  1. The dumb, mind probing octopus is the one thing I would drop from Rogue One. Just a cheesy thing to put in a movie that didn't need something dumb like that. That had to be a Gareth Edwards thing.
  2. I don’t think the Vader scene was his idea. Gareth Edwards claims he directed that scene. I could say yes but it’s a pretty cool lead in to how Vader pursues Princess Leia. It’s also the Vader people wanted to see.

  4. You know there's a Darth Maul animated series coming next year?
  5. Do you feel you were discriminated against by the film?
  6. Mahle is really coming into his own. And run support was great.
  7. Always like Palace. Great for their supporters and City losing yet another one this year is just great.
  8. They're eating the price increases. They're eating the tariffs. Eat the tariffs. Eat eat the tariffs. /set to the tune of Eat the Cat by the Tik-Tok generation.
  9. "Business man" president is shocked that corporations act like corporations who only look out for themselves at the expense of consumers? I'm sure he always ate the cost of things for his organizations and never passed along the cost to others.
  10. He's pretty good in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie. Not a heavy in this one, just an incompetent villain
  11. Connor Bradley got extended to 2029.
  12. Completed my rewatch of Rogue One tonight. It was interesting to watch it with new context. I think Gilroy did a great job of connecting things from the series to the movie. The "breaches of security" that were fixed now can mean Dedra, Lonni, and Luthen. The terrible things for the Rebellion are things we've seen. That Cassian has lost everything for the cause, we've also seen like his mother, Brasso, and Bix leaving. K2's being destroyed hits even harder. Saw being crazy is more clear. Rhydo huffing robot legs haver. Sure, you can find some quibbles in things but it really feels like another arc of the show. The battle scenes are so good. The octopus is still a dumb thing as is the two guys from the cantina. Jedha is still really well done. It makes me want to watch the first Star Wars again.
  13. Did you get it to work? If not, there's a bunch I can send you. Just watch out for porn pop ups. Sent you a PM with other links.

  15. Fucking shitlibs at Moody's /Texaggy
  16. Can I be that guy who says he wasn't just enamoured with the lightsabering in some of the prequels? The Duel of the Fates in Phantom Menace was great to excellent. The Anakin/Obi Wan vs. Doku in AOTC was good. Then it became Yoda doing backflips which is less enjoyable over time. The Anakin Obi Wan fight in Revenge was just twirly nonsense and not the emotional battle it felt like it could've been. It should've been more like Duel of the Fates and it was more each of them twirling their lightsabers at each other. I realize I am in the vast minority on that one. I guess to me, I like Jedis being like samurais befitting the "elegant weapon" label of lightsabers.
  17. Andy Greenwald had a good comment on this show. He called it "gourmet Walking Dead".
  18. Sounds like Taylor needs to drop the Reputation: Taylor's Version tonight and pants old shitpants yet again.
  19. Yes. He's like K2 when he's playing cards with Andor and Melshi and he's upset that he's losing.
  20. I don't think every Star Wars series or movie going forward needs to be ordinary people like Andor. Everything would then pale in comparison. I would like if the dialogue and screenplays could be Andor-like in what comes next. The issue with the Jedis and lightsabers is I don't see how they can make it any better going forward. The sequels kind of bore that out. It sadly will all be sort of a derivative of the OT. I like the idea of Mangold's movie being set at the origin of the Jedi. You can at least try new things. Or do a Knights of the Old Republic thing. I don't have high hopes for Rey's movie and it's pretty telling that it seems stuck in the mud. The Starfighter movie with Ryan Gosling might be decent because he could make it fun and he won't be playing a Jedi. If it's a Star Wars version of Drive, I'm in. I say all this and I bet when the Mando and Grogu trailer comes out, we're all going to be excited. I think for the most part, people here enjoyed Ahsoka but the writing and motivations of people like Sabine were not as good. Filoni does have some flaws. Writing dialogue is one of them. When koopa comes back after 8, it's going to be great.
  21. This is pretty cool. Fern is being cast as the new slayer in the Buffy sequel series with Sarah Michelle Gellar. https://deadline.com/2025/05/buffy-reboot-ryan-kiera-armstrong-new-slayer-1236398811/
  22. Saw this online. That's a nice reference to THX 1138.
