  1. The R side seems to have a particular problem with it because a fish rots from the head down.
  2. I've bolded, italicized and underlined the portion of your comment that makes no sense to me. It'd be like saying the people of the US supported what occurred on Jan. 6 because it was in support of the ruling party at the time.
  3. I think if PA had anything worth taking Hamas would've taken it. At the same time, Netanyahu trying to bribe Hamas and having the gall to think it would work is one of the dumbest things ever. Israel is in the jam it's in because it's a democracy and the wrong party has wedged itself into power. That's something we should all be concerned about given some in the US love to cozy up to autocrats.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong but essentially wasn't the PA subsumed by Hamas? Admittedly I could be wrong...I just want to be clear I'm not playing a game of trying to one up you. If they weren't, I wonder how what you say should have happened would have played out internally to the Palestinians. Seems like Hamas has had the resources to take whatever they wanted within Palestinian borders. I think condemning both Hamas and the Israeli government as led by Netanyahu is the right thing. Hoping for Israel's annihilation -- as some in this thread are apparently hoping for -- is woefully and embarrassingly misguided as to the interests of the United States, and frankly, for justice.
  5. I'm not "both sidesing" shit. If you thought that was any part of my main point -- edit, or you missed that I was merely responding to a snide comment about Soros -- you missed reading a post or two.
  6. Cute but I'm talking about a lot of Silicon Valley money and Wall Street, along with other reliable, wealthy, large Democratic donors.
  7. Also, tv ads are effective in political campaigns but the type of ad (positive, negative, issue-oriented) that's effective varies year to year. That's the conclusion from a study by a Democratic-allied firm. I take this additional conclusion from the same 2024 study as a big positive this year: the study’s authors also note that the greatest benefits would likely accrue to the best-funded campaigns and groups that can afford to create (and test) many ads in real time, not cash-strapped efforts further down the ballot.
  8. I get the cynicism but there's something called the Lowest Unit Rate, which allows presidential campaigns to purchase ads at the lowest rate. Individual PACs can't access those rates. Also as the election nears it can be all but impossible -- especially in swing states -- to find desirable open time slots for ads. Finally, there's also plenty of wealthy individuals spending money for the Democratic side.
  9. About Pennsylvania, from the same Politico article - perhaps why it's not as strong this year for Dems, so far:
  10. edit - nm looking back @NoName beat me to it John McCain reaching out from the grave
  11. This is 100% me forcing something into the thread that's really not relevant, nor am I being serious, but it's too funny to pass up. Is it possible Russia is using ai to determine their military strategy. Consider: need to add: Any paratroopers in here?
  12. The traitors believe if they win PA, they'll likely win it all. That's why they're spending a higher % of available funds there. I don't know what's changed in PA to make them think they have a good chance there.
  13. Yes, that. She was also basically calling him an opportunistic nepo baby and he lacked any clue about how to respond to the passive-aggressive attack.
  14. That's Rep. Marcy Kaptur. Vid is from 2023. I love her complete disdain for him. She's been in Congress since 1983.
  15. The short answer is that Disney is trying to compete against DTV and all the other cable/satellite/streaming providers by offering themselves better arrangements than they're offering to any other company, including DTV. This is anticompetitive behavior. Disney is planning to offer a "skinny bundle" of sports only, but they're trying to avoid allowing any other company to offer the same option. They're trying to force the other providers to pay for channels like all the Disney tv stations, Fx, NatGeo, etc. for the privilege of offering the live sports related channels. Below is a letter DTV, Dish, Fubo and the Electronic Frontier Foundation sent to Congress a couple months ago about the issue.
  16. FYI/FWIW I'm no fan of DTV but the party that should receive almost all the blame here is Disney. This is not like the carriage negotiations of the past. This is about Disney acting like a monopolist and trying to force bundling (abc+espn+every other Disney station) on cable/satellite while giving themselves (Disney) the right to sell unbundled sports packages.
  17. ABC and ESPN are blacked out on Direct TV as of this moment. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2024-09-01/directv-espn-abc-disney-blackout
