  1. To answer your question, there are several biometric options these days. I know a few people who have the speed vault posted above and like it. The other thing to consider is how and where to secure the handgun safe. At a minimum you want to secure it with a cable lock. However, I suggest re evaluating a home defense weapon. I personally would not chose a handgun because if I miss a shot, the round is going through a wall with most of its inertia. Like you, I have other people living in the house (on the other side of said walls). I opted for a tactical shotgun with picatinny rails for a remote pressure light. The first 2 shells are birdshot (8 and 6) followed by 2 buck and finally a slug. Birdshot will still go through a wall but it would not be as severe. I increase the stopping power in my shot selection since my goal is to neutralize the threat while making a reasonable attempt the preserve the threats life (knowing full well that it creates additional risk for my own life and legal liability). For that, I receive a lot of criticism but I do it out of personal beliefs. To each his own. The other aspect I like about a shotty is that it’s hard to miss. There is a difference between shooting at a range and shooting in the middle of the night, half asleep, with adrenaline pumping. Unless I’ve done a lot of tactical classes and competitions, I won’t trust myself to be that accurate with a pistol under distress. I have had unpleasant experience of having to get my gun out in the middle of the night under those circumstances. Let me tell you that my vision and judgment was totally fucked going from deep sleep to oh shit mode instantly. Fortunately it was a false alarm. However, the alarm woke my kids and had them wondering around to investigate. You just never know the situation you’ll face until it happens. However I digress. There are also tactical locks for shotguns as well. I have one from shotlock. https://www.shotlock.com/. I configure it to hang from the breach. With the breach open, there is no way it can accidentally fire.
  2. Deleting the account and adding it back fixed the problem. There must have been a corrupted item that was forcing re-synchs
  3. One of my favorite plays was when DJ came across the line untouched and ran way behind the QB, he was going so fast. QB was dropped back, standing tall and apparently didn’t her the LB directly behind him. DJ just pushed him to the ground from behind. QB toppled over like a rag doll.
  4. Anyone have issues with Apple Watch calendar draining their battery running in background?
  5. Maybe. Maybe not. It means Cheap Chinese electronics are in your AC unit. When I had my ac unit replaced I asked to add an American made Cadillac line capacitor to the order. My buddy who did the install laughed at me. They do not exist. Hmmm that’s why dad always kept caps on hand.
  6. I shit you not when I tell you I spent $17 bucks on the engagement ring. That’s right seventeen USD. I actually asked her if she wanted a nice ring and a fancy wedding, or if she prefer to buy a home within the next two years. So I bought a plain silver band which she wears and appreciates to this day. We bought a house 2 years later and paid it off 12 years after making the first payment (on one income nonetheless). Don’t get me wrong there is something to say about tradition, making her feel special, etc. However, there is also something to being financially forward looking, setting goals, and taking some of the rat race pressure off of your marriage. Have the conversation with her about where you want to be in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years. Then discuss how you two will get there.
  7. Yup. Depends on how hard you want to work for the extra coin. The last two cars I bought I emailed every dealer within a 200 mile radius, gave them the specs of what I wanted, gave them less than a week to give me their lowest price, and advised them I only deal with the sales manager. They had one shot. Half didn’t have inventory or didn’t want to play, a quarter had crappy pricing, and a quarter were hungry. If dealers tied each other, I pushed the envelope again. For this to work, you have to have your ducks in a row - down payment, easy to get financing, straight cash deal, etc. you can’t be a pain. It’s got to be a quick deal for them. It’s not very hard especially towards the end of the month.
  8. 100% spot on. This place gets TexAgs pretty regularly
  9. DT was the glaring need. They should have taken the best one available regardless of value. This was a deep DL class so I hope this kid pans out. That was the only reason I didn’t completely lose hope in trading away the 1st round pick.
  10. Esto. You’re at a point where you can change relatively easily. The firebox does look a wee wee.
  11. I’m looking for a NAS to run as a plex media server and to store pictures and a small amount of files. - Most movies are H.264 1080P MKVs. - May need HW transcoding capabilities - Clients are mostly roku ultras and iPhones - Only need 6 to 8 TB in capacity / RAID 1 - Needs to reliably work and be easy to use Not interested in building my own. Thanks in advance, WC
  12. You’ll use a bench vise more than you think. I was in your same shoes and ended up just getting a craftsman or kobalt (can recall which) on sale for $40.
  13. I was getting frustrated with how many pulls my mower needed to start. So I replaced the filter and spark plug and changed the oil. ...it’s like new again where it starts in one or two pulls. Maintenance- go figure
  14. This. I don’t know how anyone can sleep at night without keeping their credit being frozen.
  15. Meguiars DA orbital buffer FTW. wax faster than wash and dry.
  16. Craftsman Briggs and Stratton- going on it’s 15th season. Last two seasons it’s been fighting me on starts so I just got a new filter plug and oil. I give it tlc every 3 years or so
  17. Check out Ally. They have among the highest rates and they may also have some neat no penalty CDs for your situation. Customer service is great as well. I’m not sure how much cash you’re talking about but remember the FDIC $250k limit per bank.
  18. I agree. Romo is a close 2nd though
  19. Mrs Cannon: “I don’t want to talk about that anymore. It’s just frustrating” Me: “great let’s talk about something else” Mrs Cannon: ...but blah blah regarding the same topic Me: “I thought you didn’t want to talk about that anymore” Mrs Cannon: “yes but I just wanted to make sure you understood XYZ” Me: “uh huh I see”. Mrs Cannon: takes the bait and keeps talking about what she originally didn’t want to talk about This can literally happen with any topic.
