  1. I'm just extrapolating from past history with non-rental MW pitchers here at Texas: O'Leary - Great freshman year, got statistically worse during her tenure, her use dropped drastically; she did have some health issues Simpson - great freshman year (particularly in playoffs), got statistically better, but lost command; this year is a disaster - her use has declined every year in program Czech - got statistically better each year here, but her use dropped off every year CG - stats haven't changed much since freshman year; her use has dropped off every year Morgan - Has gotten statistically worse, driven by this year; her use has declined dramatically Kavan - stats almost identical to freshman year - use has gone up. One theory I have is perhaps coach always seems to like the "shiny new" pitcher (or is perceive to do so), and the incumbents don't handle this well, leading them to press (or sulk), which doesn't help, and effectiveness and usage falls off.
  2. Not to be all sky-is-falling, but we need to prepare ourselves for a possible TK backslide next year. Hannah Wells better be the real deal.
  3. This team ain't it. Of course I said that in 2022 and we made it to the national championship. But I just don't see it. I'm not even sure we make it to OKC this year. I thought MW was a bit complacent this year in recruiting/portalling. The entire back half of our lineup really needed an upgrade. And our pitching is a real fucking head scratcher. We just don't have it this year. Maybe we'll get another post season miracle. Gasso is the GOAT. She just reloads.
  4. I'm through Hotel Reverie, which I didn't care for as much as the others. The Brandy actress killed it for me. Either miscast or a terrible actress or both. She's hot though.
  5. NFL agrees Sark should have played Arch last year.
  6. Forget recognition and adjustment. At this point, I'd be happy with - and stick with me here - an in-game adjustment where we just sit changeup against pitchers that are throwing it a lot. Just look for changeup speed only and let everything else go past. A couple of HRs will discourage teams from being so changeup happy against us. But it's like our coach missed that day of JV-2 baseball.
  7. In their defense, a good changeup is arguably the hardest pitch to hit/layoff in softball/baseball. The rub is that this team gets flummoxed by even the shittiest of changeups that you can spot easily, and has for years. I remember one game, last year maybe (against UCF?), where every other pitch, regardless of count, was a floaty, meatball changeup right over the plate. We either watched it drop in or swung out of our shoes.
  8. I think we go 1-2 in Norman. We'll see. They just have our number, until they don't.
  9. We really need CG to keep pitching like this. She was locating and spinning it great tonight. I’m not sure what the deal is with our bats. Holding joley out of the lineup is no bueno. Neither Vic hunter nor (my favorite) Katie C is doing shit right now. Our best hitter is Mia. She is patient, works the count. Can stay back and adjust to offspeed. The girls need to learn from her.
  10. Our offense definitely is fucky. It hasn't been right in a while.
  11. Maloney does great to sneakily tag up to 2nd. Then promptly runs into a tag like it’s 10u bullshit. Smh.
  12. My thoughts exactly. She was a huge get out of the portal. Not sure what coach is thinking here. Stewie at ss is also wtf.
  13. If we outscore them, I feel pretty good about our chances.
  14. Whataburger was never good. It's always been shit (except the spicy ketchup). My fellows Texans' love for that place has always confused me.
  15. Need to add Entire History of You and White Bear. Not a bad list.
  16. Definitely noticed Mia thickening up. She seems to be the only one our team that can adjust to offspeed though, so I cut her some slack. With Mac it was harder to tell . . .
  17. Mia Clemmer. One post up.
  18. Could be. But I don't think that applies to CG. Also, take Simpson. As a freshman, she pitched amazingly in the CWS against OU of all teams. Also won the game for us against Arkansas in the supers on the road to send us to the WCWS. I bet most of us can barely even remember that. Now, she can't even get through an inning against bumfuck U. Once is an anomaly. Two, three, four times . . . that's a pattern. There's something about Coach White and pitchers. It's beyond obvious at this point.
  19. Agree, but the consistent decline of our pitchers as they stay in the program definitely seems to be a pattern. Bizarre if you ask me. I don't know if coach is too hard on them, too easy on them, or something else. I doubt it's mechanics. They seem to lose command . . . lots of walks, Mac can't keep the ball down in the zone, etc.
  20. never a fuckin doubt. this team man.
  21. I don't care about our record or hype. We are not a top 10 team. This is some bad softball.
  22. Atwood can't block . . . Bennett can't play second. Lovely.
  23. Facing a lefty pitcher with a great curve and rise and we again lead off with . .. 3 straight lefties. Might be a day to switch it up a bit coach. It's not like the top of our lineup is killing it right now.
  24. Q for those watching on TV yesterday: was blue squeezing us on the zone? Our fans behind the plate were bitching loudly all game, but I couldn't really tell given my angle. The LSU fans by me were fine, but some further away were total jackasses, as expected. At least the weather last night was pleasant . . . that was about it. Bella Dayton was there, and my wife wanted to get a fangirl picture with her, but didn't.
  25. Losing Bella, Vivi, and Washington was huge. There's been no one to step up to replace them. Not even close. Yes, the class last year was small, but all the more reason you need them to be difference makers. Brister and Bennet should never have been offered IMO and that was obvious to me - a know-nothing baseball Dad - after an inning or two in our first fall scrimmage. It seems like 2012-era Mack laziness to me. I still hold out hope for Salmon. She has a nice changeup. On pitching, how in the blue fuck did Mac forget to throw a decent dropball in one year? She's no longer a ground ball pitcher. Teams are hitting her hard to the outfield now.
