  1. Didn't expect to encounter a grammar flex esp on something obscure. wtf. Merriam, ya know, Webster says fuck off. Someone finally showed him the real internals. It's an absurd ruling, faithless to the law. But it covers a tiny amount of voters - 1,600. The state also allows same day voting so it can be cured. Perhaps it's a signal of things to come. Perhaps it's the 6 traitors on the Court throwing him a bone.
  2. Can you imagine what 75,000 people could do at the Capitol? (Jan 6 had 20k less)
  3. If you want to read a short, good and easy to understand article about polling I recommend https://goodauthority.org/news/election-poll-vote2024-data-pollster-choices-weighting/ written by a Vandy prof who specializes in polling. He explains why four basic choices pollsters have to make heavily effects the results of every poll. He uses a poll from last week to show how reasonable choices a pollster makes can impact the results they finally present by 8% points, which is larger than the margin of error. . "This election year, are the polls virtually tied because voters are tied, because pollsters think the race is tied, or both?"
  4. I don't believe this meme has made it over here yet. (?) If that one is too subtle, here's another.
  5. Thanks for this. That was great. Withers has always been one of my favorites. The story in the podcast the guy had about his interest in kids who stutter was touching. Withers has said he didn't stop stuttering until he realized he'd never develop the courage to quit the Navy if he didn't stop stuttering. For the cover of his first album he met the photographer on his lunch hour. The lunch pail he's holding is the one he took to work that day, at an airline parts manufacturer, just like a normal day. Bill Withers came out of nowhere to record that album. And if you're old enough to know what a 45 is, "Ain't No Sunshine" was the B side that became a hit. When he recorded it, he hadn't yet finished the lyrics, that's how new he was to the business. And that's why he sings "I know" over and over. It was just a place holder, or meant to be, Withers thought. But the producer liked it so they shipped the record with it like that. Thankfully he was smart enough to keep the publishing rights for the music he wrote, and also not give up any portion of the writing credits, so even though the music business fucked him around he did extremely well. He wrote and recorded some of the best music ever. RIP. link didn't work, figured it out http://i.imgur.com/wkS3nqp
  6. this is a c&p from the editor, just so ya know I didn't translate it I translated the epic Bad Bunny video into English for non-Spanish speakers, I didn't really catch some of the names or other words but did my best
  7. I moved on her like a bitch ... you can just grab 'em by the pussy...how new voters are learning who's on the ballot edit goddammit not sure if linking to tiktok works if you don't have an acct works
  8. lulz if you think Harris is afraid of being tricked by a podcast bro with an iq of 40.
  9. Quality subjective Mormon voting info from a BYU poli sci prof -
  10. Muslim or Arab or have a friend who is? via @rimaanabtawi.bsky.social We are hosting phone banks to call #Muslim & #Arab #voters everyday in MI and PA! Sign up here #MuslimsForHarris #HarrisWalz2024 #Michigan #Pennsylvania https://www.mobilize.us/2024mivictory/event/738361/
  11. Mildly interesting: Trump had an affair (that hasn't been reported on yet) before he was President and paid for the woman's abortion. The woman is a Black public figure from Texas, Tamron Hall. NBC had the information before the 2016 election but killed the story. https://www.interestingmysteries.com/p/the-rumor
  12. <<WSJ>> on how xitter users are aiding the fascists. https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/x-twitter-political-content-election-2024-28f2dadd?mod=hp_lead_pos2 I hope they're enjoying their slice of catturd. Fortunately the election won't be won on xitter.
  13. Just being real and it's not consequence free - at that time the $50k would be mine, even though I'd probably prefer to give it away in 50 chunks to people who need it. Taking funds from my own account -- just trying to be real --wouldn't be just my decision and I couldn't do so without going through 2 women. So let's say I could have my existing lessors pay a year in advance (iow an account that nobody else monitors), would I be willing to risk it? Yep.
  14. This is not money from a rogue bitch billionaire this is small donations with a max limit of $3300. Short answer is yes. But that's easy to say and a lot of money that would require telling my FA and wife that I was doing it so lulz. I've bet less than $1k in my entire life despite being in Vegas a bunch of times, so the lawyerly answer is, it depends. That's a lot of money to most people. More than the average American's retirement account. If I found a bag with $50k this afternoon, you were there egging me on, and if there were a highly reputable, legal and easy place to bet it with fair odds? Yep. In a heartbeat.
  15. I didn't expect to open the thread this morning and be confronted by so many nattering nabobs of negativism. Stand up straight with your chest out. Kamala Harris is going to win and it won't be particularly close. Is it the large rallies? No. But yes. They tell me about voter enthusiasm and likely voters. Is it the canvassing operations and volunteers? Yes. Is it individual donations? Yes. Is it because even the credible polls are absolutely worthless and should be ignored unless there's a large sample AND large spread surpassing the margin of error? Absolutely. Do the pollsters themselves know this? You betcha. There's a post in here of even Nate Cohn acknowledging his operation is oversampling R's. Are the polls knowingly ignoring new registrants, overwhelmingly voting for Kamala, and among the most likely to go out and vote? Fuck yes. Ignore the fucking polls and go vote. Sign up for a phone bank. Tell your friends and neighbors to vote. left one out - Women are voting in much higher frequency and not only are there more women voters than men overall, those that are voting are overwhelmingly voting for Harris. Harris has made it clear to women to vote why they need to vote, and they're doing so.
  16. Susquehanna poll of Michigan: Harris 🔵 52% Trump 🔴 47% 0.5% undecided.
  17. lulz - now the problem is Harris will only give Rogen an hour of her time a week before the election, and wants it to be in DC.
  18. "You're a member of Hamas and Israel may decide to blow you up any minute now." Seems odd that Ana is complaining that there's too much ridicule of a nazi going on in this thread. Is the world upside down?
  19. @immamacI'm not sure why these videos take up so much screen space. To download bluesky vids the app to use is down.blue. The native format is .ts but apparently that's not accepted on this site so I have it converted to mp4, which is the only other option. Any ideas?
