  1. long post warning - I've been reading a bunch of the critiques of Bezos. Here's some of the deeper cuts. <How much do you trust the media?> <trust in media separated by political affiliation> this is a badass resignation letter from a contributing columnist A WP Opinions writer and editor bafyreidekeovql7mmzu2huhtrgjkwk4vfflzm7weevevhsl6w2oysgnshq.mp4
  2. This just in. We assholes are posting wrong on the surly.
  3. Here's a thread I found about the poll released today covering Texas.
  4. also even Obama lost Kansas by 15 to -- checks notes -- McCain.
  5. What the "comedian" says it's about Brilliant joke, sir. Hey y'all with zero context here's a joke about an island that's 2000 miles away and their 6 year old problem with -- checks notes -- landfill capacity.
  6. That's the 3rd different explanation I've heard of the joke. The first two were all the trash they couldn't deal with because the hurricane created so much. I forget what the second was. But I believe neither explanation/excuse. Am I supposed to believe a comedian who doesn't know Puerto Rico is the USA not only knows about the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" but is going to make a joke about it, in front of a bunch of magtards when the rest of his act is cunt and cock and brown people?
  7. update/correction - many ballots destroyed in Vancouver. Only 2 in Portland. Vancouver by the way was the staging point for the nazis who'd regularly commute to Portland to try to stir up trouble, until they got their asses whooped. They'd all meet in their fascist friend's Vancouver basement apartment before carpooling to Portland. Lots of white supremacist types like @incredulity live there.
  8. That's 8% of total subscribers lost over the weekend. And counting. https://www.npr.org/2024/10/28/nx-s1-5168416/washington-post-bezos-endorsement-president-cancellations-resignations all because their absurdly wealthy, cowardly owner wanted to suck up to the wanna-be dictator who's going to lose the election
  9. Agreed. But they won't. The billionaire media cartel needs to be broken up.
  10. This goes to 52-46 if you go by LVs as people who say they intend to vote. Turnout will make all the difference. And KH-TW's side shows all signs of being much more engaged and motivated. edit - also it doesn't include new registrants and those are -- what -- 2/3 for KH?
  11. Only 2 ballots were damaged and the voters have already been contacted, per reports.
  12. That sound you hear is the Trump campaign in full panic mode, trying to drive up the negatives of Harris in a desperate attempt to stifle voter turnout. Take that and add it to Trump bitching at Fox News while he sits on his fat red ass, and you have even more evidence of how desperate and angry they are. That's all it is. They have no secret formula and no ideas. They are just trying to keep things close so they can try their bullshit in the courts after they lose the election count.
  13. I didn't see where anybody's broken out the tabs on the TX poll. From what little I saw earlier this morning they had Houston all fucked up, way underestimating the Kamala vote. I'll go look for it. Bro. Time for another sign update.
  14. I'm behind in this thread. Has it made it over here that < 200,000 > subscribers to the W Post canceled their subscriptions in the past couple days? Also - this reporter says he reported this in more detail at the Daily Beast after the hurricane happened.
  15. “He had a joke calling [Vice President Kamala] Harris a cunt,” a campaign insider involved in the discussions about the event told The Bulwark. “Let’s say it was a red flag.” Four Trump campaign sources confirmed Trump's campaigned edited Tony Hinchcliffe's routine, “It could have been even worse.” https://www.thebulwark.com/p/trumps-shock-comic-was-set-to-call?utm_campaign=post&triedRedirect=true
  16. Oh they're absolutely going to try a bunch of things when they lose. I believe they think they're much cleverer than they truly are. Who the Speaker is and whether it's a R or D, will have no bearing on vote certification imo. Why or how they think they can rig the election through the House is a mystery to me. If anything it would have to be done at the Supreme Court level, but the Court would need a case that would change the election to act on first, a longshot, so it's impossible to know what may happen for certain. You know how dumb Trump is, right? Who knows what "secret plan" he's worked out with Mike Johnson. Trump's a loon.
  17. Someone I follow on bluesky speculated that the magtards think the House of Reps can pass a rule before they adjourn this Congress that they think somehow would rig the process, whether the R's run the House or not. But if that's what they're planning they're going to be the ones who are surprised because it would be a huge fail. Maybe @BearSchlongcan ask his sister, a former asst parliamentarian, for her thoughts on what they think they're up to?
  18. @Brisketexan I dunno man this seems like a strawman argument but maybe there's some other thread you've been reading that I don't know about. It's pretty stunning how the US Supreme Court has demeaned itself by corrupting the law over the past 10 years in more ways than you likely understand. But I don't know or haven't seen a lawyer on this site who's had their eyes closed to what's been going on. I'm sure Brisket knows more of the attorneys here than I do.
  19. He was paying homage, not plagiarizing. Stephen Miller literally wants to be Himmler.
  20. Just dm'd you. I have something cooking BIG! A lot of those fucks will never walk again but I better stfu for now. We'll talk offline!! also don't tell anyone but my work permit expired so I'm working illegally right now. It doesn't pay much but I've been stealing bitcoin from the dolts on nextdoor. jkjkjkjkjkjkjk!
  21. You don't need an invite to join bluesky anymore. Any email address to register will do. The site has become pretty awesome. There's apps to help you easily find anyone on there you follow at twitter. You'll probably want to follow a lot more people on bluesky than you do at twitter because there's nothing pushing stuff into your feed. Although there are feeds of many types that you can also follow. People post starter packs with a bunch of suggested follows - they have them for most professions. The video is excellent. There's not a ton of sports but I get that here, and also they just rolled out video like a month ago so the numbers are growing. There could be more journalists but there's a lot and the numbers there are also growing. It's a lot larger of a user base than it may appear at first, just follow a lot of people if you like a very busy timeline. edit - also each user has a block button for users that annoy you and it's nuclear as in it turns them into vapor you'll never see or hear from again.
  22. Did I miss something or was I not specific enough about saying I'm buying a gun for the first time in my life? If he's trying to rally the Proud Boys for post-election violence when he loses, I am going to have some self-defense on hand.
