  1. So what I am hearing is that transmission is lower in the districts with mask requirement right now? AISD seems like it's doing ok.
  2. I am so upset with our district right now as well. GISD won't even recommend masks. Their language is that either is fine. They started today.

  4. As far as I can tell, districts are not prepping for remote learning contingencies because the state isn't funding it. It is possible this hits/hurts the students and families in the more rural districts the most (fast forwarding to Sept/Oct) because they already have a lack of hospitals, and their counties are more MAGA/maskless.
  5. Thank you! Interesting how off some of the estimates were. I wonder how much this will affect city planning and budgets.
  6. I see the map in the link but it only has state, county and tract data. How can I find the data about cities and municipalities? Anyone have that? Or am I missing it somewhere in this link? https://mtgis-portal.geo.census.gov/arcgis/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=2566121a73de463995ed2b2fd7ff6eb7
  7. I have no idea why the link I posted is showing all of his tweets and I don't know how to fix it on this newfangled message board.

  9. Abbott's no mask requirement mandate may not be good public health policy but it does cut down on the political pressure on districts either way.
  10. It was a no brainer to get my teenagers vaccinated and I will do the same for my youngest when he is 12 soon - anything to help prevent more loss of time in school and sports, not to mention reduction in transmission.
  11. Been reading Texags some this morning. Haven't been there in years. How old are those posters? They sound very old and angry.
  12. My reading between the lines here makes me think NHS can't afford it rather that science driving that decision.
  13. This guy reminds me of someone else. https://communityimpact.com/austin/northwest-austin/election/2021/07/13/robert-chody-files-campaign-finance-report-showing-intent-to-seek-2024-williamson-county-sheriff-office/ In the midst of a criminal trial and following his election loss last year, former Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody has filed preliminary documents for a potential run at the position again in 2024.

I got chills and tears watching that first goal and the crowd.
  17. It is official - my oldest can go to UT if he wants. We got his EOY junior transcript and he's in the top 6%. I am not sure if he wants to go but just having it in our back pocket is huge.
