  1. Hutson on that screen was lol.
  2. this right here. Takes you back . . .
  3. This October has been brutal, with no end in sight. Oh well, there's always November.
  4. Dumb question amnesty, but is that lone firehose actually doing anything?
  5. Homeless fire?
  6. I was meh on the Sark hire, but I became sold on the idea that he was top notch program builder. Yeah, about that. We seem to be a flip house with lots of foundational issues, particularly on offense. This year seems like a write-off. The good news is lines and skill positions can be rebuilt via the portal much more quickly than the old days. I'm just not sure I trust this crew to do it.
  7. For hitting nerds (my older boys are ballplayers), here is some slowmo video of Snead's homer from twitter. Very short, connected, great extension. Good mechanics. snead_swing.mp4
  8. My concern is how he allowed the program, particularly the offense, to get this bad. The QB, the O-line, the RBs, the WRs . . . no playmakers. No great portal adds. Really bad evals. Little or no development. And then there's the playcalling. This is almost 2010 Mack like.
  9. It's an uphill battle to get to seven win steve for this bunch.
  10. He has better pocket presence than Arch.
  11. I only saw the 2nd through the 6th. I saw Salmon in for 1, Wells in for 1, Gonzalez for 2, TK for 1. I did not see Wells at 1st, but it's possible she went there for an inning (I had the fam with me, so not laser locked in). She had at least 1 AB as a pinch/DP. At 1st it was mainly Stewie, with Reese there for a couple of innings (lol). Crabtree got to pinch run and had 1 AB. None of the newbies did much at the plate other than Snead.
  12. It's a good problem to have I guess. I wouldn't get too complacent if I were one of them. I still think he rolls with Maloney and Henry at RF and CF due to trust. I guess 3rd and LF are two for sure "open" spots. Nichols and Lawson both played some 3rd tonight.
  13. I missed her two run homer (got there at end of 1st), but the only position playing newcomer that really stood out to me tonight was Snead. Super athletic. She had an amazing catch in CF, then doubled off the runner at 1st who thought she wasn't gonna catch it. She might be hard to keep off the field. I was a little surprised Altmeyer didn't come in until the bottom of the 6th and only got one AB. She has some pop.
  14. Nope. Must be injured.
  15. I thought it was self evident the Trump admin's extortion was a terrible idea. The hypocrisy was worth pointing out, IMO. Still is.
  16. Nah, you're either for tying grant funding to ideological/political litmus tests or you're not. Surl seems to be fine or outraged by this depending on team and context. I think it's terrible policy either way.
  17. The fact this has so many likes tells you all you need to know about team vs principles.
  18. Hopefully that smirking 35-year old redhead pitcher from UW finally graduated.
  19. I'll love her forever for that game 3 HR against tech. So clutch.
  20. I would say something similar for LG. She has a long swing with bat drag that hurts her against top end pitching, as I've posted on here before. She's very talented though and makes up for the poor technique with great hand eye coordination.
  21. I'm gonna try to go to the Texas State game Friday night.
  22. It goes to Austin Transit Partnership and either has been sitting in capital funds or been spent on admin and consultants. Definitely nothing wasteful going on. Great ROI. https://www.atptx.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20241114_BudgetReport508_Final.pdf
  23. I wouldn't be spiking the football just yet. Let's wait for more details to come out (maybe tomorrow). Below I'll post some of my old posts from the other thread. They've never had a complete DNA profile of the perp (or perps) and this is not the first time they've claimed a "match." They claimed to find a match from a random FBI database years ago, that turned out to be bullshit (see below). The ballistics match is intriguing, but the "science" behind ballistics matching is shaky, at best. It's not fingerprints or DNA. I would like to see some definitive corroborating evidence he was in Austin at the time. I'd also like to know how definitive the "DNA" match is (i.e., the likelihood that others would share the same DNA. Also, the idea this is a CODIS hit seems bizarre to me because this dude would have been in CODIS a long time ago.
  24. That was my recollection on impertinence. I don’t think we could actually observe her insolence per se in the mugshot, but I dreamed it in my head.
