  1. I totally missed this so a bit late. A sincere congratulations to you, Mac. Way to persevere through, it’s been a real crappy market. Your girls are super blessed to have a father like you. Cheers!
  2. I went Ryobi because of all the 18v tools avail. They’ve been reliable. I’d recommend them for homeowners but probably not for pros.
  3. My 5 yo Toro line trimmer starts first pull every time and runs like a champ.
  4. Well I’ll be…. The Baking soda removed most of the black burnt crust on the bottom of our Le Cruset.
  5. Wow this thread popped out some serious CR. Back on point… yes I am LTC and used to carry every time I left the house. Lazily, I do it more-so based on probability and impact (who is with me) as of late. At all times I do carry something - a knife, pepper spray, or a my EDC CC. If I’m going to be in an area statistically higher likelihood for something bad (eg downtown), I will carry and take pepper spray. If I have reason to believe PS will be enough, I’d rather use that. If Im going jogging or walking, I will carry pepper spray, mostly for dogs. For all the gun haters here, just know that’s it’s a fucking pain to carry. It’s uncomfortable, you have to pay attention to the laws (where you can’t carry or posses) and be cognizant of where you may end up and if there is a chance alcohol my be involved, etc. Then you are also putting your ass on the line, if you do have to shoot someone. You will have serious legal problems even if your 100% in the right. You could also be mistaken for an aggressor and get your ass shot as well. In addition to the expenses of ammo, range time to stay proficient, you spend $200-$300 in carry insurance. At the end of the day, seconds matter and cops are always minutes away. Police response has gotten worse on top of that. It’s a burden to carry but I will defend human life if necessary, ironically even those who are anti gun.
  6. This, stretch your calves and to a lesser extent your hammies. If you have flat feet or high arches consider getting orthotics or special inserts like Super Feet. If you’re not sure if you’re flat footed , a litmus test is your Achilles. While standing barefooted, it should be straight and not deviated to either side. I fought it for years and it ended up being my calves that drove the PF.
  7. I just hope they get their “ganas” back and got the stumpy play out of their system. The last few weeks seem like they’re ready for the offseason.
  8. A friend of mine has Samaritan Miniatures. He’s self employed, has a large family, and found it was much cheaper than private/market place. You do have to get your pastor to sign something attesting you are an active member of their church.
  9. RIP, Coach. Thanks for the memories and the laughs. You certainly made being in the BigXII more enjoyable. CJK5H
  10. Yeah I tried the paper filter…, never been a fan of the mesh.
  11. I got that Cusinart carafe coffee maker and couldn’t get a full flavor brew like my old ass Mr Coffee. The only thing I could think of was that the cone doesn’t give it enough time to soak. Does basket shape matter come VS flat? Given this is $150 maybe I got a defective one? I’m not opposed to the price of the Mocca Master but the lack of an auto brew feature would suck. What else?
  12. Don’t know if they do what you have in mind but we’ve used Patriot Fence for privacy fences twice and we’re hood both times
  13. You’re right. Who knows. The job market is very odd. We have remaining affects of the great resignation and yet we are in the early stages of a recession. Depending on the health of the company and how long and badly they’ve needed this role, they could be hungry to fill it.
  14. Sorry to hear. I know you’ve been with them for a while. #1 My recommendation is to apply to all of them. It’s hard to say how recruiters are divided. You may have one for the entire job class or it could be divided. I’ve seen some horrible things in recruiting and hope they gotten better as a result of the Great Resignation. Spray and Pray. #2 just follow directions on the site. If it just says resume, then only resume. The other thing is to apply for Ops jobs as well. I know you’d rather stay in LD but it’s not bad to cast a wider net in case. It will also help with interview reps and possibly with negotiations if you get Ops offers too. Like others have said, you should be networking and letting people know you’re looking. Good luck.
  15. Bump… Need a bumper repainted - some POS scraped the corner and took off paint. Recs on a shop in SW Austin? How much should something like that that cost?
  16. She don’t need a cc today. It’s to build credit.
  17. Looking for recs for a Student Credit Card with rewards. Thanks in advance, WC
  18. Had an install done 5 years ago. These guys did a solid job and were easy to work with. Austex Sprinklers 2000 Windy Terrace Bldg. 22, Ste. B Austin, TX 78613 US (512) 721-8564 phil@austexsprinklers.com austexsprinklers.com
  19. Perry Ellis Portfolio. I’ve been rocking them for two decades- machine wash, no wrinkles, always look brand new. Pairs have lasted for several years. They have different fits too. Get them at Macys.
  20. It’s till funny if you’ve had a few…. Just saying
  21. You need to seriously learn about/hire web app security…. It’s seriously gotten out of hand. If you go Wordpress hosted, pay for wordfence. Regardless of hosting, have them do the patching and maintenance. Ensure they are doing all three: - static code scans - secure composition analysis - dynamic scans Put in the contract to patch all zero days within 12 hours and all criticals within 48. Have then do a 3rd party pen test. Security is a pain in the ass and it’s expensive but shit has seriously gotten out of hand.
  22. Ryobi 2300 here. Pros: No maintenance Does good enough for average home Good enough for a foam cannon (but barely). With a small orifice Cons: Just as much work to drag it out as gas Power barely good enough for disc attachment so it’s a bit more work
