  1. I believe that's the air crew out of Canada. Saw this shot on Twitter.
  2. It makes sense for them if they all live here. I doubt Texas is going to outbid Georgia or Vancouver for movies and shows.
  3. Reminds me of Gordon Biersch locations making here to DFW. Man, that scratched an itch for a time. We had a Shaggy Happy Hour at one in 2009. Now, they're all gone.
  4. If that picture is from this area that would be at Love Field (DAL) as that's the only place Southwest flies out of.
  5. James Mangold has said his movie will be 25,000 years into the past so he doesn't have to appease any current conventions of Star Wars. That's the way to go. https://variety.com/2025/film/news/james-mangold-star-wars-movie-handcuffed-lore-1236270341/ And sure there's a place for The Acolyte. Just don't write a shitty show that was confusing and contradicted itself for strange reasons.
  6. Sure, foundations are great. I'm talking more the hands on life of service Jimmy Carter led post-presidency. I just don't hear much about what Clinton does other than giving speeches. I guess health plays a factor and Carter seems to have been the healthiest of them all.
  7. That and the writing and motivations are so much better. The storyline is purposefully muddy. It reminds me a bit of the first season of Rebels.
  8. Ha. That was probably a thanks for taking one for the team.
  9. We also had a massive wildfire in the Panhandle because of aging infrastructure where a powerline fell down and ignited a blaze. I've seen controlled burns around Yosemite but I think that speaks to more it's not a huge residential area.
  10. Hunter should've given Trump the finger as he walked past him just now.
  11. Welcome to why driving in the Metroplex under any level of snow, rain, or ice is an issue. People simply do not know how to drive safely here. Keep your head on a swivel tomorrow.
  12. Marketplace had an interesting segment last night with a guy from the insurance industry about insuring wildfire areas. https://www.marketplace.org/2025/01/08/cities-cant-be-made-fireproof-but-they-can-be-made-fire-resilient/
  13. Did the Metroplex's balls go up into its body because it's so damn cold?
  14. Did we see the end of ex-Presidents committing to lives of service after they leave the office or was Carter just built differently. I feel like I answered my own question.
  15. The Everett McIver Memorial School Closing Center is great.
  16. LAScanner is a decent follow on Twitter for updates. The evacuation order has been lifted for the Sunset fire minus a few areas.
  17. In all seriousness, there are reports of vehicles crashing on overpasses around the Metroplex. There's a semi hanging off 114 and Grauwyler which is near the site of where Texas Stadium was. Overpasses are going to be a problem so drive safely around this, which are plentiful.
  18. Always interesting when the former presidents are all together. W and Clinton are looking old. Obama drew the short straw and had to sit next to Trump.
  19. An update. The sleet has turned to a light snow east of White Rock Lake. We have started gathering items to use as kindling in case the power goes out and we have to stay warm. We are fashioning a makeshift snow plow in case we have to tunnel our way out.
  20. We have sleet in east of White Rock Lake. I repeat, we have sleet east of White Rock Lake. We have commenced to jarring our urine.
  21. Saw this earlier on the ABC7 feed. This is some good shit in a dark timeline for LA.
  22. Sunset fire looks to be in better shape. For the person above asking how to prevent this, it's hard to fight something in canyons and hills with very little ability to get into those areas. According to the FD spokesperson on ABC7, aircraft are the best way to fight them but you can't fly helicopters in high winds. The reason they're having luck against the Sunset fire is the winds died down. There will be high winds through Friday.
  23. According to ABC7, the Fire Department is keeping the fire away from homes by drenching all around the fire. So far no homes have caught fire yet. Helicopters are flying circle around it dumping water.
  24. What the hell? It's January 8th. That's like pumpkin beers in July.
  25. I mean sure it's possible but Malibu just went through this around Pepperdine last month. It happens. It's dry. The winds are blowing hard. You have something hit a power line and sparks happen. Then you get what we're seeing.
