  1. This was published this morning. https://www.the-downballot.com/p/morning-digest-republicans-are-starting based on
  2. He's performing with Sheila E. Which reminds me of this video from about a year ago.
  3. @Anastasisplease read this and tell me if you feel seen. New terminally online archetype just dropped: the Peripheral Progressive. You won’t find them door knocking, participating in legitimate political activity or lobbying for concrete policy changes. No, the Peripheral Progressive is a different animal altogether. They thrive by taking the moral high ground rather than achieving practical results.Whatever it is, they’re against it. It's written by Joan Westenberg.
  4. edit Julia Louis-Dreyfuss hosted a panel discussion today with Democratic women governors https://www.youtube.com/live/xZnvchAkDZo
  5. Speaking/performance schedule was released about 50 minutes ago. https://pastebin.com/7C4zu1MP edit - Oprah is a late add performances - John Legend & Shiela E; Stevie Wonder; Amanda Gorman; Maren Morris
  6. What is going on here? Wait, I mean what is the idiot attempting to talk about now?
  7. I watched Doug Emhoff's speech for a second time because it was so good and so strategic, but also highly relatable, for me at least.
  8. Trump's former Press Sec's speech was just 2 minutes and packed a punch. "I wasn't just a Trump supporter, I was a TRUUUUE Believer," she began. article https://archive.ph/RobGO
  9. Each day's official schedule has been published sometime around 1pm, give or take 45 minutes. edit - meaning times and the full list of speakers. Tonight is Buttigieg and Bill Clinton. Oh and Pelosi and Walz!
  10. Yeah I was thinking about first time convention watchers earlier this morning. There's never been a political convention anything like this. They're typically dreadfully boring with an exciting speech at the most. Their team put together not only a great night at the DNC on the most difficult and boring of nights (state roll call) but packed an arena all the way in Milwaukee where the candidates appeared. Yes they've been doing great. As @Tucopointed out it seemed spontaneous. From a messaging standpoint I'd prefer it be a positive message. During Michelle's speech last night, the spontaneous chant was, "Do Something." The audience is energized and looking to participate. I listened to KH last night in Mwk and to my ears, "Not going back" was heard too often...I'm already tired of it and I just worry she would benefit from a different rallying cry. All due deference to her incredible campaign team...they have been absolutely amazing so far.
  11. Just saw this pic from the other day. JD's confused by wiz.
  12. Probably unpopular opinion but I hope Harris has a different rallying call for Thursday besides "not going back." It doesn't feel large enough to meet the moment.
  13. behold the NYT trying to describe a dick joke edit to add her comment following -
  14. Michelle: "[Kamala] understands that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward. We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth." “No one has a monopoly on what it means to be an American. No one." "If we bankrupt a business or choke in a crisis we don’t get a 2nd or 3rd chance…” “we put our heads down” and “do the work”. "Going small...is unpresidential....Why would we normalize that kind of backward leadership?....America: our parents taught us better than that, and we deserve so much more than that." "Who's going to tell him that the job he wants is one of those 'black jobs?'" - the accent she put on "black jobs" was a killer
  15. Michelle Obama: "We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth." It would be incredibly difficult to deliver a better line than that. She had a few others, too.
  16. Tim & Kamala in Milwaukee tonight. Harris enters at 44:40
  17. Narrator: it was in her memoir, but not widely known.
  18. Michelle full speech, 21 minutes Mr. Kamala Harris, 14 minutes
  19. It's absolutely incredible that someone would sell the sole vehicle they depend on to earn a living and plan to replace it with a brand new, first model year vehicle. I wouldn't do that with any vehicle in its first model year. Compound that major life fuckup with somehow ignoring the many huge, multiple red flags that accompanied the Cybertruck's development. Then for someone to go ahead with their plan despite everything that's happened since the CT roll out. It's stupefying. No sympathy for the dipshit fanboys.
  20. No idea. As we've seen people even in the US are only slowly leaving the platform with many afraid to leave because of their followers. However Musk's race riots appeared to be the last straw for many twitter users across the pond.
