This is what the hunting season is all about. Getting away and spending some time st the hunting camp. Made up a batch of fajitas and the kids roasted up super sized marshmallows. Got here too late this evening to sit in the deer blind but headed out in the morning after ducks.
I haven't smoked turkey in about 5 years now. Deep fry them. Easy peasy. Inject, throw some Tony's all over it and let it ride in that hot oil for 3.5 minutes per pound (usually I get around a 12 lb. bird). I did 3 this morning (2 for my son's school and 1 for work function) and will do another 3 on thanksgiving.
I've been hankerin some beef ribs lately. So the wife stopped at Costco the other day with instructions to get uncut plate ribs. What she came home with, that I found out this morning, was uncut short beef ribs. I assume I smoke them at the same way just less time?
Go into a convenient store and get a big bag of Doritos Cool Ranch. Turn the bag on it's side and make a slit on what is the top now. Go to the Nacho Cheese machine and fill bag with your desired amount of cheese. Throw in some japs if you want. Go to counter, pay and enjoy!
Awesome stuff. I'm sure both of you are pumped. I'm out with the boy trying to get some ducks. He's gone through half of a box of shells but has connected. He stepped up to a 12 gauge this year so he is behind them on the swing. It is a great morning anyways.
Alright, Duck season Youth Weekend is just a couple of days away. This is the last year that my son has to participate as a shooter. There were some ducks in our wetland last weekend and this last cool front should have brought more, so looking forward to some smoking guns this weekend.
I've gone twice on trips down to San Antonio and have been very disappointed each time. Family says they won't go back again that there are too many other places to go with good BBQ.
Its the soft sided Redneck blind. It's up on a 3' platform. As you can see, it can get wet in those bottoms. Color has faded some from the sun but the deer don't seem to care.
