  1. Breville has several models with high marks on consumer reports.
  2. As my wife says...Bring extra blankets. Someone will need them.
  3. Check out the bidet thread and that TP will last a lifetime
  4. Regarding tubeless brew, I make my own. It’s worked better than others products I’ve used and it’s a hella cheap. There is a thread on Mtbr that has the recipe and description of the ingredients’ function. I have yet to find anything better than the original “WSS - Wadsters secret sauce” except for maybe subbing ATV slime for regular slime. https://forums.mtbr.com/29er-components/best-tubeless-brew-406115.html
  5. Last night we’re about ready to go to bed and she’s locking up, turning off lights, etc... She checks the garage to make sure the door is closed and yells at me, "the car is not in the garage." I ignore her because she knows why her car isn’t in the garage - she parked it in the driveway. 2 minutes later she yells again from the other side of the house , "the car is not in the garage.” My response was, “is my truck in the garage? Her - yes Me - “ that’s because when I come home, I park in the garage. Now...Would you like me to pull in YOUR car for you?” Her - no (in a mopie tone) I normally do the gentleman bit and pull in her car without her even asking. However, i was beat and also saw the behavior I’ve created ... so I decided to be a smart ass instead. I’m glad I was being stubborn because her stupid cat was apparently being especially stupid and getting near the car when she pulled in. I heard her pull forward and back 3 times! Good thing for the cat she took care of it because I would have let Darwin do his thing.
  6. Yeah your student loans seem high. I’d pay those off, especially before contributing to any 529s. If you’re not done paying for your college why would you start paying for someone else’s? Btw, make your kids share the burden of their college expenses so they have skin in the game. My goal is for my kids to work during the summers to help and to graduate with no more than $10k to $15k in debt real value.
  7. Did she at least get to meet Bob Kraft?
  8. I think this is cool too. I also like seeing owls and other birds of prey.
  9. I’d honestly love to understand this phenomenon since the same shit happens here. My theory is that the kids know I don’t put up with their dumbassery and corrective action plans will promptly follow. Where as with my wife, she’ll just yell at them in a frenzy time and time again... Or is it that as the father, they don’t trust that I will get them ready on time? Theories welcomed
  10. Holy crap ... this drives me insane. I speak sternly and I’m accused of being an overbearing disciplinarian or managing her and the kids. She yells at the kids, and she is justified and somehow it’s my fault - sometimes for not disciplining the kids enough! FTS and FML Nope it ain’t worth it. If you don’t keep that yelling in check, you’ll end up feeding her crazy which can only end badly. To make matters worse, you’re already starting at a 7 on the cray-meter since the hotter they are the crazier they are (exceptions for late bloomers). Then that shit goes to cray-con 8 - she’s wearing the pants and has this confidence to make you eat shit with a smile, you have no voice, you’re a second class citizen who’s only purpose is to make bank to pay for her extravagant lifestyle, to fix shit around the house, run her errands, and put up with her shit.... plus insert whatever undefeated joke you want. If it escalates to cray-con 9, you’re getting shit thrown at you, you’re moving out of the bedroom, still remains undefeated except now you don’t even get a chance to subject yourself to whatever slavery you endured at cray-con 8 in order to get defeated. You begin to sleep with one eye open out of fear. Remember at 7 you’re starting 3 clicks below cray-con 10 , also known as GAME OVER because you’re either 50% poorer, in jail for domestic abuse, or you’re fucking dead and she’s in jail for first degree. Yup, not a fan letting the yelling slide...Have mercy, I just realized that a lot of y’all are already at cray-con 8. Be safe and don’t let it escalate.
  11. Solid advice on getting another container for large tents because they are a pain in the butt to get back in their bags. I ripped the tent bag at some point and so I got an over sized duffel bag with wheels for the tent and all the fixings. Also agree with your advice on the tarp - that has never failed me.
  12. ... I highly recommend getting that mortgage monkey off your back. It’s a life changer, you’ll sleep better, better health, less stress, mo money, you’ll have the flexibility to take risks that you previously wouldn’t have.... can’t stress this enough...
  13. Coleman Sundome Tents are simple to setup, cheap, and regularly go on sale. They have different sizes but they are all pretty much the same design. You could get 2x 3-man tents. The downside of this approach is if rains while you are out, then the crew is split. Upside, you have flexibility if only half the crew comes and they are stupid fast to setup. The other option is to get a family tent like Luke’s and everyone stays together. We have one that’s large enough that it has little rooms that can be divided (divided by something that’s like a rain fly material). If there are four of you, you could easily have a “living room / bedrooms” setup which makes it great if it rains or if some want to stay up to play cards etc. The downside is that those tents are harder to setup. They’re easy compared to tents of old but I can take 45 min the first couple of times you pitch them. The sundomes take about 5 min to pitch for comparison.
  14. It’s ridiculous to see all the Dak hate and all the Dak man love. The reality is that he is a tremendous value while on his rookie contract and he’s probably good enough to win a SB with this team. However, he’s not going to carry the team to the SB nor is he going to make up for deficiencies in other positions. That’s it, you give him the right pieces and he’ll do well. Lose a couple of weapons or a key lineman and you’ll see him struggle. ... you can’t blame all of it on one guy, it’s a team sport.
  15. Wow theres a lot of guys here with potty related phobias... I use to care like you walking all over the 40 acres to find the golden toilet, carrying this behavior into adulthood...and then I got old and stopped giving a damn provided it was reasonably clean. If someone else is in the bathroom taking a dump, I still proceed to the nearest open stall. The hell with walking up another flight of stairs just to see if it’s safe to shit . If the middle stall is the only one open and there are wingmen to the left and right, it don’t matter. Bombs away. If said wingmen have fouled the air, just quarterback the play. “All right boys, if you’ve dropped a load, do us all the courtesy and send it down the pipes. Lift up on the lever (dual flush) to avoid the accidental bidet”.. Folks generally comply and are apologetic. It may freak out some, those people will finish immediately and bug out. Speaking of bidets, I love mine and will always try to go before I leave the house. However, contingency plan for a clean under carriage while at work is a wet paper towel. Again, don’t care if anyone else is in there and sees me get a paper towel, fold it in quarters and dampen it under the faucet. If I had Mexican food the night before, I might even get two. They know what’s up; it’s no mystery. A few have started to follow suit. If they continue on the path, others will witness as well and soon we’ll have a movement. You see it just takes a change in your mindset to overcome your potty phobias. Focus on the mission, ignore the distractions, take control of the environment, take care of businesses, lead by example, and gtfo.
  16. I bought my receiver from a black Cadillac in a parking lot. It sounds shady, except it was from some dude on the shag from cedar park who wears cargo shorts and flip flops. And yes the cargo pockets had Cheerios.
  17. This is gonna save me some money....kids have never showered so quickly in their lives!
  18. I’ve got a north face which works well and still looks brand new after being used as an outer shell in 3 excursions. Whatever you get, make sure it has pit zips.
  19. Got that beat. My wife I went away for the weekend. She had my MIL come stay at the house to watch the kids. Bad idea jeans. Now, my MIL doesn’t come to visit often because the amount of emotional baggage and complications she brings is ridic. To minimize this, I offered to pay to kennel her dogs but she proceeds to tell me that they can’t be kenneled because one has a liver problem so it can’t get the kennel cough shot. So why not board one? Because they get lonely when separated. They’re house trained right? Of course my wife tells me. We get home from our trip and the kids proceed to tell me how stressful it was with Grammy. That she let her dogs do whatever they wanted and that one of them pee’d in the house. My first reaction was, ok a dog had an accident... That’s ok. After all, my wife verified the dogs were house broken so it couldn’t have been that bad...right? Well one of her little shitty dogs pissed on our new rug not once, not twice, but six times!!! In the same spot! Six fucking times! Of course after reading Mitch’s epic threads, I gain a little perspective... Thanks for sharing, Mitch.
  20. Name checks out, Dr. Duke. Thanks for the recommendation. The Squatty potty is a nice complement to the bidet. Not only will it better for o-ring in the long run, I just gained another 5 minutes in my day with the setup. Bowels empty completely right away, a quick spray, pat dry, and I’m good to go. It’s like nascar efficiency for the John.
  21. Finally joined the club and must admit I feel a bit dignified no longer using butt cleaning technology from 300AD.
  22. This Clean surfaces with wipes or wet paper towel...minimize touching stuff ... wash hands. Get out. If the bathroom is ridiculously disgusting, then find another or a bush. If you go the bush route, there is an art to making sure they don’t piss all over themselves. If you are unsure of this, you are better off with the men’s room. If she’s really little and you have room in your car, then yes keeping a little potty works well until her bladder outgrows capacity. If you have a hatch back, then you have an instant portable potty.
  23. Don’t forget to add extra liquid smoke when you reheat it
  24. Ecobee 4 with additional room sensors FTW
