  1. Never had an issue with browning meat using saute.
  2. Yep, we use to pound the geese with Stanfields in the late 90's and early 00's.
  3. Our 4th annual yute hunt weekend is underway. Got 2 does this morning. The boy in the Rhino shot his first deer ever. He saw a big 10 but the buck busted them in the blind before he could get set. Had a huge brunch and going to get after them again this afternoon.
  4. Knox City has slowed way down in goose numbers. Not as many peanut farmers as there use to be and every Tom, Dik, and Harry have turned into guides. That has put a bunch of pressure on them. I thought Stanfield moved their operations to Oklahoma. Lubbock or the panhandle is where the bigger concentration of geese are now.
  5. Go to the panhandle. Tons of canadas up there.
  6. Try doing the yellow squash. It is a softer texture and comes out round in the spiralizer like pasta.
  7. My family will do the zoodles, but leave them raw and put the hot pasta sauce over it. Also, we like the Rao's Marinara Sauce mixed with venison.
  8. MSN came out with the Best Mexican Food Resturants in every state and according to them, the best in Texas is Ninfa's in Houston. Not sure about that, but I am intrigued by the Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon Tacos. https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddrink/restaurantsandnews/best-mexican-restaurant-in-every-state/ss-BBOfmtz?li=BBnb7Kz#image=44 Texas: Ninfa's Address: 2704 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003 Rating: 9.1/10 Ninfa's on Navigation is the best spot for Mexican in the state of Texas, but also ranked #4 for cheese in Houston—most likely be attributed to its queso flameado: a cheese casserole with chorizo. The shrimp wrapped in bacon tacos are also a must order.
  9. It sucks in North Texas right now.
  10. Yep, they are now located at Hwy. 276 and FM 549 with a bigger trailer, pit and eating area.
  11. The duck season has hit the bottom of the barrel. Too much water and not enough ducks around. This mornings hunt was the worst I've had in 3 seasons. 3 guys and got 2 ducks. Probably saw 10 ducks all morning.
  12. *change out the regular rice for Cauliflower Rice to keep low carb Instant Pot Venison Tips in Mushroom Gravy (Gluten Free) Print Author: Lorie at Mississippi Kitchen Ingredients 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil, plus more for coating pot 2½ pounds venison, cut into about 1 to 1½ inch cubes/pieces 1 medium onion, chopped, 2 garlic cloves, finely minced or chopped 16 ounces fresh mushrooms, chopped 2¼ cups beef broth or stock ¼ cup red wine (substitute with more broth if desired) 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce 3 tablespoons cornstarch Kosher salt and coarse black pepper to taste Cooked brown or white rice Instructions Hit the Sauté function on the Instant Pot and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Cook the venison in batches until brown and seared on outside (will not be done on inside). Transfer to a plate and add more oil, if necessary for remaining batches. (You will get a better sear if you don’t overcrowd the pot.) When venison is done, add about ½ cup of the beef broth and deglaze the bottom of the pot by using a flat whisk to scrape up all of the brown bits. Add the venison into the pot along with the onion, garlic, mushrooms, wine, and Worcestershire sauce. Add remaining broth. Place cover on securely, making sure vent is turned to “Seal”, then press the manual function and set time to 35 minutes. Use natural release. When the venison is done and after the pressure is released, remove the lid and press the sauté function again to bring to a boil. Stir together the corn starch and about 4 tablespoons of water until smooth in a measuring cup, then whisk this into the pot, stirring until mixed and thickened. Turn off sauté function. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve the venison over rice.
  13. Only time I will mess with a large pig (to get loins and boston butt) is when it is really cold so there are no ticks/bugs all over them nasty suckers. Plus they smell god awful when it is even a little warm out.
  14. If we are going to run, at least go to the outside to try to gain some good yards.
  15. Let her know I may not be able to last that long tonight, since I'm amped up.
  16. Slap them on the head and make them swallow
  17. We need to give the defense a rest or 4th quarter isn't going to look good
  18. I almost would have like to see LJH keep the ball there and have Ellinger block for him.
