  1. So I actually pulled some data on this. Using Camp Mabry daily max temp records back to the 1930s, a high of 95 in early May is right at the 95th percentile. So yes, I'd say it's pretty rare and not common.
  2. oh please god let us hope this repeats itself.
  3. 95 in early May is 10 degrees above average. I wouldn't say that's fairly common. It does not bode well for this summer.
  4. Seeing forecasts for mid 90s next week in Austin. In early May. That seems less than ideal.
  5. yeah, a rainout could fuck us then, even if OU drops one to OSU.
  6. what's the rule on that? I figured conference games had to be played/made up, for precisely the reason we are worried about.
  7. Do you have access to the internet beyond this site? These encampment protests are playing out all over the country, at many universities. Laissez faire administration does nothing to prevent them; in fact, it seems to embolden them.
  8. kind of agree, but I think the NBA show with Shaq and Charles is actually better than the NBA. I'm admittedly not much of a basketball guy though.
  9. Maxwell and May gave up 6 ER yesterday to UCF and looked mortal. Hopefully we were taking notes on our day off.
  10. well that escalated quickly. UCF forgot how to pitch and catch.
  11. It is possible to synthesize excited bromide in an argon matrix. It’s an excimer frozen in its excited state, a chemical laser but in solid, not gaseous form. As soon as we apply a field, we couple to a state that is radiatively coupled to the ground state. I figure we can extract at least ten to the twenty-first photons per cubic centimeter which will give one kilojoule per cubic centimeter at six hundred nanometers, or, one megajoule per liter.
  12. let's sweep in Lubbock and hope we can win this thing.
  13. I hope Washington is ok. She’s one of our best players.
  14. Too many holes in this lineup with Goode and Whitacre.
  15. I was at OU this week giving a talk. Their new softball stadium is fucking insane. As we drove by, I remarked how nice it looked, and my host was like "ah, no . . . that's the old stadium. The new one is right up here . . " What a venue for college softball.
  16. We will miss them. Cap has been great at 2nd this year and at the plate. Estelle has also been huge for us, particularly out of the pen. Her curve against lefties is nasty. Bella’s my girl and now internet famous because of Jomboy. It never really clicked for jordyn after her freshman year unfortunately. Hitting D1 pitching is no joke.
  17. I encourage anyone who is a PTA fan to read the original screenplay. There's a lot of interesting backstory that was cut for time.
  18. Let's hope CG can find the zone. It would be nice if Sophia could get some work in. We may need her down the stretch.
  19. ok - well you failed to make the connection. But I'm not contending your main point, just pointing out your problem is with the law, not the judge.
  20. A state law was passed last year colloquially dubbed the "rogue prosecutor law" that allows residents to petition the court system to remove a DA if they, among other things, systematically refuse to prosecute classes of crimes. The judge here simply heads up this judicial district and is carry out his responsibilities under the law. You can read more about it here.
