  2. Last night's rally was 57 miles east of Pittsburgh in a county of 133k inside a small arena. Photos to compare last night versus 8 years ago.
  3. Just when the world had pretty much forgotten all about her, fuckin' Sofafucker stumbled into all our lives.
  4. Depends on who their President is: Earlier this year in India, X faced similar requests for targeted account/post removal upon penalty of fines and imprisonment. X complied. India has a right-wing government, while Brazil is cracking down on right-wing insurrectionists, so Musk complies with the former but fights the latter. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/02/22/x-withholds-some-india-accounts-after-executive-order-from-modi-government-.html via @maxkennerly.bsky.social
  5. One of the Trumptards attempted to attack the media at a rally tonight. Was dragged out. Volume up to listen as Dotard droans on with the audience completely ignoring him as the attack went on.
  6. The unpolished shitty black shoes with that blue suit are horrendous, too...Right, @G650?
  7. Right, but pretend you were the pollster in charge, and you got a couple back to back workers asking you which box to classify the mad person who yelled, "I'm voting for -dipshit!- and then hung up. It's inconceivable to me that in a political poll anyone would mark down the angry people saying they're going to vote for the angry candidate as "incomplete" and ignore it. It may be routine in other scenarios, like obtaining data about a film that just came out. But in the A or B scenario they're telling you the only thing you need to know, and the certainty of their feelings/intention to vote can easily be inferred. Info like attitudes about the economy or whatever are absolutely secondary in that scenario.
  8. from NBC, which doesn't call it a sudden flip of positions, merely doing "damage control."
  9. Here we go. Brazilian court orders suspension of Xitter. Social media platform to be blocked by ISPs because it did not appoint legal representative in allotted time https://www.theguardian.com/technology/article/2024/aug/30/elon-musk-x-could-face-ban-in-brazil-after-failure-to-appoint-legal-representative The court records are secret but it's believed this has to do with Musk's disinformation campaign and possibly fomenting revolution on behalf of former President Bolsonaro
  10. I recall this thread by @ATexanAbroad he spent more time there than he first intended
  11. Turns out the Diaper Don “origin story” movie - The Apprentice - is getting a release before the election. It stars Sebastian Stan as Trump, and Succession’s Jeremy Strong as mobster lawyer Roy Cohn. The film shows how the Trump toxicity was shaped by his relationship with Cohn. Diaper Don tried to stop its release with threats of a lawsuit. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/trump-film-the-apprentice-release-date-awards-campaign-1235984424/
  12. An extra Hook 'Em! for not making us wait all day for the announcement.
  13. The decision to ignore people who said "Trump" and then hung up has to be one of the dumbest pollster decisions of all time. I'm not familiar with the story other than reading it in this thread though I accept it as true. It's so jaw droppingly stupid it seems like a good reason to ignore the pollsters, even the well-rated ones, especially this far out from the election. I believe there's too much focus on the polling/horse race right now, and that there's no magic national vote percentage that would give Harris the electoral vote she needs - gotta go state by state, county by county.
  14. I thought Jamelle Bouie had a good take on it. tldw: She did fine. Tim did fine. The questions sucked and were asked primarily to get KH to respond to narratives set up by other journalists. He laid out how he would question a presidential candidate if he had the opportunity with questions aimed at how that person would conceptualize the presidency.
  15. a) the way he always pronounces "willing to" as "willin' ta" is so unprofessional for someone running for VP, and along with the eyeliner he should get called out on it. b) institutions like the NYT are controlled by white men who fail to recognize their own bias. That's one big reason Drumpf and Sofafucker can get away with and skate right past crap like this and a woman in the same situation could not.

  18. How could an argument have validity and also undermine itself? What does the platform she placed it on have to do with your perception that it's "masterbatory?" It's spelled with a "u" by the way. The vote of women is what will carry this election. I'm damn glad to see it happening, and jubilant that the racist, misogynist fucks are going to feel triggered.
  19. I guess she could be on twitter where accounts with 20,000 followers get 3 likes on their tweets, and other accounts, particularly women, get attacked by white supremacists and russian bots.
  20. I had to look him up because I don't watch cable news for, as it turns out, exactly the type of reason you mention Scott Jennings. He's literally an advisor to Mitch McConnell and is working to advance the republikkkan party.
