the brisket or stomach. You have history with him so you could be right.
  11. With the bino pics I'll change that to a 3 year old.
  12. I think you are spot on 4-5 years old.
  13. Who's got plans for opening day dove? I've been working so much that time had gotten away from me and I haven't a placed lined out to go for the opener or opening weekend.
  14. What BBQ joint can I go to get my salad tossed...with or without meat.
  15. Have gun...will travel. I grew up in the Valley chasing quail with my buddies. At that time, we would just walk the hedge rows to pop a covey every 100 yards or so. Never would have imagined back then that there would be a decline in quail populations like there is.
  16. One of the best things I've done in the past couple of years was getting a trailer at the ranch. I was out on Sunday in 106 degree temps and was glad to have a place to cool down other than my truck.
  17. From what I understand is that one case at a breeding facility, TPWD comes in and wipes out every single deer. Lots of $$$ lost for the breeder.
  18. The biologist didn't come out to take a sample?
  19. It sucks that CWD has been found in Texas. Lots of states have had huge populations wiped out.
  20. Just bought mine and my son's Combo Licenses on-line. Getting ready for September 1st...Let's Roll!!
  21. I live a little too far in the country to have much success with chip drop but I always get some for free because I check FB Marketplace for those who got WAY more than they expected.
  22. Been there twice. Not impressed with either time. Go 15 minutes into McKinney and get Hutchins.
